The same arguments were put forward against BTC a year or two ago, and are now outdated. I do not pretend to know, but this argument has the appearance of a rivalry between XMR and BTC. (although I am surprised because how could the BTC community see a tiny alt coin as such a threat)

BTC is now looking at multisig technology anyway.

i have done a lot of research on the WW2 Nazi party and WW2 related stuff and there is soooo much that went on back then..
the Nazi war machine was heavily involved in copyright and money making projects that injected their brand of politics seamlessly.

It seems to me the principles on which your life is based are fairly relative things. This privacy is more than already fully guaranteed by the basic tech, not to mention stealth addresses. I honestly cannot picture myself in a situation needing more privacy protection than that... as you said: it was designed for drugs.

Nonetheless, it does not matter. Attacked by third parties or not the potential for misuse is immense: it's basically the best of BTC protocol... with the worse of fiat. Hi, i am new here on forum but i am living a long time on irc, so dont missplace me as an "new created account just to support monero"
well, i was reading alot here on this forum, and agree and disagree with alot of views like everyone, but even before i start to reading on this forum about monero i was "pushed" to monero world like alot of people.. i think the problem here in this forum is that is alot of pushers, and the people how dont like monero trends to hate that..
Well, this is my personal opinion based on my knowage about monero..
Like fluffypony said monero is not based on bitcoin like the 90% of what called altcoins, what for me is awsome... the code needs to improve alot, thats one thing for sure, it is forked from something that was not very well coded, but i had seen the developpers working and i trust them to do that, and even help them where i can.
I see some problems with the coin, need some API to day-to-day use, but bitcoin also needed that few years ago, and now is running like a real good machine.
The main point on this coin is the annon (dont know how to write the all workd now xD) and untracable transactions, bitcoin just by himself cant provide that, need 3th party companies to do that, what will work good with bitcoin on my opinion.. but monero brings that on their own what is realy realy nice...
I see i coin with good and inovation features growing up and i am investing in it for the future, i realy see people using this in the future, and the coin is in realy yong days, i hold >5000 coins and i am pround of them, maybe i get burn maybe not, but its realy one step looking into the future...

for me is like investing in bitcoin +/- in 2010, i dont see monero beeing in front of bitcoin in near days, but have alot of potencial to be the secound, alot of people think it is the secound coin now, i dont think that way yet, but i see the potencial in it

Bitcoin was used early on silkroad to buy drugs and other stuff and i dont see people complaining now... (and probably continue right now.. as i know the leaked nudes had been paied in bitcoins)..
of course monero will be used for that kind of stuff.. its inevitable, but thats not even close of main point for me, the main point is been annon from the network... i dont like when the governement ask bank for my account, and i will not like years from now when governament can  trace and know where did my money gonne

I could respect the concept if it was just for buying dildos or porn or the internet but the picture here is way darker... God only knows what kind of transactions I could be processing.
