Since this administration, I think this quarter of his term of office is a bit bad for the economy, since our currency's value is falling a little against the US dollar, I hope the Christmas season could lift this up a little.. Finding a job right now is a little hard since there is a few opening for a certain courses but jobs for Engineers and higher are really good and easy to find and some could even do a side job after their office hours...   Smiley

It's fine no worries. The $1 average is not that high and it doesn't mean it's bad for economy. It doesn't mean that investors are pulling away their investment. They are here for the money. The economic team of the current administration has a better plan and just give time since it's just more than 100 days since the new administration has been established.

Anyways fyi we are talking about PH government. Smiley

Where is my ring of blades...
It seems there are bad news all around with doom and gloom. Trade figures going down, jobs cuts, security situation not going well, and bad loans.

Is the economy situation in your country that dismal? Or this is just some fear mongering?

the global economy has been bad for a while now and in my country there is no difference either. the jobs and the cuts and all that have been bad. and the news you hear from all around the world is not all lies there are so many problems these days going on.
but the good news is that I think the situation  is not close to doom yet !

In my country the situation is not good at all. It's too bad and it's very bad actually. Every citizen can make his life better or not, but the Government will surely don't do that.

In my country the economic are really bad, the unemployment rates are high and the inflations rate is high, the government seems like cant do too much, because the population of the country is too high and there is not enough job opportunities
I do not quite understand about the economic system in a country. but it seems that the unemployment rate will also be an impact, small employment, and many other causes, how to fix this?

For me personally not since I am having a decent paying job, plus the fact that Bitcoin allows my wealth to grow instead of having this money in my savings account. This doesn't mean I don't have savings, 50% of my money sits currently in Bitcoin. But what I have been noticing in the last few years, that more and more people rely on food coupons issued by the government. So yes, in that aspect it's a bad thing.

It appears many posters in this discussion are from Philippines. You guys got a tough leader there. Smiley

Not horrible, but not like it was in the 1990s--not that I remember much of that decade.  The stock market, in case you guys have missed it, is raging right now and has been since 2009 or so.  And the stock market(s) reflect what's going on in the economy, so as I say, not horrible by any means.  Unemployment isn't at 10% in the US anymore, and I think the suicide rate has probably dropped.

I'm just waiting for the market to crash.  Buy low, sell high.  That kind of thing.

You meant BTC market or stock market in general?

The only way to stop any financial problem is taking off the benefics those politicians does have, an amazing car, a huge salarie, and the people under them, because each politician might allow others to earn without do anything, till the people dont figure those out and those people stop stealing us with those bullshits beneficts.

Nah, not too bad at all.  Of course I've had a job for the past few years so I don't know if the labor market is tight.  But it definitely isn't as bad as it was, say, in 2010.  Unemployment was ridiculous.   And right now inflation in the US isn't that high.

Same here, the economy is, slowly, growing. nothing big though, but yet it is growing. While it is very dependant on the other countries for it's growth. Like the US. They got a very big impact on every economy in the world. And i don't think a thing can pas sby and we don't notice it. Same applies for china. If they stop consuming a lot of countries in the worlld will eventually get into financial problems.

Yes, China's recent economic problems slow down economic growth of many countries and last week world wide many exchanges lost their index 3% to 7%. But, these will not impact bitcoin ecosystem in anyways. So, I am little breathing.

Where i am in UK there isn't a slow down in anything much yet really.  We have a drop in the pound and i have found business a little slower for this time of year.  I would not trust any posted figures tbh just use your own judgement.

Would help if people stated where they are from when answering this as it helps relate their perspective on the economy, otherwise its just a random post and you are left wondering where the poster is from.

Canada:

The problem with the economy here is we are very resource based and a lot of what happens is dictated by our southern neighbors(USA) and they are currently in hibernation till after the elections. Both parties seem to be protectionists and that means less free trade, which is going to hurt us a lot.
Soft wood lumber and the Keystone pipeline are two big issues and we are usually loggerheads at the best of times.

The one thing that was boosting the economy was real estate sales and now that the government has cracked down on foreign owners buying and flipping by raising taxes on them. Its been well known for a well that China was unloading dirty money into the real estate to get it abroad.
This will slow down construction of new homes another big aspect of our economy, leaving mostly young men out of work. This will tend to hit 7 months from that actual issue as projects wrap up and nothing new is started.

The economy is in trouble and the government is putting lipstick on the pig to keep people from going out the window and causing mass panic.
But this really could be said about a lot of countries right now and we have really been in this state since 2008.

Actually in most of the developing/under developed countries economic situation like job scarcity, low paying jobs, high expenses are normal and this types of economic problems are increasing year by year. I am also from developing countries so yes we have bad economic situation from many years. Even our online bank accounts and ATM machines are not secured enough so i prefer to store my cash/fiat in bitcoin and i think in the countries where the economic situation are worst bitcoin can be secure way to store wealth.

That's true, developing countries have a lot of problem in the job availability. Because of such situations economy is going in a normal manner without much boom. Possibly everything will be good when the job opportunities gets increased.

i think almost a whole of world have those situations and including also in my country because currently almost on every years college fresh graduates become unemployment because small chance to get decent jobs and the bad impact is criminal acts has increasing day by day

Hmm Same situation here too, there are people already roaming around for jobs but still jobless and the quantity is increasing every year as the more people finish their studies and then start finding jobs but not all get success in that, and many of them start doing bad things because of that which is really a bad impact on the community.
