So, some time ago there's this user who gave me a red trust because of selling an account. He said that selling account isn't allowed on this forum.
So please answer the question, "Is it allowed to sell Bitcointalk account?"

You are Sr. member so i think definitely you know about it. But personally i hear about it mostly members are doing it and selling and purchasing, but no one have take any action on it. but i suggest you, avoid it and do your own work.

He definitely knows already the answer of his question  unless if  he bought that account directly to skip the newbie rank then for sure he  would not know this thing thats why hes asking on this forum regarding to that matter, Selling accounts in this forum is allowed but it isnt tolerable and im not fan of it since these accounts could be used in scamming purposes.

Yep. That happened a lot in this forum or community when a scammer bought an account on as low as 0.05 or so and earned a quite large number of bitcoins by running a ponzi scheme with that trusted and senior account, because when new users see a senior account is the owner of that site they think it would probably be trusted so they invest and what happens at the end is known by all of us, Boooom! and gone.

Those scammers for sure uses that  method   to convince people  here on forum  to join on ponzi sites or any transactions  that involves  money. Mostly people  fall always because they believe on high rank accounts especially newbies they easily fall to that thing. Thats  why im not  really fan  on selling those higher rank accounts in this forum.

yes it is allowed, but some people don't like that as you can buy old account and others will think you that you have been here for long time so they will trust you more

And a lot of people take advantage of that thing and buy new and high rank accounts for starting new scam schemes in the community because the people will think they are old users and they trust them and they scam them and run away... that is why some senior members dont like accounts trading though it is not mentioned in the rules that it is not allowed.

is it true that ...? , it's something very terrible. But I am sure this will not happen in the future, as everyone here already understand how to play liars who are in this forum. Now maybe they will make a site that delivers something extraordinary things. This is quite risky if we are too cautious

Because average the older account always becomes a main target for scammer to buy it because the older account having a more reputation and usually it's always used by scammer to scamming the another people.

It is allowed but personally I am not a fan, because it then gives the illusion that the user has been here for a long time and people tend to put more trust in an account that has been active for a few years.

Especially in the HYIP area and new altcoins, these accounts could scam a lot of people, but then there may be legitimate buyers that want a higher account so they can join a signature campaign.

That's just my view, I don't agree with it but it is what it is.

I am also not a fan of that even if it is not against forum rules. Because it is same as to buy fake reputation, buyer will be able to scam someone more easily. Or act as escrow.

And you shouldn't give account name next time just because of this negative trust, some people puts negative on seller/account for sale.

Selling account are not prohibited in this forum but it is not tolerated. You are both right these  accounts could  do bad things into other users like  using in scam attempts.
Before  you sell an account you must  use a new account then then you should not  give the account name since there are user would definitely put negative trust on that and  it affects the price of the account for sale.

I have always been amazed that such a process takes place here.  I guess I can understand both sides of this controversy.  When I sold my business the buyer gained the complete reputation that I had earned over a long period of time.  In fact that is a large part of why the buyer wanted it.  Reputation can mean everything to a potential customer.  No different here, except that we operate in a world of anonymity sometimes.
However there are some differences her in bitcointalk with real world when it comes to selling online accounts. One difference is in real world people can sue if they are scammed easier than here. So here scammer buyers are accounts have more ability to scam. Although we should know that old accounts or accounts with some positive feedbacks does not necessarily show trust!!

It is true, we must be vigilant in the presence of fraud, and if you want to sell your account it will be good to sell or your friend who wants to dive into the world of the bitcoin
That's right, maybe will be better for listing or adding this rule in your mind "for selling your account for someone you will always need to seeing or searching the history of your buyer" because it's will not inflict a financial loss for a lot of people.
Maybe adding a feature to profile in which history of addresses can be shown diminish some types of scams.

I think it depends upon the user on how they avoid scam.. you will get scam if you trust a wrong guy, that's why escrowed services appeared in this forum to avoid scammers.
So what is the point on giving red trust to the seller or buyer of account? All users have the right to sell their account because they put a lot of effort just to acquire high rank. and there is no rules regarding this matter.

It is simple , you will not be scam if you just avoid scammer. always use trusted escrow on every transaction you will made to any user in this forum
I do not agree  with you about selling accounts however it is one of rules of this forum. About trusted users it can decrease the chance of becoming scammed.

Why is account being used in colletaral is allowed while selling is not? I think they are the same concept but in different ways. So that is my point. Accounts here have a value once it get high rank and can be collateral so basically account can be sell. Just a simple logic to understand that thing.

There no such rule in this forum  that account selling is prohibited, well its allowed to sell high rank accounts but  its not tolerable because  these account maybe used on some purpose it depends  on the buyer on how he use it. Even though the forum would prohibit this such act i think its difficult  for them to stop this kind of transaction because  they would have a hard time when they implemented  such rule.

I know it is allowed to sell bitcointalk account. And even the mods are going to ban selling of account here in forum. The sellers and buyers are going to do something about it. I have saw some transactions in facebook that some people there are looking for an account here in forum and as well as some buyers are there too.

It is not a ban reason but the forum community doesn't like the action. Because those purchased accounts are usually being used to scam other people. Admins don't ban it because they have too much work and chasing account buyers is a bottomless pit. They don't wanna waste resources on that.
I don't think there is a basis on this statement because the number of those who were caught using someones account to scam other people is not that much compared to those who will buy accounts just to join a signature campaign, although I don't have the number to prove it too but buying accounts is more likely to join signature campaigns. A small percentage "maybe" to scam people.

Still, If those bought accounts do a business, the person who does business with the owner of that bought account will most likely to think that he is doing business with the old owner. He is trusting the old owner who raised that account to that level. (I assume the account sold without notice of any forum members. If he gets caught while selling his account, forum polices will put a note on the account.) That's disturbing to me. You may not get scammed every time you do business with a bought account but the probabilities are high.
