I think the ether is created and moves on the principle of bitcoin, so there is no need to panic. We need to calmly take this into account and in a few years, along with the ether, you can become a millionaire.

I think the rumours of the death of his founder is not truth, the aim is to create panic in the market and course people to sell off ethereum. I am speculating to see the next ethereum price upward movement at above $500. The token was an added advantage.
Upward movement? Cant you see the recent price, its going down man together with other altcoins in the market which we can see almost  red and they do all decrease.Dont know whats the reason but its not the time that we can see about ETH price increase and regarding to those FUD its just really a fake news and it do spread just to make public panic when they are on weak hands they do eventually sell out and make the price dump even more.

What happened to Ethereum anyways? This is an image of the price in a 12 hour timeline:

At $220 now, what even happened? At first when ETH took the market by storm, I was quite shocked to see an uprising crypto like this, and many started talking about ETH. Now that I started to learn more about it, this happens... not sure now, I would keep a safe distance for now and give it more time and patience.

Do you think it is a good time to buy now?
What happened was that a rumour circulated that the founder of Ether, Vitalik Buterin died in a car accident. All their investors panicked then the value dropped. I still think it was one of their competitors that created this fake news story.

I don't think its a good idea to invest in Ether right now. Perhaps it is more stable now but I would still not suggest it. And plus, there's so many new and exciting ICO's taking place. Some of them have real potential so why no broaden your mind, do some research and invest in those. Who know's what you could get out of it. Just a thought Smiley

Hope that helps.
No, Vitalik Buterin not died, this just is fake news from news on tabloid to attack mind user ETH and people not have knowledge and information to know this is really news or fake!

ETH dropping down just by some ICOs project starting selling ETH from crowd sales and all market at now are bearish trend in summer. Remember in summer not good time to buying, "Sell in may and go away" still exist for remind all people invest in summer can death and loss your funds
https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin

Looks vitalik still being active on the twitter, that's obviously fake news has speeded by those against ethereum.

The bearish caused by the ico project starting to sell the ethereum for the money that gives the massive dump. I can say it's the big problem of ethereum too many projects based on the ethereum platform.

It seems to me that the reason for such a steep dive in prices is not the rumors of the death of Vitalik. Most likely this is due to the fall in the price of bitcoin. They are not formally linked to each other, but bitcoin is the legislator of all the trends in the cryptocurrency.

Food for thought.

This chart was drawn by an economics professor named Jean-Paul Rodrigue & is widely used in finance/economics to depict stages of a bubble.

This is a six month chart of ethereum.

They look very similar to me. Although I could be wrong on that.

I've been saying ether is a bubble for weeks now & can't claim to be unbiased.

Indeed,
Not only eth, everything's bubbling for weeks now and absolutly went down.just like bitcoin back then in last year 2013ish until early 2014ish something similiar will always happen because it's an economy cycle,
And we can not say it struggling but instead following the flow of the cyle,we may be can see it again in the next 3 years or so from every cycle.even we can see it more than before if nothing goes wrong un the future.
Eth was one of the best cryptos in here and always be like that (i hope it doesnt not be like ltc) bringing discovery and innovation

It's the same thing that's happening to all coins right now. The price of Etherium is still pretty high. It's around $191 on poloniex currently. But it might still be a good time to buy since it's had over a 15% drop for the day. Just don't be surprised if it drops more before it increases.

All/most other coins are seeing this massive dive as well.
Main question is how far will it dive, that interests me.

Once again the alt coin market proves to be a bad hedge against a BTC drop :X

Still kinda disappointed that ETH got pulled down so strongly as well, I almost believed that ETH finally was an alt that managed to decouple itself from the BTC price. Same old, same old.

You guys do realise that almost the same "crash" can be seen for Bitcoin in the last 12 hours, don't you? The same can be said for a lot of alts actually. I'm looking just at DOGE and LTC. Just goes to show that BTC still leads the way. You jump, I jump, Bitcoin!

Yes, same is happening with many coins. Almost all of them strongly dropping. Bitcoin is reaching $2300, maybe it's not the limit...

Nothing changed, Bitcoin is still on the command, controlling the market's movements and its clones coins.

I think it doesn't have relation to the hoax about ETH creator's death, there was already sufficient time to explain that wasn't true, everyone should be aware about it just by doing a quick search on Google.

Ether seems to be following the price of Bitcoin, as is normal for most altcoins (except Litecoin recently, for some reason). If you look at the Bitcoin chart, you will notice the same trend. This implies that ETH itself is not suffering a drawback, but simply lowering in price due to the fact that the bubble is officially popped and people are getting out of the market for the time being. You shouldn't worry too much about it, because it is more to do with Bitcoin than anything else.

Ether is/was an extremely overvalued coin. Come on $400 for a coin with a circulating supply of nearly 100 million and counting? Nah. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike Ethereum as a concept, and I like how it's different from bitcoin and using the blockchain technology to benefit other projects. But I just don't see it copying bitcoin price wise.
