I consider merit as the most useful and fair new system implemented here. Why? Because there is no unfair thing which was purposely implemented for the good reason.

My answer then would still be my answer now. A Moderator's job isn't to check all posts and see if there's a merit-worthy one, they appointed "Merit Sources" that would do this job instead of them.

To be honest, It's useful and helpful for everyone. Don't imprison yourself in the idea of "I can't rank up because of the MERIT System" moreover make it as a stepping stone to re-evaluate yourself. We are not perfect, but it doesn't mean that we can't improve. It's a struggle to get a merit it's a fact but take it as a challenge rather than a burden.
It is fair to those who qualified posts and deserve to get merit. But is unfair to wants to rank up right now because their activity is qualified but their are not it's unfair. But we need to follow the new update because it for us also. Merit are made to reduce the shit poster, account buyer and etc. moreover to improve this forum as well.
If users have unlimited number of merit to be send, now this could have termed to be useless. The limited number of smerit makes it a fair system. Else same as that people give likes on Facebook and Instagram here too users could have started giving merits. What we have at present is something a perfect go.

I think with the merit in bitcointalk because it's not that easy to raise its rank, no need to post aja but it must be really useful for other members

Yes, all we do is to follow what has been implemented, law or rule maker created such as this for the good of the forum and the fairness for everyone, I was just hoping if we could generate merit once a month or during every after four ten days, like one or two points for Jr. Member, 😂

for me, merit system is fair because somehow the older users made this forum grown very well, and the new comer should respect for them. .what is your opinionbut there is something missed i think, because i've seen some members, the seniors, i'm not talking about senior rank, but some of them are senior member too, but what i'm talking about isn't just some senior member rank but the others rank too, who act like a boss here and had bad attitudes, bullying some newbies. i really hate their words. can't we do something to punish them? if we can do something to punish them, it'll be fair, i will feels much better with the merits system then.

Stop with the one line shitposts which convey the same message that thousands of people say before you,try adding new things to the discussion. You can spend your time on learning new things about crypto rather than spending on your complaints on how the system is not fair. Give it a shot, you may earn merits.

First of all this is not the proper section to post this. You should move this to meta section. Coming to your system the new update was required for the forum and it will remain like this even if it appears harsh to new members.

.what is your opinionI guess its fair in a way that it inhibits rank promotion for people who just "post" to threads by spamming and not making any sense at all just for the sake of post count and activity. But I think the credibility of receiving merit and giving it is not perfect for its opinionated or affected by each individual responses which is almost random.

I think the merit system is fair but I think it is advantageous to those who are part of a group or community here in Bitcointalk. They could just send each other merits, create their alts and give merits to it to increase the rank.
What's unfair is that when the merit system started, the current activity should be taken into consideration. Those who are close to ranking up should be given more merit than those who recently ranked up and with less activity at the time of the merit system implementation.
