even after being a good and advanced crypto exchange they are not concentrating on services and support .
Why would they focus on providing people support when regardless of what they put their users through, they know that people are almost forced to keep using them. Providing support is time consuming and expensive.

If they can have a very small group of people being responsible for the day to day operations, their operational cost will be extremely low. Low operational cost means more net profit every month.

The only way to make them improve their services is to stop using them until they actually start improving things. It's money they are after, which is directly the easiest way to hit (pun intended) that exchange as hard as possible.

They will only listen to you if they realize that their future income is at risk.

The issue is that many are trying to avoid Shitbtc, but their funds are held hostage.

I have pending IGNIS and some Bitcoin hardforks which are 5 months overdue. Once they release my funds, I'm getting the hell outta the exchange for good.

No way!!! 5 freaking months? that's really unacceptable, I'm already out liquidate all my coins into ETH because it says that Bitcoin withdrawal might takes month. So I don't want to take that risk although they will still display the same message, but what the heck, 4 weeks for a ETH withdrawal is not the norm because we all know that ETH network is not that clogged as Bitcoin so I go ahead and withdraw everything and get it in a few minutes so that's it for me. Plus they are really slow on my end, so bye bye HitBTC for me.

Hey All,

I have some btc stuck on hitbtc there is no email coming so I can withdraw my coins is hitbtc a scam I've read a few bad things about them on here. What do you guys think?

they are not scam but their services are sometimes so much poor that anyone will doubt on their reputation .
happened with me many times in past where they either disabled deposits or delayed it for upto 10 days . in withdrawal too same issue with TRX and 2 other coins . when you mail them or raise a ticket reply takes much time , also twitter team reply only few posts depend on their mood .
even after being a good and advanced crypto exchange they are not concentrating on services and support .

It's not a scam, but it is one of the shittiest exchanges out there. If you have an ICO and you lists your Tokens at HitBTC, you want to loose investors. I hope you can transfer your BTC finally, good luck.

Yes you can try to withdraw  your coins if you are doubting the site, I also deposit some small amount of bitcoins there before and make some scalping with certain coin and earn some small amount,  I also tried to become inactive there for a weeks and tried to withdrew my coins and there's no problem, the transaction is smooth and fast.

Done a few trades there with zero hassle.
It depends on what coins you are using for trading purposes. If you stick to just Bitcoin and other top level altcoins, you are less likely going to face any sort of problems, which applies to all shitcoin exchanges. In other words, an exchange (especially when it concerns a shitcoin exchange) can be as good or shitty as you want it to be.

But I'm lately worried about all these exchanges, not because I think they want to scam us. Just much safer to keep your coins with you.
Lately? It has always been safer to keep your coins just with you instead of leaving them on exchanges. Also, you should be worried because of how they *might* scam you. Most of the times when an exchange gets hacked I very much doubt that it actually got hacked. It's far too easy as exchange operator to plan everything in the best possible way. Coincheck was not an exception. $500 million worth of crypto assets in hot wallets, hello, how obvious do people want to have it?

Once I deposited some SC coins in it and it said the wallet works ok but it took 21 days to see my SC coins in Hitbtc wallet  Grin
another thing was when I bought NXT in Hitbtc to receive Ignis airdrop , and it's been ages still haven't received any ignis!
I just try to stay away from it!

Jesus 21 days man that is SOOOO efficient lol these guys better stay on top of things or they will be beaten out by the competition....

Ok I'm been using HitBtc for at least 6 months now and so far I haven't got any issues, only one though but it was resolved already. However, let me quote one user today:

Today I wanted to withdraw Bitcoin from HitBTC, it gives me the message: Because of the congestion of the exchange, your funds can get to you on your wallet for 4 weeks! If you agree, click continue! How do you like it?! 4 weeks!

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but if it is then I think I will take all my coins on that exchanges. That's too much. They just lost a lot of customers here with this kind of withdrawal protection. 4 weeks? WTF?

One thing is sure we cannot trust any exchange even its very reputable because in bitcoin history many run with very good reputation I am also using this for some time have many troubles in very short time now very selective about this because many reports coming which are not good enough

Exchanges are entering a new phase of legitimacy, or rather the non shit ones. I really can't see a Goldman Sachs or NYSE backed place running away with funds or going bankrupt because of a gaping security hole.

The new danger to users on places like that is disappearing into their KYC/AML hell and never emerging again.

I've been reading up on this today. There seems to be a lot of theorising about the links between various services that are selectively scamming people.

According to this - https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/2930/which-entities-are-related-to-bytecoin-and-minergate

Hitbtc is one string in a shadowy bow with tentacles everywhere. I wouldn't know about that. I do know that Hitbtc sounds shit and I'd never put a penny into it.
Thanks for your valuable insights! I was using HitBTC as my main altcoin exchange so far but I will be more cautious after reading all these threads and the complaints which are in there.

We can never trust any exchange. Fullstop

It's sad to see that only a very few people think like that. It's even more sad when we take into consideration how the majority of the people use exchanges as wallet, all out of laziness. In other words, the majority of the circulating Bitcoins is held by centralized services. It was pretty shocking for me to read that Xapo is sitting on $10 billion in client funds, which goes beyond everything we value.

All these fools think to have left the banking system and are now safe, while in reality nothing has changed for them; their funds are still being controlled by a central party. I consider it to be worse than having your money stuck in banks because of how scummy most of the exchanges are, and how incapable they are of professionally running a multi billion operation. Every time an exchange goes down, even if it's for a few minutes, people start worrying, wich says enough. People don't trust exchanges but are still using them. Roll Eyes

Yea I really want to create some sort of service in the crypto world that would regulate/punish in some sort of way all these scams and other bull crap in this space that you have to constantly keep an eye out for.

I think the entire crypto industry needs a facelift when it comes to customer service that should be #1 priority and something people should really value in this space.

The problem isn't related to crypto anymore, but to a general rule being that when a business is operating in smaller form, it actually cares about its customers, but when businesses grow larger, and they don't depend on you as sole user anymore, they don't give one single damn about their customers. Best is to stick with local exchanging services because they offer you the support (when needed) in a timely manner, which is the most important thing. In most cases they do charge more for their services, but it's all worth it in the end. I am doing the exact same thing and no longer use large exchanges. It feels good. Smiley

What are the smaller exchanges you use? I recently started using cryptobridge I really like that exchange Smiley

I think there is a mistake about your Email, you should try to check it again, there must be a mistake that you do.
I think hitbtc is not a scam because just yesterday I am trading and attract BTC smoothly.
hitbtc is one of my faforit exchangger because the movement so fast sometimes increases up to hundreds%.

Read the post a few above yours it was NOT an issue with my email. I opened about 4 support tickets the last one I threatened to bring the law/lawyer into the picture and next day I try to withdraw and "magically" a confirmation email shows up in my inbox allowing me to withdraw I lost about .01 btc in the process of trading to different coins to try and get my money out but you know what at least I got my money out, but I will be avoiding them like the plague from now on.

Unfortunately i don't encounter such problems on my account  as you do but there are lots of complaints about how slow their service and confirmations  I've also seen some problems that is still a problem even as of now. I don't know what problem might that be and I'm also planning to change for a good cause while i don't encounter such problems.

Yes it was .09 btc not the issue I've checked it 20 times believe me it is not on my end it is on their end I withdrew from their site about 5 or 6 times they are unresponsive for the support tickets I opened and I have my btc stuck on their site for almost a whole week now. This is not good business on their part, horrible customer service and unreliable site.

Looks like you are now a part of those people who have a bad experienced using these exchange. Like any others here, I don't have any problem with HitBTC but it doesn't that they are good as there are already lots of complaints about them on which some of it are still unresolved.

Asking if HitBTC is a scam can't be answered by yes or no because all in all, the answer will based on users preference. No one can help you here as the only one who can help you is HitBTC itself so no choice but to deal with their poor customer service.

Im just hope you will get back your funds and stop using these exchange now even your tokens are being traded here or faced the risks.

Right. So far I didn't encountered any issues withdrawing my funds on them. Actually I still have .07 BTC deposit but I'm doing some trades so I haven't got the chance to withdraw it. So I can't say they are scam because no issues for me so far. However, there are a lot of threads related to the it:

It's definitely a problem with HitBTC. It happened several times in the past to several users.

Have you opened a support ticket already? If not, I suggest you to do so for them to assist you by resending an email manually or check what was the problem. Most likely they will suggest you to check first the spam and other folders in your email plus make sure emails from them are not blacklisted. Since you already did, add that to your ticket for them to know and give another solution.

At times similar service interruptions takes place. It is good to act in the smart manner and get rid of these issues. Here Op seems Unlucky to face such an issue, because hitbtc has a reputation and they won't intend to lose it anymore. From my experience it is serving me good and hasn't encountered any problems.
The same as here mate, well I used hitBTC for almost a year but I could not be encountered any trouble from this site all went smooth transactions when I was withdraw my bitcoin and also ethereum because I must prefer to trade my tokens into ethereum due to low transaction fees.
Yeah, I think you must double check your email maybe sometimes there is technically errors from their site, so far so good when my transaction history in hitBTC.

Hitbtc is a good platform of exchange, they have a good reputation and nice trading.
they are not scam, sometimes the mistake are in users side.
make sure you have it all correct. double check everything.
sometimes BTC got stuck not just in hit but anywhere.

tell this to the hundreds of people waiting for their TBAR.
They got TBAR forked from BAR for 2 months and they still didn't release them to the owners. Also they are still trading BAR (old fork) when TBIS told them to stop long  time ago.

This is a fake news. Check email address. Many times, sending such emails from fake emails. Do not allow to less than 0.01 for withdrew. The mail may come in that case.
You gotta check it again. I think there is some other problem, because it is working well. Maybe you have made some mistake and that  is why  you are not able to transact from Hitbtc. Otherwise  it  is perfectly fine. And what are those bad things that you've heard about them. Any references please!? I think all of them must be rumors most probably, spread without any base.

P.S.: Don't believe any  stupid rumors and try it once more!

Ok thanks, yea I'm 1000% sure I did it right just not receiving any email. I know it happens from time to time with other exchanges but usually after some time I get an email. so idk what is happening....

And I saw this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2217068.100
This time, their site was updated, the problem arose. Do not fear HitBTC is a trusted exchange.

I have some btc stuck on hitbtc there is no email coming so I can withdraw my coins is hitbtc a scam I've read a few bad things about them on here. What do you guys think?

If it's just a verification email not being sent, then it's probably their email service provider being down or something like that. Most likely a fault in their system, and not actually them intentionally trying to scam you. But obviously it makes their services pretty unreliable to say the least.

Even though that I would definitely avoid HitBTC when I can, I wouldn't go as far as calling them a scam.

They are extremely shady though in the past, and they ask for tons of unnecessary info on your deposits like fund origin, ID docs, utility bills. Plus, their support is unreliable. All in all, I wouldn't use them even if they are not considered to be a scam.

Yea after this experience I'm not going to use them again they have not been very helpful and it's annoying having a bunch of my money stuck on their site....

Other than glitch on their minimum amount that can be traded there is nothing wrong on my side. If email is not being delivered than it might be problem with your email provider. Always use Gmail or yahoo like well known email provider and font forget to check junk/spam folder.

However hitbtc is not the best place to trade. I prefer binance over all other altcoin trading platform.

Yea idk what it happening a few days ago I withdrew about 5 different coins from there and every time I used it I always got the email fine so I don't think it's my email provider it has to be on there end. Because I only encountered this problem today no other time when I used the exchange (I've deposited and withdrew maybe 5 times from the exchange and everytime got an email)

Binance is the absolute king when it comes to altcoin exchanges, but the thing that keeps people steering to exchanges as Hitbtc, is that they are more likely to list rubbish coins.

Binance has become stricter when it comes to listing certain coins, while Hitbtc and Yobit keep adding rubbish coins like they don't even bother to perform a basic check. It's only the potential fee income they care about.

The only way to get rid of these exchanges is to stop using them, but that's not very likely with how they manage to attract thousands of new users every month due to the stricter policies of the other exchanges.

It's an unstoppable process unfortunately.

Noticed that people have complaints about all exchanges.. Even the strongest ones get accused of scamming.

Relax, if they were scammers, they probably wouldn't be existing for so long. It's probably something on their side, a minor inconvenience maybe. Maybe it's maintenance?

One of the crypto exchange that I like to trade is HitBTC. So far transactions have been smooth for me. Maybe it was just a technical error but I think definitely not a scam.

Its not stucked.  Actually they have a new trading policy that requires their trader to have atleast 0.01 btc before making any positions.
If you want to save your BTC,  then fund it again. Make sure it is divisible by 0.01 so you can withdraw it if you are in doubt of hitbtc.

I made an account  on HITBTC and used it for few times. I was not happy with their service , they charge so much for token transfer so I was out.

It has it's faults but it's not a scam. Check your email again. Make sure you have the right email and check again if you were able to confirm the withdrawal.

Yea I withdrew from there multiple currencies last week but I got emails, now I get nothing I checked my spam folder of course (first thing I did)
