Pick the sellers with good rating and not too many dumb conditions, if it feels like scum, don't use it, better to be left with the money you have but without BTC, than lose all of it
ever thought of Bitcoin ATMs? try and find one somewhere around you
but telegram exchange is pretty much local bitcoins in a different interface, so you might consider that as an option

As I know scam on telegram pretty much, how to recognize this?
The best thing to do is to stay away from trading on telegram or following the guidelines provided by people on Telegram. The pre-emptive move, if you decide to explore it regardless, is to read through the numerous scam cases documented by users both within and outside of this forum. In this same thread you have some referenced threads to read and understand the perils and the cases that one fall for, but if you search around you’ll find many more.

What usually happens is that one enters a Telegram group innocently (or whatnot), acting as a complete newbie to it all, thinking that he has found a friendly hand, only to find that he has walked into a den of thieves and ends up getting skin. Nothing different to real life…

Most of the users have a telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok? Or it's more likely to get scammed when using outsourcing of the forum to trade?

Trading on Telegram is not an easy one because of lack of trust. Very few of the trade has come through for those who manage to the risk.  So many people have fall victim of been scammed. I have done a few of them using www.freelancer.com as an intermediary between me and the person. Freelancer is a well known and trusted site where workers and employers meet to arrange for work or task and payment so that there will not be a bridge of agreement at the end of the day. It allows both of you to open an account, the employer will transfer its money to the site for payment of task done after due assessment of the work. If there is any bridge of agreement you can raise a dispute for the site to release your money to you.

No trade is risk free really. This forum used to have a very active "minimarket" based on reputation, escrow and a few other built in mechanism... trust, etc... Telegram does not give you anything like this.

Telegraph transactions must be based on mutual trust, as OTC transactions will not be protected and you may lose your money at any time!

Where you trade doesn't really matter, it's how you trade and the measures taken while trading,it could be on the forum,on telegram or even facebook, but the other party must and should have a bitcoin talk account
And you'll do yourself good to scrutinize the account thoroughly, going through the feedbacks and trust rating...
If it hasn't gotten any blemish, then you can carry out the transaction with a third party trusted escrow service that'll be the umpire in the transaction...

If the account has numerous negative feedback/red trust, you can abstain from the transaction, but If you must go on with it, make sure you use the escrow service(Trusted)

The risk of been scammed on Telegram is high and I would not advise you trade on it. There are reputable and trusted exchange out there that you can trade on either fiat to crypto or crypto to crypto.

Only 2 situations that will happen and 1 solution. First, you may get scammed and lose your profit if the other party is thinking that s/he will scam you and you won't get anything. Second, you may trade successfully traded with or without help from escrow service. The one solution is always use a trusted and well known escrow service when you're trading if you really want to be safe from possible scams that might/will happen to you. It doesn't matter where you trade whether this forum, telegram or social medias like facebook and twitter.

at the beginning using telegram was quite easy and helpful for getting news, being updating, trading and following the projects i liked. Lately i have found myself on channels that are only scam, absolutely useless and so i do not feel safe to trade on telegram since i do not have any security on the trading.
i have been using Binance, kraken and Kucoin moinstly. tried poloniex and hyobi as well, but the first three i find myself more comfortable.
to do the cash out i use Coinbase Pro with has less, almost no fees, of course, any platform has pro and contra and you have to try and find the one you feel better

as i know telegram is usually used for trading by people who just need BTC right now to pay for smth - like you buy on one of bestexchange websites. But there is no protection for user - you can get scamed very easy. So better trade on market to protect yourself from loosing money by scammers

It doesn't matter what platform you do do your trades on it only matters who you do it with.
Can you tell us more about the kind of trades you want to get involved in?
Were you contacted by individuals asking for contributions/investments with promises of high rewards on telegram? In that case it is not safe to get involved with such individuals.

Make sure the person you want to trade with has an account here and not just claiming to have an account. Tell him to PM you with the telegram ID where the trade will be done. That way you gave written proof in case something goes wrong, he will be tagged/banned.
Always keep logs of your conversations especially relating to addresses.

Keep away from self-moderated threads UNLESS the owner is trusted and has a higher rank. Remember in self-moderated threads the creator can easily delete the posts he/she doesn't like.

Use an escrow if there is a lot of money involved, check the marketplace and services section for escrows. If the person you are dealing with doesn't want to use an escrow it is not a good sign.

Always make sure to check the reputation of the user and if he has been involved with or accused of scamming in the past.

I'm not sure what the trade is exactly, but I have a thread I use to assist people with their [WTS] ads. It's also good for buyers as it gives them an idea of what to look for. [WTS] advice

One of my tips is to continue discussion out in the open on the forum, it doesn't have to be all the details but a clear image that an agreement has been made. Makes it easier to prove who has been wronged should something go awry.

Generally people with hacked/stolen/or throwaway accounts (newbie/jr. member) want to do this as it's easier to run a scam off site. With something like telegram they have the opportunity to make you feel rushed or pressured I have found.

Regardless of what's involved I communicate on forum and use forum escrow. I would suggest taking some time to go through the marketplace check out the stickied topics, and different sections like goods and currency exchange. These areas will give you an idea of best practices.

Any kinds of trades can be done possibly at any platforms.

What you must have is, be attentive and cautious at all time. Used your common sense to analyzed things and don't be easily fooled with such words.

To sort your concern, do you already have some list of examples of groups where trades are done?

<...>
Take a look at some simple threads on the matter at hand:

Telegram bot - scam
New Telegram Scam!!
Telegram Scam Group "Bitmex free signals" @Peter806 @Andrew012
BEWARE: Telegram Scam
Telegram scam
Beware: scam (?) telegram group

Those are just a few examples of scam accusations made here on the forum related to Telegram. Some are straight forward one to one scams (i.e. send me xx BTC and I will give you yy BTC after a few days), whilst others are group Pump and Dump scams that will make you lose a fair share in benefit of the promoters.

The Forum is no guarantee at all either, although you can feel a bit safer if the account you trade with has a high trust value (Trust is a forum feature, see Marketplace trust). You need to be very wary at all times, and it should deem much safer using the exchanges and then keeping your crypto of a device such as Ledger Nano S or Trezor.

What kind of trade you are pertaining to? Collectibles?Goods?Services?

Trade in general is quite big, so I'm just guessing in a way that you are pertaining in Crypto trading. First of all, Do not trust anyone in this industry especially in this forum, a lot would definitely try to scam you in every possible way same goes with any other social media tools, including Telegram.

There are trading platform sites which are legit, just care to research about some of it. Well, as per my personal experience I do trade using this sites.
1. Bittrex
2. Binance
3. Poloniex
4. Coins.ph - Trading platform

Other than that, Never ask someone to make trade for you. I'm 100% sure that you'll regret it.

For the form of trade, Let say collectibles and etc. Normally some of the sellers here (which has a history of good transactions) do use of any form of social media tool to communicate with you privately and consistently to conduct the deal, hence, like @coyster said be careful on whom you are conducting trade with a green trust member is highly advisable and somehow rank do matter in this point. Avoid dealing with newbie rank member, there's a high possibility that you'll get scammed.

I hope this answers your question.

The risk of you getting scammed on telegram on any other social media platform are very high. One telegram is a social media platform that is not liable for any cryptocurrency scammed related offenses that is to say if you get duped on that platform you are solely on your own.

Many users or on the platform that quite correct and it mostly used by icos project, bounty hunters managers and many more crypto related activities. So tuning a trade on that platform even with an escrow can be catastrophic on the long run. Is best to trade on the correct platforms like exchanges and probably if you want to do peer to peer transcation employ a reputable escrow with over 100 positive trust level

You can trade directly with individuals on any platform,be it this forum or on telegram, thats not what matters the most..

What is of utmost importance is that when you're trading directly with an individual, its always pertinent and germane to use an escrow(TRUSTED)service that'll act as a third party in the transactions,so in case anything goes wrong you'll not be losing your money..

But take note that user rank on the forum does not emit trust, the 3rd party must be reputable on the forum and his trust rating must show that as well

Go through those links and you shouldn't have much of a problem completing your transaction
