I’ve been noticing that services such as Patreon have been booting off some content creators that have “violated” their terms and services. I was just wondering whether it would be possible to support my favorite content creators using cryptocurrency donations to their websites if they allow it?

You should look up "Brave browser", it aligns well with how your feeling/thinking. Brave allows tipping of BAT tokens to content providers and for users/browsers who opt-in to see the paid ad content. Even Reddit encourages their community toward tipping using cryptocurrencies. I see the tip bot pop up all the time. If you enjoy and feel that the content provided to you was of some help and use, why not offer the creator and provider a tip then?

Donations of any form would probably be okay as long as the site allows it. If the cc provides a cryto wallet where you can send in coins, then i don't see any problem with that. It can be converted to fiat anyway. And if a cc is aware of the crypto market and bitcoin, then most of them would probably even prefer to receive donations in btc.

That’s simply a yes. If they accept donation in their preferred/optional currencies then so be it, give them the donation that they are asking for. It’s really not that hard of a question if you really are looking to help your favorite content creator in any way possible. Obviously, if they want to receive donations in crypto, they would have posted links so as to receive a little extra on the side of what they’re doing.

Sure, if they know about crypto and are willing to accept it, definitely. I know of some people who are aware of it but do not really want to meddle with it too much. If they learned more about it (incentivized by donations, maybe?) they could even help spread awareness. It is not a requirement, of course, but every little bit helps, and each new person that gets into crypto is another step in the right direction.

In the near future, most likely it will be.Nevertheless, it is much easier and more convenient to encourage content creators with the help of cryptocurrencies.

If the writer of the content needs donation for the work then he/she will make sure that they mention the address to receive funds. Taking donation in BTC is always safe then accepting in some new currency.

You most likely can with smart contract cryptocurrencies if you're specifically referring to automated monthly donations. Unfortunately, automated monthly sending of funds isn't currently available on bitcoin(as far as I know), but as far as I know it's very possible through the lightning network. But of course, feel free to make donations to your favorite content creators if they publicly disclosed a donations address. If they don't, ask them to.

We can already see a lot of platforms on the internet that prefers to receive cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin in terms of donation to their contents. For example, there are torrent sites that provide their bitcoin wallet addresses for users to see and donate bitcoin in return for downloading torrent files. If this is possible, YouTubers might also advertise their bitcoin wallet address to receive donations from their fans. It all depends on them on how they will utilize their resources.

Of course, it is, especially because such platforms like paypal can refuse to provide services to you anytime, without any prior notification.

So many websites now open up space to allow people donate to them through cryptocurrency, in the past hardly do you ever see any donation that's not done with regular fiat, digital currencies were not used, the websites wanted it smooth and easy, something they wouldn't have to worry about it's value(dropping).

But with how popular cryptocurrency has become, they'll be losing donations if there isnt an option to donate through cryptocurrency, so many people now are holders of cryptocurrencies, and the world is aware of that. If your favorite content creators have an option for cryptocurrency donation, send them crypto, most preferably Bitcoin.

It's a pretty big issue with a lot of platforms, the centralization of it. Those ones are companies, and if they don't provide any actual value to them and aren't good for advertisers (cough, cough, youtube here), they will likely receive shitty treatment from them.

There's a couple of platforms out there that work with crypto-currency, and even though there isn't one out there that offers a decentralized option so people can't get booted off, the one I'll link below are at least a decent step.
