why would leader alt die?
Because it doesn't do anything that Bitcoin can't. It's the first shitcoin. Actually not even first. Tenebrix came before it.

I never knew about Tenebrix but the name itself was a big fail from the start.

I believe Litecoin will make a comeback. I remember when it use to be worth somewhere in the twenties for one coin but now its nothing.

Litecoin is coming back today. A 10% rally.

Today is day of recovery as many coins done some recovery and LTC also going on just because of this I believe this coin can survive

The utility and function of the coin has not change. Low price actually reduce risk and encourage investors to buy.

Actually LTC has a giant PoW network. It's the most secure coin behind BTC, making it an appropriate alternative store of value in crypto. LTC will survive the fall, if the rest of the market survives. LTC value is about the least of my concern right now. Tongue

There's a bunch of clearance sale coins out there now worth taking a gamble on. But you're more or less gambling on the fate of the entire crypto market as opposed to individual coins.

How the hell is it going to survive if it doesn't have ANON v4 with encrypted messaging?

lol, currencies are meant to be simple, not rocket science... it's the stuff built around currencies and other aspects that give it's value. Can you imagine mainstreamers trying to use a coin like XMR.

With the new GUI, yes totally: http://imgur.com/a/ERheR

Yeah the stuff around the currency is important, definately but Litecoin isn't even on the Bitcoin 0.9 codebase so there are still a lot of issues regarding tx mallability and tons of bugfixes etc in that are already fixed in Bitcoin.
Its really not much work to port LTC over but no one does it?

Problem is BTC offer same if not more secure network than LTC. Plus BTC has two payment processing companies and a lot of merchants accepting the coin.

id look into something with more development, light is dying because its exactly like bitcoin. youre going to continue to see these plain coins die out over and over again...Its making no strides to be unique or innovative. Try Black, XC, or Cloak. Aerocoin is also doing some great things for a young coin. really strong development. Devs are vocal and on point with all releases. They havent fucked up yet like DRK. Check out their white paper on AeroME...incredible idea for an early coin. its really under the radar.

Maybe what he means by clone is ltc is a fork of btc and is technically nearly identical to it, whereas alts may include the likes of nxt or eth.

imo for bitcoin-like functionality you only need bitcoin, you don't need a slightly different coin. Alts offer something unique and thus have an entirely different value proposition.

You are right sir, this is why I buy GBP because it's a lot more complex then the USD and therefore has a higher value. Although when the Euro implements ANON v3 with it's new algorithm I can see it contending with GBP in price.

The Yen is pretty awful though, such a copy cat currency!!!
Huh? 100 pennies = £1; 100c = $1. How's that more complex?

Actually, you should ask yourself: Who in there right mind would invest in an altcoin thats a 1:1 Bitcoin clone (litecoin)?

Like he's on cue, Darkota shows up just to say something really, really stupid about Litecoin.

http://www.coindesk.com/information/comparing-litecoin-bitcoin/

You posted that article for what?

To prove to you that you are wrong about litecoin being a "clone of bitcoin." You're just wrong. Now kindly Shut Your Dumb Mouth.

Are you ok? I didn't realize that I was speaking, but rather typing.... Huh

First off, when I say clone, you should obviously know that I use the word in the context that said coin doesn't have any noteworthy differences from Bitcoin.

if litecoin dies and never comes back you can close this section up.

Why? There will always be a 2nd place Crypto.

yes but who in the right mind would then invest in alts if the lead alt for so long failed?......just most crappy alt pumpers who knock ltc thinking it will benifit their own alt are too stupid to see  Smiley

Actually, you should ask yourself: Who in there right mind would invest in an altcoin thats a 1:1 Bitcoin clone?

my guess would be ummm perhaps someone behind the scenes in the BTC etf who realises all the BIG hurdles facing BTC in getting listed aren't suffered by LTC Wink

anyway you're a troll that knows shit and only likes to hear the sound of his own bullshit post in his own self moderated forum thread....why not just stick to that?

Your first sentence made no sense.
