Theres always a risk when we are involved to an investment ex. bitcoin and many believers of this project same as you said we have high hopes with it that it would increase its price in upcoming years or even decades. Its a good thing that you made an investment through your savings but dont forget to remain some of it for future use because we dont know what will happen in bitcoin in the long run.

the different are only in a risk part , when investment has a lot of risk and saving don't ,
so for you who did not love to take a risk better to save money and for you who love to risk something better to invest it.

That are the two sides from each option, invest or saving. For me i see investment as a potencial boost for a potencial income, as long you make the right investement. Savings showed me a lesson from the last year to this one, with the halving price doubled and i could had better results if hold my coins till halving.

You can easily spot scam investment sites. If their offer is too good to be true, then it must be a scam. Do not put your money in there. Look for real.investments. it is hard to weed out the real investment sites from the scams, but if you do it will be very profitable.

I will choose trading for gain profit. Though investing bitcoin is risky now-a-days but If you have enough skill then you can earn good profit.
