Hi I am really wondering what would happen to both of your account if you would send some merit to help a friend to rank up their account.
Me and my friends are really worried to give some merits because some might say that they are abusing the merit system,
And also others might think that they are all connected or it is just a alternative accounts to boost their merit.
What if this friend of yours is your another account? Hehe, I'm just quite confuse about your post. And as far as what I understand merit is not about friendship it is about the quality of post. Therefore if the post is highly reasonable for merit, then nothing to worry about.
I agree, anyone using the merit system improperly could lead you into trouble. Its still better to stick to the rules implemented by the admin to ensure the safety of your account.

This is why we are scared in giving each other some merit ,

You are scared of getting caught giving merit to your friends....

Just hand out merit when you see a quality post, and don't worry about it.

Only worry (as you should) if you are cheating the system.
I think so, when he talks 'scared' most likely he will cheat the system. But if he has understood how to get merit is to create a good quality post, the word 'scared' will not exist on this topic.

After doing some research I concluded the following:
As long as the post is a quality one you should not have any problems by giving or receiving merits.

I would add you should abandon your god fairy tale in your posts - you won't get much merit promoting gullible ideas.  :/

I think it is simply okay to receive a merit from a friend or give some to other..It's good and obviously a praiseworthy job indeed.Because these merits (s merit) aren't so important and there is no use of them at all. So,I think it won't be so lose of one to give a merit to other.Rather it will be so helpful to the person who is given merit to rank up.Rank up means more bitcoin from bounties!!

Again, exchanging merit can develop the relation at least business relation between the members of bitcointalk forum.

We would say you are helping your friend and give you negative trust.

If your friends posts such crap that only you will like it, he probably shouldn't be here, right?

If he posts great content that people like, he will get merit on his own.
Thanks I would keep that in mind .

Thanks didn't see that there is a thread that is similar to my question.

When you say your ‘friend’ I highly suspect that you mean your alt which is totally against the rules & your trust will be painted red if you’re found to be doing that.

Play by the rules & you’ll get Smerit for your own high quality, constructive posting.

There are no shortcuts here brother.

There are some users who would suspect us that we are only one user with a plenty of accounts.
To be honest I really think that it is hard to receive a merit from a random forum user's I have seen some threads or answer to their threads that are really helpful but didn't receive some merits.

If your friend has made a quality post, you may give him a merit point. But giving him merits for useless posts is suspicious.
