I think selling your altcoins to USD is the right thing to use to our daily life but selling altcoins right now in the market is not a good idea because you may lose some amount of your investments. And investing is the first thing that investors are thinking and selling it to convert to USD is like cashing it out.

I believe that those of us involved in the field of cryptocurrencies should feel compelled to act in accordance with our ideals and therefore, we should prioritize the accumulation of bitcoins before the accumulation of dollars.

We must always keep in mind that one of the reasons that led to the emergence of cryptocurrencies is the search for alternatives to fiat money, therefore there would be no reason for us to exchange our valuable cryptos for centralized money.
I believe it would be totally depend on the purpose of your exchanging the coin for. If you wish to cash out then you better exchange it into dollar, but if you wish to make and investment you'd better exchange it into BTC or any other trusted coin.

I think it is better to sell your altcoins to USDT because the price USDT is stable like fiat currency USD.
If you feel your altcoins price will dropping in few days, you better turn it into USDT.
And later you can buyback your altcoins with cheaper price if the price really dropping later.

Between dollar and bitcoin much I prefer and profitable was bitcoin because in dollar you can't earn but in bitcoin if rise  your coin value was rise also so it means if you exchange you coin chose bitcoin because soon it will rise and for you to earn but you can also try to hold you coin in ethereum because it is almost same with bitcoin that fluctuating the value and profitable.

I think u need to hold Eth, but sell other altcoins by fiat or bitcoins, a lot of altcoins arent stable now, u need to be careful .
Holding ETH has been one of the worst decisions an investor could have taken in this year, ETH has been one of the biggest losers in this market and it is unlikely this is going to change during the last month of this year, so the best thing to do is to keep holding bitcoin if you have it and if you are holding other altcoins then it could be a good idea to get bitcoin or to consider getting out of the market until things calm down a little bit.

I already did that, but I only convert few of my holdings into eth and btc and sell thus I think crypto may die in the future and keep thus only potential altcoins for me.

It depends on us If we want to spend that money, then we should convert our valued crypto into dollar and keep what you can hold in bitcoin. This is a wise way to roll.

Exchanging to USD is better or usdc simply because it keeps the value at the buy price ,especially this time that the market is dipping low ,if you know what you are doing you will just end up will lot more coins

if you want to get out of the cryptocurrency market, then exchange. and if not, it makes no sense to exchange your altcoins.

When I saw the topic, I thought you were asking for people's opinion whether you should exchange altcoins for BTC or FIAT. I would have replied that no one should tell you what to do with your investment, if you need FIAT, convert to it or if you need BTC do same.  But reading further, you made a point that it's not necessary to convert all crypto to FIAT, which is wise. Many people who are panic selling will regret in the long run, just my opinion. Also before holding any coin or token, there should be good reasons backing it, not necessarily because you are following the crowd.

The exchange is currently similar, but the bear market is better. After all, the bear market's bitcoin will depreciate, so the dollar is safer. The dollar I am talking about here is USDT, anchoring the currency.

For me it depend on the bitcoin price because if the price of bitcoin low such as now then i will convert my altcoins to dollar but if bitcoin price back to expensive then i will convert my altcoins to bitcoin but the current price were not stable and nobody know at what range bitcoin will stop to fall and i think it's much better if we not convert all of our asset to bitcoin only

What is your final goal? You have to decide for yourself what is better way for you to save funds. Do you prefer fiat or crypto?
If you prefer crypto, then why do you need cashing in usd?

Maybe I do a bit different. I don't exchange my altcoins for BTC right now. I think it is better to exchange for other top altcoins with a high potential for the rise. I don't want to exchange for BTC since the rate of BTC seems very slow to increase.

With the long-term purpose, accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible but in the short-term, to avoid the downtrend of Bitcoin, we should exchange to dollars and buy again when it gain the price that we want and increase amount of Bitcoin that we are having

So you decide. If you need cash, then exchange alts for dollars.
If you need hold your funds in crypto, then you can choose usdt and then buy BTC once bearish market is finished.

After the Altcoins have fallen in price by 90-99 percent, there is no point in selling them or exchanging them. Let it be better to lie before the rise of the cryptocurrency market. Perhaps some of them still work. I do not think that many of them will die, but it will take a lot of time to restore the cryptocurrency market. Does Bitcoin really go down to $ 1,500? And then what will be the price of ethereum? How will the ICO projects feel? There are a lot of questions.

This will have to depend totally on what you would like to use this coin for, If what you would like to use it for is more favourable in Bitcoin, then you can exchange to Bitcoin.

Huh
But if you wanted cash wouldnt you have to convert your alts to btc then to cash?
As far as I know, there are no significant places where you can go straight from alt to cash.

There are a couple of p2p communities, but nothing large.
There's the localcoinswap exchange, but that is in beta right now.

So, in the end, aren't we all just "collecting" as much btc as we can?
Whether that be directly buying it or trading to maximize btc profit?

The funny thing is, last year, people were saying over and over that you should just keep btc cause it outperforms everything int he long run.
PErhaps they were correct.  Although short bursts might outperform it, in the long run you do need the btc to cahs out.

In each case, the decision depends on the current situation in the crypto market. For example, last year altcoins showed really rapid growth, therefore they brought excellent returns to their investors. Personally, I prefer to distribute my money for the purchase of BTC and reliable altcoins, I keep dollars only for everyday expenses.
