Well there is this incident that just happened to the site Safedice
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/important-your-password-may-have-been-stolen-1902543

So it can happened to any site no matter how secure and safe they say they are.
Always change your account passwords and do not fall victim to phising attempts with emails from these sites asking you to change your password. Because you just changed it!  Roll Eyes
So you know they are bogus emails that are not from the company in question. Undecided
I don't think it is incident in safe dice, if you read that topic you will see players used phishing site and fake bot for bitsler and gave their passwords away.
It has nothing to do with safety of site.

It is possible to hack any websites or in particular gambling website. After all it is the human who has created all these things so their might be one mistake(bug) that you may notice but others cant. There is a term called Social Engineering this is all about collecting information from different living sources of the target , if the site cannot be hacked by the remote access. It is all the game of knowledge.

Protecting your passwords from those hackers is not easy but we have to be careful and should take proper care while setting your passwords in gambling sites and other personal websites. I have seen that many websites just store our passwords in plain text and that will be a gold for hackers.

I think where we keep our money in that websites they will provide very strong security to our passwords and store in the unbreakable database. Just storing in plain text is really a gold for hackers but I think no websites will do this kind of mistakes all sites will give well be secured with the strong database. But nothing is impossible if hackers decided to hack any site they would make it.

It's too hard and the people that manage to hack gambling websites, sell the exploits on the deep web as zero day exploits for very high prices, or keep it to themselves and keep using the exploit until it gets fixed, so this is a business within itself with very experienced people trying to find exploits 24/7, so as an amateur forget about it.

I don't understand why there are people that are thinking this way. Why not they just work out for themselves so that they won't be robbing casino's just for their own happiness or in the first place why they need to gamble. And with those exploits, I really don't believe with those people that are selling in the deep web, most of them are scam.

One thing you should see is in them that wants gambling. The main cause of many people doing gambling is because they have confidence just gambling that can give you an advantage in a short time. Because many types of gambling ads that say that they have a place that give you an advantage, it is the right thing but many are swallowing that raw information. So that makes them not playing the elegant way

Yes. Most are scams and probably even contain malware, viruses and remote access trojans of all kinds, but the legit ones are very real. There is big business being done in the deep web with zerodays, and of course, it gets all funded with bitcoin.

Yeah people from there are going to give you a lot of problems, instead of sending what they are offering. They will send you those crazy things because their offers are just bogus. And for those people that thinks to cheat against the system, there's no need to hack and cheat them because if you are a gambler you know that you are killing the company if you did this.

People now prioritize more for their benefits so we should be careful on dealing anything. We should take extra care on our stuffs and details to avoid hackers. Same with gambling ,anything internet related is prone to get attacked.

We are all familiar with the the term that "coin has two side" so no one thing on internet is not safe in the technological area. Some people are busy with creating new site and some people are busy with unlocking those site. It's a matter of morality.
So every site of Internet has some threat of hacking including gambling site. So it can be happened.

2FA is the key for the safety of the account in all kind of gambling site. But i think the OP means hacking the Casino itself and not it's user. Because it is more easier to hack user rather than the website. AFAIK, there are few cases that casino has been hack and some of that cases is just an escape reason to runaway.

I think you need also don't save your real password and always don't stay your funds in the site if its not really safe to save it..
Better to go in safe place or gambling casino where you can gamble without worrying like many site with promotion here in forum .. most of the trusted site are almost who are in the signature campaign..
Definitely your righr better not to save our real password in many casino's here and also a gmail. Don't even bother to create a acccount that have the same password of your email account. Well tha ks that i not encounter that problem in safedice and still my account login details is appropriate

possible if you are expert in terms hacking the security can be penetrated so it's very risky better to avoid such activities and hacking sites and retrieving their somethings is a cybercrime act that has a criminal law.

Absolutely right. When someone is doing the action of the cybercrime then that you are dealing directly with the criminal law. Where each person doing it won't be safe to do something, for the personal information data and also the perpetrators of cybercrime will certainly be fast. Because all countries have all the data of its citizens, so it will not be difficult. But indeed there are now several groups of cybercrime that has a pretty good strategy, so when they finished doing hacking then they will eliminate the trail

It's called a natural behaviour of a certain person that resides in their bad side of the brain.

Shortcut to earn big that's why they will do everything to make that happen. As you can see, even a professional and technical person uses their knowledge to hacked something instead of applying it on something useful or find a work related to their expertise. That's why for a gambling site, even it's not avoidable, their security must not be easily breached by something.

It is and has been possible for a users account with a bankroll to be hacked into or to have their password comprised.
So in a way it is quite possible in that sense.
But to hack a gambling site would be very difficult but it has happened where bitcoin has been taken off the site or from the casinos cold wallet.
Happened to all casinos in way or another as with both instances I have listed.
Largest one to date has got to be from now defuncted cloudbet where it happened to them late 2015 and early in 2016.

It certainly is possible, I've found an exploit on a traditional gambling site a while back.

The exploit basically allowed you to double or tripple your payout and payouts were processed automatically on specific days.
The entire site was built in Flash, so that probably had something to do with it :p

I did report the exploit and was given some balance on the website Smiley

ofcourse it's possible but it will be hard maybe you need some expert knowledge and a team to do that. remember this security is just an illusion . so ifyou're planning to hack some gambling site learn how to deal the risk with in. cybercrime is not a joke so get ready to face what will be the risk and the crime you commited if you do that hacking. why dont just play ? don't ever try to do that.
no system is safe , that is what will people say and it is true there will always a bugs to break . i don't know what exactly op want by discussing this but if he means about security measure/precaution then i think the only one who able to speak about this the professional one , not speculators .

i will not surprised if right now when the bitcoin price skyrocketed there will be a lot of hacking attempts, always becareful!
It's good to educate ourselves on both positive and negative aspects that would affect bitcoin gambling sites, hacking is possible because it has happened before so we should not trust all our money, instead we learn to diversify both our investment funds and every time we bet.

I believe not all funds are kept in their hot wallet
At least half should be kept in a cold wallet, that is basically hack-proof
Also, websites containing millions of $ in bitcoins probably thought about security and invested significant funds into security
Which makes them hard to hack, ofcourse it can be done, it requires a lot of skills you won't be able to obtain in a few years time
You'd also need to be able to hide your traces if you don't want to end up in jail

Nothing is unhackable, I guess. But there is really not much point in hacking gambling sites as most of their hot wallets contain pretty low amount and they surely don't store their cold wallets in their servers. I also agree that the websites have invested a lot of money to prevent this kinds of hacks, so it would be easy but probably doable.
I agree, most gamblings sites are already aware on the possibility of getting hacked thats why they do really secure up their hot wallets even though it has stored small amounts but its really important to aim focus on this thing so that players will see that the site is reliable against on these kind of attacks.Any site is really hackable depending on the security strength.
