Yes a bit risky than investing in old popular coins like XMR or LTC, it's still possible If you can do very good research on new projects and take only limited risks that's within your reach and you will be fine, as for myself I'm obsessed with new projects that have potential, one is chainlink and another is Tezos, do your own research
I think all crypto investments are risky. And speaking of a new token or coin, yes it ia so risky without knowing the project if it has a potential for making a good product outcome when the project is done. Inveating on a new coin is always risky such that many investors have not earn after the token is being listed on market, although there are also some that earns.

There are some good project but we have to ready for the risks we might encounter when investing in new crypto. Risks is always so we have to be keen observing and conduct a further research the whole project.

having a reason that you didnt know about anything on one thing isnt a valid excuse anymore but investing on an ico isnt the only way to get rich too and also to become rich you need to have a big capital . sounds not easy isnt ? i like it when you said try something new because im sick and tired of people saying invest on older projects and stuff like that .
I can say investment on cryptocurrency is high risk especially invest on new coin. If want to short time investment i think its okay you may gain a profit from it. But, make sure you invest on top coin like BTC, ETH and etc.
Of course it is very risky to invest in altcoins basing on my experience where up to now money become a shit token and never had gone to exchange. So probably this people here think that this coins/tokens they are promoting are good or even if they know that it is scam still promote the project by getting even a small chance that they will get paid.

The purpose of the ICO has been defeated already and up to now there is nothing we can do for the scammers but to do a hard research before investing or it is better not to invest in altcoin at all. Basically, investing in new altcoins is risky. If you have the knowledge of choosing new projects then I believe you will be okay with it, but if you invest without the knowledge, I believe that you will take failure very quickly.
Of course it's risky ti invest in new crytpo coin/tokens. Not only new crytpo coin/tokens but also old coins/tokens are risky to invest in. Thus you should have a good plan to manage your fund and have a stop loss level which you can accept it easily.

now it is indeed very risky to invest in new coins. the market is not very friendly with new projects, this is what makes it very difficult now. plus the requirements for listing are also quite heavy. making new coins does not have an ecosystem that is conducive to growth. at the end of new coins only listing on exchanges that have a bad reputation and low trading volume. and it slowly disappears without any chance of getting investor attention.
New cryptocurrencies have different risks so it is not good to conclue that all of them have high risks. Anyway in order for you to identify a specific coin if it is risky or not, is simply by being aware on your intellectual capacity. If you do not have enough knowledge on it then it is risky investment but if you know it then you can minimize the risks and you can able to protect and grow your capital. If you want to invest in new cryptocurrency, make sure that it had high market capitalization and high liquidity in order for you to get in and out in the market easily.
I think I will say it is 90% risky to invest in new altcoins. My own reason is none than the current nature of most altcoins Coming up, wherein they don't have anything good to offer, lacks adequate use case, some are even copied from those that are existing etc, so altcoins with this type of nature aren't good for investing or rather aren't good for holding long term. Also, what to know is, most of these coins pumps massively at the on set thus creating the impression that they are good but then comes crashing. So in conclusion I would say, if one really want to hold for long term, then major coins are good for that, while if one want to hold for short term probably for quick profit, then new altcoins can serve the purpose.
Nothing to say that crypto investment is safe but it all says is a risky and much more if we are investing new coins. Why? Well, that is pretty obvious how these new coins run, actually, most of them are shit and almost dying. Things that we can't ignore that investing new coins will give us nothing in the end but just a lose one. I don't say they are all shit and no market value but that is hard to find a promising coin out from hundreds of shitcoins, you'll get lucky if you buy new coin/s that it soars high.
This what I say, if you have money to invest crypto and really wanting assurance, better to choose the top-listed coins in the market. New coins are cheap but don't be fooled on their price coz you can expect that their value will rise but instead it sinks.
