Before you use anything on the internet, there is no 100% safety so we can only be careful and make sure that our devices are safe from malware, trojan or else.
Once you are sure about that, you can go to Opensea and start browsing to buy or sell what you want.
Do not click anything that you think is suspicious and could cause trouble to you because on the internet, you will find tons of that things.

I don't think so no. I don't know how it works specifically, but it's pretty much like allowing transactions between two points/networks when you connect metamask to opensea. It's like opening up a channel, BUT you still have the last word on whether a transaction would go through to the said channel (via metamask). You'd probably only get hacked really if the site you visited was a phishing site or you got human-engineered or something. So yea, just make sure you're visiting the correct site and are approving transactions you know you should approve.

As far as I know, not necessarily when solely connecting MetaMask to a platform. In the end it will still mostly depend if you know which wallet transactions you're actually approving yourself.

Anything is possible since no system is safe after all, also just make sure that you didn't click a phising link hacking will happen next and that will be the worse situation you encounter so be careful on that. Anyways just make sure to log out after you use the Opensea so that you didn't left your account there but so far I didn't hear any users complain being hack for using that platform so we can still say that this is safe.
