I would not for KYC for unknown airdrop just to get some coins, I only do it for verified ICOs. Personal information is extremely important. I will consider carefully before sending it.
Always think many times before providing your IDs. ICOs can turn up to be scams and at the end of the day you might not recieve tokens but they will have your details. Don't give your details for that low sums of money

It's both safe and not safe. Depends on the project you submit to. I don't like kyc and I try to stay away from it by all means.
That's a pretty cheap opportunity to scrape potential ID fraud material.

You will gamble your identity for just a tiny amount of money? It is never okay to give your personal information to anyone because he might use it for evil purposes like scamming other people.
Kyc itself helps in safeguarding the personal matters of you and if it is needed then give it that will be better

This question does not have a good answer. Most ICO's will use a third party service to perform the KYC check, and there are really only 3 big companies who do this. However your information will pass through the ICO's servers and the third party servers. The safety of your data will come down to the security measures each stop along the line uses.
Best to limit your exposure to only the projects you believe in the most.

It's a pretty big NO these days to even post ANY personal details on ever the biggest clue chip companies that are SUPPOSED to be secure but turn out not to be, generally following by a series of phishing attacks and so the ball rolls.. So, I would advise anyone never to submit legal documents, anywhere - and definitely not on an ICO website..
Really, passport? I was hoping that other ID would suffice for most bounties and airdrops. I don't know if I am comfortable giving away my passport info out there. Will have to look for bounties that prefer other types of IDs..

sharing personal details for a petty sum is as good as not caring about your personal details. not recommended

Not recommended, for 5$ it will worth more than you can lose if someone uses your identity its too confidential to use it just for kyc.. Simple id will do it isnt necesarry to provide all you documents i guess.
Of course not,why would you risk your personal informations that can be used into something else? if these people are going to sell your IDs into deepweb? why would use risk your identity for the sake of some pennies? airdrop shouldnt required any IDs or verifications,nor your private keys because clearly they are into something that is why they are asking for your IDs.
