After this hong kong theft,

I would wait till it drops lower.

After some days now it's clear that it had no impact of Bitcoin's price.

It gave quite a bit of publicity to Bitcoin, though.

OP, get yourself a little bit of BTC, like less than 100$ worth. Just attaining it is a whole process in itself.

Then learn about security. Become paranoid! Thieves are everywhere, your computer may already be infested with malware that will steal your coins. Don't let a hard lesson also be very expensive.

Start small, I believe you have about 2 years in which the price of BTC may go much lower than today, for sure it will fluctuate quite a bit.

If you intend to trade BTC also start small, learn not to get burnt.

There is so much to learn, and so many scams, that it will take you a few months of trial and error to get your footing.

Once you feel you know the ropes, then, by all means invest more, but never invest more than you can afford to lose.

see this --->  http://bitforum.info/t/give-bitcoin-two-years-said-andreas-antonopoulos/247?u=angelo  if you feel impatient. Andreas is pretty much one of the wisest BTC people out there. When he speaks people listen, and for good reason.

good luck
that is actually a very good hint. Myself, I was first reading and learning and then started to practice and so missed the train in November 2013. I missed that opportunity, but there are plenty of similar opportunities around now, and supposedly there will be some more ahead of us. So nothing is lost, no need to rush, as rushing you may lose more than you plan. Do not go all in, just a little bit of play money. Learn about security, transactions and once you feel comfortable make your own decisions on when to sell/buy.

Any time is great for buying btc but if you're thinking about money making opportunities only than it is the right time as the price is relatively low to what I hope it will be the next year.

yes, but for know I think is it the right time to buying on btc
and hold for long time.

Hold it forever. Maybe your grandchildren would be pretty lucky to sell it for you after your death. But on the serious note I am fully confident that you can earn on bitcoin not only by holding it. I would not like to say it is easy with shifting market but you can earn by buying cheap and selling when price will rise.

Also, it seems worth noting that it's pretty much inevitable not to get burnt when one begins trading Tongue
The hardest part is learning to distance your emotions from the trading process.

After this hong kong theft,

I would wait till it drops lower.

Reading the thread, it seems it has nothin to do with BTC stolen.
So it is safe to assume it won't affect it.

It doesn't really matter if news are true or not, most of th time is the rumor which leads to confusion and psychological fear, that can trigger a price drop, so keep your eyes open.

well, there will be always some negative news, so that you can possibly buy lower, or never buy.
The price has been hoovering around $220 for quite some time and somewhere around this level could be a solid buy.
If you are afraid of price suddenly dropping, you may considering entering in several parts to average the price.

Hasn't this been debunked as fake news by now? Could have also been a ruse to get people to heavily panic and thus trigger the final sell-off before starting a sustainable trend-reversal! Let's wait and see what this day looks like in retrospect!

Considering this thread was made months ago... OP should be glad he didn't invest. As of investing right now, yes its good, if you think this is the bottom. Don't complain if it goes lower tho, such is live in the bitcoinland.

I believe it will be lower than 200 for sure, even struggle with 100-120 $, but doubt there will be place for much volume.
Its smartest to wait, unless you cant stand to miss out on a possibility.
Im waiting for ~100$ per bitcoin if it happens, if not, i can live with that..

cheers

At this moment I believe a lot of 'weak hands' have sold their stash already. The price is now in an interesting phase and some people claim that we can't go down any further and the selling-pressure is decreasing. It's difficult to tell. You should definitely make up you own mind and not listen to people blindly. Take a look at the speculation-forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0

yes this is the time when the btc price is lowest....invest in it and wait till it reaches $300 then split all the balance to other cryptocurrencys

I think this whole year is good for investment. Buy btc as much as you can at that low price and then wait for the next year when price will go to above 600$
