The Bitcoin developers are putting extra effort to provide us cheaper and faster transaction even tho it is not centralized like ripple, and if ripple be on top he probably a king, sorry but when i hear bitcoin and ripple it feels like masculine to me and ethereum more like a feminine, anyway between bitcoin and ripple i think ripple have to do more job to be able to surpass Bitcoin

Ripple is a lot cheaper than bitcoin......

But it has many times more supplied coins! It is about market cap I think!

Of corse it is. But there are so many newcomers that can't understand crypto basics that coin fundamentals are becoming less and less important.
Sometimes I think that all that it takes to pump bitcoin to 1m usd is starting to use millibitcoin or satoshis, and many people would buy these "cheap" coins again. It's absurd.

Ripple Really takes a leading position in the market, a very large demand for this coin. Perhaps it will be like bitcoin in importance, but not in value.

Most of us here on the forum don't like the idea of ripple taking over bitcoin. But just to be realistic, ripple has increased incredibly these days. In a few days ripple has reached half the market cap of bitcoin. If that goes on, it could overtake bitcoin.

Currently, the Bitcoin blockchain does not comply with the requirements of financial markets and its infrastructure does scale to deal with the daily volumes of transactions taking place on the financial market.

Ripple is a blockchain-based solution for cross-border payments, in other words they offer a service similar to what SWIFT does but in a decentralized way. Their vision can be summed up as becoming the Internet of value.

Ripple is a decentralized transaction network that also contains a digital currency called ripples or XRP. Any type of currency can be transacted over the network, so if someone wants to sell their XRP for USD they can do that within the network without the need of a third party.

Those days ripple is doing really well, it has more than half of bitcoin market cap and has 19% market dominance.
I hate ripple as a cryptocurrency as it's centralized, now seems that ripple is the queen, not ethereum.

That really is making me upset but I want to hear your thoughts.
It's really doing well, I do hate ripple and I don't have it. I don't want to support these bank people who are pumping the coin and I don't want to be part of it. Sooner or later we will see these people who'll start to dump this coin so while it's early for you to see the price pumping it's better to sell it while it's on the peak but if you do believe on it, then just keep on holding. But even there are good news about it, I'm not going aboard and it won't overtake bitcoin.

In terms of market capitalization? Maybe, but probably not too soon and maybe only temporarily. Now Ripple is experiencing a huge rise, but I see a couple of peculiarities. Firstly, the price at Korean exchanges is much higher. Secondly, there was a very similar pump (to almost the same XRP/BTC rate) in May. Surely, Ripple allows fast and cheap transactions, but this may be just an artificial pump, followed by a dump.

But when are they going to cash out? It is already 10x profit in a few weeks.

I personally don't think that ripple will overtake bitcoin, people are just hyping it currently and it is all over social media too. They have good marketing strategy for now because of the big corporations associated with it, but once the whales have cashed out from this coin, those who bought at a higher price will be doomed.

For me this is just a new type of FOMO. If you look at coinmarketcap you will see a lot of coins that are under $1 to get massive gains. It's like people were randomly picking them and pumping them. It's the new trend in crypto, but it wont last long, because most of those coins don't offer anything special. People just think that those coins are cheap and will get to big prices, so they buy them to try to get rich, since they didn't buy bitcoin when it was worth cents as well. Of course those coins have a huge coin supply, and will never get to those prices, but some people don't even know that, because they just buy anything with hopes of getting big profit.

Let's not forget that there are many updates coming to ethereum, and that lightning network transactions were already made on the main net (instant with no fees), so the future is still good for BTC ETH, and other good decentralized coins, and this new mania wont last.

I really can't understand why this premined not mineable centralized pseudo-crypto is pumping so hard.

Nowdays seems that I can't understand crypto anymore  Cry

The whole market is in a bubble for sure, newbies are buying crap for FOMO reasons like there's no tomorrow and they will all get burned.

I hope this money will flow back to bitcoin soon

Banks, and huge media support! Combined by BTC slow network it is not hard to pump XRP!

When ETH was on the #2 spot some are asking whether ETH will overtake Bitcoin. Now that XRP took the #2 spot, this topic shows up. The only basis for the ranking of every cryptocurrency is their market cap. However, the market cap is just a mere multiplication of the current price of that specific cryptocurrency and its supply. The market cap is just a number and will not justify anything. XRP is #2 and ETH is #3, if we make a poll what would you prefer? Perhaps many will choose ETH over XRP. The ranking does not define how good a coin or token is so we should not make any big deal out of this.

Total supply of Ripple is 100 000 000 000 coins. If one XRP will cost even 100$ can you count how huge will the Ripple capitalization in USD? And Bitcoin must cost 100$ too. How you think this may happen at all?
