Evryone can build blockchain or better a dapp ethereum token is smarter for a project.. ripple have the vision for global currency, and have a gap about experience then other new idea for a sectorial project
Ripple is trash - it has an intrinsic value of $0 per coin and is only powered higher by fools who, apparently, want to donate money to the company behind it. I'd rather keep my money but if you really want to donate your net worth to someone, there are better causes than XRP.

I think it is quite possible. It is really a cool project and a very technological coin, as well as a strong team

i understand people who bought ripple when it was sub $0.20
and are now jumping for joy but ripple will not be the currency of the future.
At the moment some banks are using it to transfer between each other
but its a matter of time before they set up their own crypto currency and
may not need ripple then.

I think talk about currency ATM is more appropiate in this case then talk about cryptocurrency
it's great coin but not the future one as it's a centerelized coin which contradict concept of cryptocurrency
To be honest, the society we have been living in has all been centralized, it's no wonder if the centralization part also becomes the dominant on the internet, XRP is backed by the banking system and already started adoption, if you're comparing banking system backing with few whales, eventually bankers will win because they also control fiat some how.
Thus in my opinion XRP/XLM, will be one of the biggest currencies in the future, everything that can be backed with reality (banking systems or anything centralized ) will be always most likely more organized and backed by big entities, making them valuable .
Edit : this is theoretically speaking only, it might be all different in the future, but in my opinion banking system will not just let crypto destroy their grab.
