The fees for Btc transactions have been down again so there's no problem anymore if it's going to be compared with Litecoin or any other altcoins.

It's too far to compare LTC with Bitcoin because LTC is ranked 19th and there are still many altcoins that are better than LTC.
Regardless of the rank, there's no need for these two to be compared. LTC is actually a good alternative whenever transfer fees of BTC is high and the congestion is crazy for BTC's network.

What I know is that one of the factors that increase transaction fees is transaction density. The denser the transactions, the transaction fees will increase. This means that Bitcoin transactions are getting busier and this also means that Bitcoin users and popularity are increasing. what I see is that LTC's popularity continues to decline, but being able to stay in the top 20 CMC is an extraordinary achievement. It's too far to compare LTC with Bitcoin because LTC is ranked 19th and there are still many altcoins that are better than LTC.

If Litecoin will become popular again, it will not be because of the fact that the transaction fees of Bitcoin is too expensive because there are many other options as well that's way cheaper than that of Litecoin.
While I haven't seen any coins cheaper than LTC (show me one with fees lower than 0.00001 USD Wink ) I somewhat agree with you here, and partly also with the rest of your post. Litecoin seems to be a bit "off" the "attention game" where altcoins search the spotlight all the time.

Nevertheless, its popularity seems not to be declining - here I disagree. Apocallapse has already shown the transaction chart, and if you go backwards in time, you'll see that the transaction count is in fact increasing every year. Litecoin is the most popular payment coin, and this is in fact something new, because it has surpassed Bitcoin as recently as early 2024. (In 2014 or so when everybody talked about LTC, LTC had in fact ten times less transactions per day than nowadays).

And regarding its ranking per market cap, it's the only altcoin existing in 2011-13 which still ranks in the top 25 (or top 20 if you only count L1s). So the comparison with EOS (launched in 2017 or 2018, declining steadily) is not really convincing. Remember that also Doge is part of Litecoin's ecosystem - it's merged mined so it can't exist without LTC. Together, Doge and LTC would have a firm Top-10 marketcap.

The "problem" however of LTC is that it is not mentioned very frequently when talked about as a an investment. Since MWEB there were also no really interesting upgrades. The "altcoin circus" lives from spectacular news, from the next "Bitcoin killer" and "breakthroughs", and that's not something LTC can provide now, even if these "breakthroughs" are mostly fake (I don't consider Solana, for example, a big tech achievement) and no coin has "killed" Bitcoin.

I think a real problem is also that there are few P2P options to buy LTC directly with fiat, basically only forums and an old P2P exchange I don't even want to link here anymore because of how dead and untrustworthy it looks. If I would give an advice to the LTC community it would be to develop such a service or lobby to include it in other P2P exchanges. I guess even P2P exchanges would profit because of the cheap transaction fees, which would it make easy to buy small quantities of crypto, to enter the crypto space without major risk.

Bitcoin's transaction fees have been huge once again, so my question is really if Litecoin can shine again when Bitcoin transactions are too expencife?

Or will Litecoin continue to be forgotten?
If Litecoin will become popular again, it will not be because of the fact that the transaction fees of Bitcoin is too expensive because there are many other options as well that's way cheaper than that of Litecoin.

I don't know if it's just me, but I barely hear anything about Litecoin right now. I mean it's like when Ethereum will have an upgrade, many will talk about it and it's potential effects. With Litecoin, there's nothing at all. It's popularity right now is slowly decreasing, and it might come to a point where it will just go down and down and down in the top 50 or even top 100. I'm not saying though that the project is a failure because after all, it has been at the top for a very long time, and it's one of the oldest coin that's on the top currently.

It will not be completely forgotten, but I believe that Litecoin will have the same track as how EOS lost it's popularity as well. I don't also believe that it will surpass it's previous ATH in 2021.

It's best to have several choices for alternative transactions. Litecoin is a good alternative, to be honest, and when someone is having trouble with the high fees of BTC, LTC is still a way to go.
With how high bitcoin fees are at this point there are a lot of coins that are good alternatives. Especially if you are constantly making small transactions.

But this time, the fees for Bitcoin have gone down and there's no problem anymore for those that would like to do transactions. Although, it's still quite high compared to before the halving came.
It went down but it is not still as accessible for everyone. It is still ridiculously high even if it came down. This problem needs to be addressed properly because if not I know that the fees would just get higher and higher.

Litecoin will be more popular for use as a means of payment with relatively lower transaction costs compared to bitcoin. But I'm not entirely sure Litecoin will be the first altcoin to be widely used as a means of payment as long as bitcoin transaction fees are expensive - of course because there are many other low-cost altcoin options that may also attract attention.

The good point today is - Litecoin is an altcoin with low transaction fees compared to bitcoin, but Litecoin's performance in the market is not as good as bitcoin and many other altcoins. It's possible that Litecoin will see increased demand over time - but that's in line with the growth of the bitcoin market.

But think about it - how confident are you in choosing Litecoin as a long-term investment when its current price is still very low compared to the previous ATH in 2021, while bitcoin already hit a new ATH some time ago?

What is the all-time high for Litecoin (LTC)?
The highest price paid for Litecoin (LTC) is $410.26, which was recorded on May 10, 2021 (almost 3 years). Comparatively, the current price is -79.98% lower than the all-time high price.

Litecoin is one of the pioneering cryptocurrencies that has not been removed from the top listed in the market. So I don't believe what you say. It may be quiet for now but you will see when Bitcoin's rally comes you will be surprised what LTC can do.

For me LTC is okay. He is not my only priority to collect crypto, but what I prioritize is the low price that has potential and is also on the list of potential altcoins in the market that can give me future profit.

Generally, Bitcoin movements will greatly influence altcoins too, including Litecoin. After experiencing a huge drop in the market after the halving, Bitcoin finally started to recover at the beginning of this month. Even though it's not very significant, the fact that the price of Bitcoin remains at a rate of around $63k is very impressive. And this affected several altcoins which also experienced quite good increases.

However, for Litecoin, it looks like it still needs more time to rise. Yes, as we know, Litecoin is no longer what it used to be, so its movement is really optimal and fast. LTC has even reached rank 20 and this is something that is not big enough for this old coin. Yes, there are many other altcoins that are increasingly developing and offering higher advantages. So, it seems that LTC has enough time to develop that fast and its movement on the market is still as slow as it is.

Litecoin is only remember whenever the price of Bitcoin is high and people will be using it to do some transactions and store some coins because the transaction fee of Bitcoin is high and after when everything has come back to normalcy then they would go back to their normal wallets again. And everyone would forget Litecoin again. Litecoin is just like a supportive coin in the ecosystem because they only use it when the transaction fee is high.
That's true for a non-regular Litecoin user although there are still some of them who knows that this coin exists and still one of the leading cryptos up to this date. There are also people who continue using Bitcoin even though its fees are not normal anymore. Litecoin is like any other crypto which is also an asset, this is why some will prefer to keep it because they believe on the potential of the coin.

There might be users who starts to appreciate Litecoin, right after they tried it for the first, second, xxxx... time around. This is cute and we can say that some issues we think like the rise in transaction fee are like a blessing in disguise too.

The problem is not that transaction fees are expensive, but frankly accepting that bitcoin's price increase helps altcoins (LTC,....) all benefit.

IMO, I also quite like choosing LTC in periods of price increase, especially after bitcoin halving, switching to investing in altcoins brings better profit performance, but at periods like this, the volatility of the market increases suspicion but also comes with the opportunity to buy at a low price. Anyway, each person will have a different plan to approach the market, so just do whatever feels right.

Are you still depending on only BTC investment, small issues like this will always affect your plan because whenever you notice that the BTC transactions fees is high, you can continue hodling your BTC or you want to buy from the market, you can exercise patience for the high fees to reduce before you can buy and hodl.

And, if you have invested in altcoins and you see some challenges like this with BTC, you can transact with your altcoins to use the money to solve your problems which is the reason many people use to invest in different coins in the market to overcome some challenges like this.

If your funds are still in the Litecoin, you don't need to worry because their team will do something that will make people to know that they are still working to help their customers to earn from their investment to encourage other people to show interest.

Saw a rumors that litecoin founder mentioned that LTC ETF is also coming. I am not sure this was a joke or what it was as people are already expecting that there won't be any ETF approval for ETH right now. Speculator already cashed the news and that is the reason ETH is still dumping after bitcoin made an all time high. This is not something normal and there can be anything. But it is true that ETF related news has a impact on the market is the affecting the whole altcoin community.

Lite coin has always been a good project we can always hold and invest in but the price sometimes can keep fluctuating due to the way the crypto market has ranging. I see the Lite as a good project to hold while waiting for the bull trend to continue the bull run.
One of the things I like about the project is the network fee which is very low compared to others Blockchains that require you to pay more just to move your coin to another wallet address.

Bitcoin's transaction fees have been huge once again,
Not anymore. This was a temporary phenomenon.

Fees seemingly coming right down, well, until the next round of pathetic jpeg spamming.

so my question is really if Litecoin can shine again when Bitcoin transactions are too expencife?
This is very unlikely. If this had been possible, then during the time when bitcoin transactions were expensive, we would have seen a jump in demand for litecoin, but this didn't happen (this would affect the cost).

Or will Litecoin continue to be forgotten?
I assume this will continue to be the case. If you are considering litecoin as a cheap alternative to bitcoin, then there are many cheaper and faster (more technologically advanced), as well as popular altcoins that are better suited for this role.

It seems to me that litecoin is outdated, not popular and not in demand, this most often leads to oblivion.

I do not think that Litecoin goes up when there is a problem with bitcoin fee's, but the reality is that we are seeing it grow more and more, and I think it's clear that we are going to end up with Litecoin going up anyway. So, if it isn't the fee situation then what makes litecoin go up?

Well, the fact is that it has been one of the most trustworthy investment there is for over a decade, it was created in 2011 if I remember right, and it has been doing quite well for the past 13 years, that seems like a good reason to keep it going. I understand we may not get anything crazy for it, but we should consider the fact that we are going to make a good amount of money yet again, because that is always been the case for bitcoin for a long time now.

Bitcoin high transaction fees is just but for the moment, once correction have been made the transaction fee will be okay.Litecoin has been forgotten and do you think that Bitcoin high transaction fees will make Bitcoin lose it values, nah nah that's impossible,if it were to be so there are other altcoins in the crypto space that has low transaction fees but even as that Bitcoin still remain a store of value.Bitcoin holders might just use Litecoin due to it's low transaction fee for transactions since the transaction fee of Bitcoin is high but its not safe for investment.

Litecoin could have another surge in popularity & a buying spree for sure. The fact that it’s still here & functioning as it should be shows its strength. It’s obviously never going to flip Bitcoin but there is definitely a good chance Litecoin pumps hard in the upcoming bull run.
I still consider Litecoin, a top altcoin anyday, it's not a shitcoin, so it's still worth holding, we're experiencing price dip in Bitcoin and altcoins, and when Bitcoin starts to bull and activates altcoins bull run too, we'll hopefully see Litecoin, shine again. People say that Litecoin, is remembered anytime that Bitcoin transaction fees begins to hit the roof, and if Bitcoin transaction fees normalizes, then Litecoin, is relegated again, I think that it might not rival Bitcoin, but if it's dev. team is able to add innovations to it, we might see an ATH in the future.

If you are still having sense then you shall aware if there are plenty of scalable altcoins available in the market.
This is wrong. These altcoins are not "scalable", they are only trading centralization for more transaction density. Solana is basically like Bitcoin SV, a coin with nearly unlimited blocksize. It's the dream of big blockers.

I've recently read that almost nobody is able to run an non-pruned full Solana node because the blockchain is over 100 TB big (the 100 TB estimation was in 2022). Not even stakers know the state history down to the genesis block, so this potentially exposes the blockchain to all types of unknown Nothing-at-stake style attacks.

Litecoin has potentially unlimited TPS because it supports Lightning.

Litecoin will continue to be forgotted. Look at how liquidt gets centralized into the blockchain with so many utilities. Litecoin can be only used for send or receive your money only. This is a garbage coin now if you compare the utilities of litecoin to the another blockchain.
On EVM blockchains like Solana you can have DEXes, to trade tokens of other DEXes Wink It would be interesting how many transactions on Solana are actual value transactions and not some circlejerk.

Solana blockchain is also known to be halted every couple of months due to some strange bugs or problems. This cannot happen at LTC as its PoW is proven and reliable. Ethereum for example also is much more reliable.

Tokens of any kind are available on Bitcoin-style blockchains like Litecoin too - since about 2013. It's actually a bit a pity that LTC has mostly seen adoption of the worst possible* token standard, BRC-20, and the "meh" standard Runes, and not something more modern like RGB, but adoption work of RGB or Taproot Assets to Litecoin should not be difficult.

*well, Stampchain SRC-20 and Doginals are even worse, see the gazillon of threads about Ordinals.

I don't think it so if Litecoin will be forgotten in the future or it Will forgotten now. Cause we all know that Litecoin is one of the best altcoins, especially nowadays there's a chance that it will be shine soon as possible. But for now lite coin is stable so if we have the investment if it then in the near future we will get a good profits. Let's do some analysis so that we can decide what we are going to do.  If we trust Litecoin or not but for me I have trust with it cause I know I will not regret.

then why litecoin? Many altcoins also have very low transaction fees. I think high or low bitcoin transaction fees will not affect the price of Litecoin because currently there are also a lot of altcoins with low transaction fees. Litecoin is starting to be forgotten not because of Bitcoin transaction fees, but because it is less popular than other altcoins.
Bitcoin played a major role in the system, we should do our best to make earnings relevant for us. Litecoin is categorized to be altcoin and have done some good pumps in the past years but thinking of the project having a chance to shine again is questionable. Litecoin have their own path to make enormous traffics in the system but we ought to be careful because any careless mistake will make one become a victim of huge loss, and trust me when I say, nobody wants that for him or herself.
