In some religions it is considered a sin. But you have to judge a human based on it's doings and if he is a good man and gambles for fun or excitement, I don't see any reason why it is a sin.
Not 1.

I have saw a number of people who were very much good and related with noble family and they started to gamble only for entertainment and did not went there for earning money as they were already very much rich from their ancestors but when they involved in gambling they regularly lost all of their wealth and with that they gone to spend their lives in extreme poverty.

Maybe it's not a sin to gamble as long as the religion you have allows it. But some point, gambling is a sin when your bet is from illegal. That's way that gamble is a Sin.
Although in some countries it is illegal, but i think gambling is not a sin, its the player who become sinner if he tend to do bad or illegal act just to play gambling.
Agree, gambling is not a sin, it is depend on us if we make some dirty moves here and that will be a sin. Gambling itself is just a game, an activity to play if bored or somewhat reason do you have to consider this, but gambling is not really a sin.

Is gambling OK? Don't bet it! There's not an easy or instantly obvious proof text answer to that question.

Gamblers usually play because they want the promise of easy money, or because they want to lose deep down. The act of winning due to the loss of someone else, is clear.

Yeah, there might be a religion does not prohibit gambling and did not give a penalty to those who do it, but it is already clear that gambling is something that harms everyone and it can be categorized in all religions which is a sin. Because in the gambling contains things that can harm any person

Gambling started way long ago even before Jesus Christ was borne. The Bible says Jesus flogged people who gambling in a synagogal. This means that whatever happens in gambling does fit to be done  in a place of worship. I have always seen casinos in places where beer is sold but not a place of worship. Therefore it depends with your religion. It is also counted as illegal in some countries.

yeah for my religion is a sin, but I believe most religions forbid gambling, as well as several countries mostly prohibit gambling because it's sin and have a bad impact.

Agree, as in religion also gambling is forbidden and sinful for anyone who did. It is true that all this in most countries prohibit gambling, because gambling is the beginning of a crime. So gambling is actually the closest thing not good is done, but if you still want to use it responsibly and as a result and do the hatirohibit gambling because it's sin and have a bad impact.

Many countries prohibited gambling and considered as illegal thing not because it is a sin , most country with religious concept maybe yes prohibited it for a sin reason.

But beside a sin , gambling could destroy young man character.

To be real I do not think that it is a sin to gamble because people should decide for them selves what they are going to spend there money on.
If a man or women wants to spend there money on gambling we should not judge them.
if you are leaving in a free country or on your culture you are not believing in any religion your point is correct but to those who had been raised in place where religions exist it Is written from what ever book that they've believing that gambling is a sin.
Yeah I don't also think that gambling is a sin, and for me religion is not true, no religion in any bible that has written it is really out faith in God is really important. The money that we have right now is from our hard works and not from stealing.

whether its sin or not is on the basis of your value judgement and personal beliefs irrespective of what people hold to be a sin or a form of righteousness among other things so it is neither a sin or not as my basis cannot be the overall standard of judgement... my 2 cents...

Haha, I see lots of people here calling each other "scumbags", "scammers" and names and all of them got negative trust. So a scammer is calling a scammer a scammer.... what Cheesy

I don't know man, some say it's a sin, others say it's not. In my honest opinion, it's not a sin unless you play for profit and unless you gamble because you love money. I do gamble too and I'm a Christian, and I'm not doing it because I love money, and I'm not doing it especially for profit. I am gambling with nothing basically (faucets), so I don't even know if I can even call it 'gambling'. I am doing it because I love the community I found there, it's just amazing to meet so many great people in one place.

Well religion is all about keeping yourself in check. I doubt going wild on gambling fits the definition of the good life.

Not a sin for someone with - 8 negative trusts from the DT. I mean what could be worst than scamming people or promoting it? As far as gambling is concerned, no God ever said don't gamble. Neither Bible mentions it. That should be convincing.
Well played,  sir, well played.  Lol

I don't think gambling is a sin at all, but I'm not religious anyway.  There are so many religions around that you're going to get 1000 different answers to thos question.  And can't we please leave religion out of bitcoin?

Bible does not say or mention that it's a sin, but Bible mentioned something about love of money or greed. If it's for fun or entertainment I guess it's not considered as a sin.

Yes bible didn't say anything about gambling because gambling is not really bad, it is depending of who are playing gambling if the player starts to be greedy then it should be a sin, and gambling is bad for the people who cannot control their mind and body.
yes bible has not say any thing directly about gambling but there are are so many clues in bible and Quran where you can easily understand that gambling is a sing and Allah forbid us to play gambling.
