Bitcoin Cultist ....

So in your opinion , China and Iran have been banning bitcoin mining , not to protect their power grids, like they said,
but just as a way to mess with bitcoiners.

Keep thinking that right until the majority of countries have banned bitcoin mining.  Cheesy

You know it is not like people have not been warning bitcoiners about the increasing energy waste since 2013.

How many Bank branches have been banned to protect the power grids, not one.

Banks usage is spread out over multiple power grids, they don't drop the majority of their energy usage on just a few grids
like Bitcoin PoW miners.

Any grid, that has half a country energy usage added by btc miners within a year will buckle under the strain.
I would say , you might get a clue , when your grid collapses, but the truth is the Government officials will have no choice but to ban bitcoin mining way before that happens as China and Iran are doing.
Enjoy your bitcoiner cultist beliefs , until all of the bitcoin mining is banned.

FYI:
Solutions to the Bitcoin PoW energy issues are:
1. All Bitcoin PoW mining is just banned.
2. Convert to PoS
3. Regulate the location and max energy usage of Bitcoin Mining warehouse so their are never enough to cause a power grid collapse.  * Example, The current energy usage would have to be cut by a factor of 5X.*

The threat is in the form of increasing global warming which results in climate change. Generating Bitcoin requires a capable computer to solve complex mathematical puzzles and high electricity consumption. so that some countries prohibit mining for several other reasons such as in China and Iran some time ago. if so will bitacoin and others be able to run forever or is this just an excuse to change the green field to red..

According to google 0.55% of total global power consumption are used by mining bitcoins & other cryptocurrency. It will be unfair to put the blame on bitcoin mining alone since its less than 1% of what the world consume. Even if bitcoin mining stops it will not have an immediate effect on lessening the global warming.

I believe the consumption of electricity used for mining cryptocurrencies will not be the cause of global warming. Because all factories in the world
consume large amounts of electricity, this is the cause of global warming. It would be unfair to completely blame crypto mining, as you have mentioned, according to data alone, it is not up to 1% of electricity usage for crypto mining. So don't be easily influenced by the news circulating now, sometimes
it doesn't tell the truth.
- I think bitcoin also promotes global warming but it is not the strongest cause, besides bitcoin, a lot of industrial parks consume high power, the exhaust gas purification system is still not good, a lot of deforestation events and problems affecting nature, the government is correcting and improving that, bitcoin's fault is very little in this regard. Even as experts try to sort out the causes that might threaten the earth, bitcoin is still not listed here, the information is really inaccurate and there are many points of dislike for bitcoin while bitcoin is almost safe for everyone

no, because the use of electricity for crypto mining is still quite normal. The people of the world should focus on the whole factory, because they are the ones who cause too much pollution to the earth. after all, currently POW is no longer the main thing, because there are already POS and others.

Exactly,  there are no such mining farms in the world right now as we have many factories scattered all over the world with the constant population they generate on a daily basis both on air and sea, chemical spills and disposal of toxic waste into the atmosphere possess a more dangerous situation to the human health, why nobody is paying attention to that,

some of this factories have been running for years long before btc and btc mining will ever become a thing,  humans has always endure this pollution and the environment threat,  it seem very easy to shift the blame of global warming to btc mining rather than the obvious.

That is the rationale they are trying to push which most of us right-thinking people know it is not true. As you mentioned, there have been many Industries that have posses more hazards to the environment physically and even when it comes to the power consumption issue we are talking about which they have not worried about.

This research report from Galaxy Digital shows some statistics of energy consumption between Banking, Gold, and Bitcoin

I guess this speaks for itself. There are many more industries and Utilities that consume more energy per year than Bitcoin mining per year but nobody talks about those.

So like we already know, all this talk about bitcoins mining energy consumption is going to damage the earth is just some conspiracy to bring Bitcoin down.

Before it comes to cryptocurrencies, there are so many things which are causing harm to the environment. And their affect is much bigger than Bitcoin mining for example. People shouldn't overlook this and criticize only cryptocurrencies.

Yes it's true, it will be used by aliens to destroy the world because bitcoin is their source of fuel for their weapons of mass destruction so yeah it poses a threat to Earth. Kidding aside though, where did you get those stuff, are high or something? It's definitely not the electricity consumption because bitcoin is just a consumer and not a power source so I don't see how it's going to be a threat to Earth.

The power consumption of bitcoin and cryptocurrency miners are negligible which doesn't even comparable to a small country's total consumption, but we are the people talking about global warming and energy consumption while sitting in a air conditioned room, how hilarious isn't it. Cheesy

Nah,this is just propaganda made by the Bitcoin haters.
Energy consumption isn't equal to environmental pollution. The problem is that the coal burning power plants are polluting the environment, not the crypto miners.
Even if all the cryptocurrency miners in the world stopped working forever, the coal burning power plants will keep producing energy,by burning coal and therefore polluting the environment.

If they comply with all the environment-friendly regulations just as Greta Thunberg and Elon are asking I think it wouldn't hurt the industry but will give everyone a chance to be in the crypto space.

Coal is very much effective that is why even today, it's still being used. Some trains are still even working with coal and the countries using these are producing more carbon than China and Iran combined.

Bitcoin mining farm is not orderly hazardous compare to industrial equipments, it's well known that mining farms are not multiple compare to industries across the world, and when we talk about pollution we mention industries they are major sector or concept that poses threat to Earth through the release of (CFC) chlorofluorocarbons to the earth, so in summary op, is that Bitcoin mining farm doesn't really caused hazard to the earth relating to companies that deals with production of chemical substances.

Over 74% bitcoin mining is powered by renewable energy, most of miners are not some old man that really fond of coal contributing really high pollution and causes globlal warming, it's just what media want you to believe and if you see
pollution produced over vehicle is among the one that contributes the most,it generates CO2 so much and also pollute the air, meanwhile bitcoin? it could instead helps us advance in renewable energy as the miner always find a way to increase electricity generated while staying green, that's just how the media trying to built negative opinion on people and it's better to ignore it.
even before bitcoin exists global warming problem already rising, but no one bats an eye to those excessive industrial and factories that keeps running until today, now there's bitcoin and they are trying to label it and make it a spacegoat.
basically, they are fine to be the one who caused global warming but not fine if it's other. though btc by any mean isn't speeding the global warming.

what is the primary greenhouse gas?  I can tell you what it isnt.   its Not CO2.  its Not methane

Its good olde H2O   not only is H20 primary in the amount of heat it holds its also the most plentiful by a rather huge margin.  welcome to having your opinion assigned to you by the media.   You have been TOLD what to think on this.

There is no threat coming from bitcoin mining, LOL, it just began like 10 years ago and now they are saying that it has a dramatic effect on global warning and environment issues.
I know right! the argument regarding bitcoin's excessive usage of energy to the point that effects on the climate are worrying is just an attempt to further criminalize bitcoin. the funny thing is, the bitcoin's energy consumption debate only started after bitcoin reached its all-time high at the end of 2017(or at least that is the oldest article I've seen regarding bitcoin's energy consumption).

I am still thinking it's very safe to mine bitcoin in the year 2050! Look around you, notice what machines are running 24x7 from Sky scrapper tower cooling system to Cloud Storage facility of giant companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, TCS everyone use the electricity. The cost of them is many times more than the Bitcoin.

I am mining the crypto as well and with two average rigs using 1.8 kw of energy while the room air conditioner itself use around 0.9 kw of energy (single). Just imagine what it takes to cool the whole sky scrapper and how many of them are there?

I mean we can just go on giving out the examples. I think that is the threat to the earth not the newly born tech like Bitcoin alone?

Bitcoin is not the culprit here, many industrial nation since the 1900 has really contributed to the worsening and increase of the earth's temperature. This is just an excuse and I doubt that even 0.1% bitcoin is having a negative effect  on climate change.

That's crazy to say that they only look at the mining operation of bitcoin but not with most of the world's production from different companies and manufacturing companies. The waste is thrown in different areas which bring pollution not just by the air but also by the land.
If they're looking to bitcoin as a technology that imposes a threat to the Earth then they shouldn't ignore other emerging technologies.
