In as much as life is concerned, politics is very important. No matter how corrupt our political system is now, we shouldn't show less concern on politics because the decisions of this our political leaders is gonna affect us one way or the other.

I think there is need for us to be involved in politics no matter how porous our political system is because if we keep allowing this our corrupt political leaders to keep ruling us we are jeopardizing the future of our upcoming generation.

So i believe that if we show interest in politics there will be chances of us having a privilege to make things right and even bring new ideas that will improve our political system.

They would say politics is a game of interest and for that when they finally gets in, their prior obligations is always self-centered.
Corruption begins when there is a segregation to classify a differentiation between the citizens and of course the masses in an overview where some person's are  considered being above the laws blatantly bridging the constitutions and laws of the judiciaries.
Politics that was supposed to be a opportunity to create challengeable impacts  building honorary legacies had become a heritance game of personal interests ignorantly loosing it's point of being a leader and or a representative.

This is the irony in the matter of politics. I think in the bible, it was mentioned that the people rejoice when the righteous is on the throne. So are there no righteous in the throne or is every politicians agent of darkness?

But people have to occupy does polical offices and most times they are those who would squander the public funds because no righteous man would challenge them down on such wrong doing.

We can't do without politics because it is human nature. There most be people to lead and people on high authorities to make sure that the country is in a progressive state. Politics is needed to choose a leader or president. Politics is everywhere,in churches,families,in our place of work.

The problem with politics is that,the wrong people are given power to and that is why they bring out the beast in them,when they are in power. It is called a dirty game because majority of the politicians are desperate for power and they can go to any length to get want they want. There are not God fearing people.

Despite the disadvantage, politics is very necessary, and there is nothing that has a disadvantage without an advantage too. You have mentioned the disadvantage of politics; have you also looked at the advantage? Only to specifically list three advantages.


This and more are good advantages of politics, but we cannot overlook the advantage and condemn politics as something less important in a nation. Also, the possibility of death in politics depends on the level of corruption in the parties, which in most cases one can avoid it by being very careful and application of wisdom.

I bet you,  the world would have not been this organized if there were no governance,  and as you know governance is politics in itself and there is no way you can separate man from politics since man is by nature a political animal,  this make is obviously that we can't do away with politics but we can change the narratives on how politics is played.

There is no doubt,  all the features you mentioned are all attributes of politics,  in countries that lack a democratic systems,  and have high rates of corruption,  insecurity and other bad political factors,  but that doesn't eliminate the many advantages of politics as well.

What an earth are you suggesting to replace it with? What sort of government system would work without politics? Didcatorship or total anarchy? Politics are essential for any sort of governance of area if we want to debate on different ideas/parties. Otherwise it's just dictatorship. If in your country it involves murders, it's not because of politics but because of corruption. Which ironically can only solved with political decisions.

Politics is as necessary as dentistry. It is unlikely that anyone will argue about the importance and necessity of dentistry - although dentistry is often unpleasant, sometimes painful and almost always expensive. The main problem with politics (apart from corrupt incompetent non-professionals) is that it tries to extend its importance to all spheres of human life. It is as absurd as if someone started to claim that everything in the world depends on dentistry.

It's a waste of money if you lose. Should you be fortunate enough to gain some level of power, you'll probably be able to gain wealth off the position. It's how western politics works -- leverage your voting power for special interests groups, or trade on domestic and foreign stock markets while voting on legislation that will impact the price of certain stocks. Altruistic politicians are rare. Politics is a profitable industry if you can do it right.

To this end to the effect that it a also a means of balancing resources in the system or regions. It helps different groups of people with different interest to allign with the interest of the nation for proper cohesiveness. Politics if well utilized is the bedrock of governance because you can show solidarity or support to a needy set of people. You are wrong mate. What you just itemized are the disadvantages of bad politics. Politics is good if it is practiced without bribery, corruption, and violence. It is not bad to choose your leaders freely without intimidation or any form of inducement. It is only in places where politics is expensive and seen as a do-or-die affair that you see most of these evils. It is mostly in Africa and some developing nations that politics is seen as war because of the gains from stealing public funds. Politics is not a waste of time or money because every society needs leaders who will control its affairs. It is not politics that increases enemies or leads to death it is evil politicians that do those things like that.

In fact, politics is essential for a well-functioning social system. Because a little social system runs in such a systematic way that an essential element of politics is present in the system. Again politics can protect the rights of an individual or group and resolve disputes through fair democratic means.

But it is also true that if politics is misused then the backbone economic problem of a country is created along with other problems.
 Just as the mother does not give milk if the child does not cry, similarly it is impossible to maintain the independence of the backbone of the country without politics.

Politics is seen as a business in all countries but the role of malpractice and abuse of power in some countries are higher than others.
If politics is not seen as a business the largest multifunctional investment company like BlackRock won't have invested in politics and also buy almost all the political leaders.
The OP was right and wrong about the disadvantages of politics, to be wasting money and time because it all varies.

That's the disadvantage of being a politician but if you're a citizen, yes politics is still necessary because you choose who's going to lead the country and govern with the policies that you and other citizens are needing, I mean we. Here in my country, political dynasty is everywhere and it has became a family business. Whoever is already in the politics, people will just vote for that the same surname because it's a known one. Even actors goes into politics but this is also happening elsewhere.

You don't have to be fearful about that but it is better to use the office to serve the people and not to increase their pain because you will be their enemy.


It depends on the level of politician you are. If you are a politician who is current government like cabinet member or minister, they earn salary and steal public money too

What kind of death precisely, do you mean natural death or death caused by the mob. Anyway, I see some politicians that are protected and those that are not protected, so it depends on where you fall under.

We would go back to the stone age where civilization barely existed. Even tribes in the middle of nowhere have their own version of politics. They have a leader, advisors, shamans who are supposed to health the sick, etc.

So even though I am aware of the bad things which come with politics, whether we like it or not, it is a necessary evil. It is easy to blame politics on many things, but without it our current way of life would not be possible.

Instead demonizing politics, we should try to make it a more transparent and useful to reach the wellbeing of our societies.

Politicians, to achieve their interests, do not care about lying, or even killing, or perhaps even destroying an entire nation in order to maintain their power.

Actually, you are right. Many countries are using political power to get money by all means, whether in a good way or bad, after winning elections and forgetting people voted them in to office, and that is why most of these people cannot do what they suppose, and you know there is something again when someone leaves the office and spoils many things definitively. It will be hard for the new administration before they get everything back settled even if they wish to, and that is why you can see spoiling the new people's administration by all these negative things you mention.


The increasing number of enemies will be based on how you treat people when you are still in power or office. If you do good, people who love you will remember what you have done for them. Even though leadership has that one thing that no matter what you have done, a few people will still hate you, but that doesn't mean if you do good, your name will remain there as someone who tried for his or her citizens, so don't consider that one as a leader thinking that your name will increase. No matter what you do, people will still say you didn't try.


Let me give an example with gambling: if you win, you get your money back, even more than what you staked. The same thing applies to politics: you are the one who chooses to contest, so if you win, you will definitely get your money, no doubt about it. However, for the time you said, politics is not a waste of time in my opinion because it is just like work; if you do it, you will get money. When you don’t win, you will say you wasted your time in politics, but after you emerge the winner, what remains?

Are you asking if it is good to be a politician? or if there is any need for political system in a country?
For if it is necessary that there are politicians, I say yes because if there are no politicians, there will not be leaders to lead and control things, and if there is no political system in a country, anybody who forces their way into power can do as they really like and stay as long as they want. Politics is good and necessary; it has just only been majorly corrupted by bad individuals who take advantage of the position to do things in their favor or in the favor of a few sets of people to the disadvantage of the majority.
