I do not have an issue with the IQ test. This will remove a lot of active bots from the forum and also it will improve the level of posting. There are many who create unnecessary topics and post irrelevant answers that only increase the spam level. IQ test will stop those activities. I would say it is a great initiative by Theymos on 1st April.
I think this will make the bitcointalk forum more informative and interesting. Not only you will be good in creating quality post, but those trivia questions will make you even smarter every time your answer is correct.

Spamming in the forum has become more rampant and this initiative made by Theymos is a good step to prevent the members from posting unnecessary posts, and posts that are only low valued and unconstructive.
but if the iq test which was carried out on April 1 yesterday, it continued. then what about the fate of the seniors in this forum who for example have been inactive until the time limit for calculating the iq test in which everyone whose iq is less than 120 will be banned. then of course many accounts will be blocked. even though there are a lot of seniors and legends who are not active while they are really busy in the real world. like many famous coin developers who have accounts on this forum and I see they are inactive even in years. Surely they will be affected because their IQ will remain 100 and be below 120.

but I agree that this iq test makes writers more insightful because they like to learn every time they post or edit their posts.
the only problem is the time limit in a week which is less than 120 will be banned. that is it. because every question will be posted is very interesting.

Get on with it... the IQ test april fools prank is already over. please lock this thread already before it will get de railed and turn into spam megathread.

Have you ever posted whiled drinking?
Man, if Theymos ever put a breathalyzer lock on my keyboard.....
I am fairly certain that several people would probably be unable to post if he did this. I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing  Cheesy

Edit2: IQ of 113?  Gimme a break.  Last time my IQ saw that number was when I was attached to an umbilical cord and had not yet seen the sunshine and come to loathe it.

At least the trivia questions are cool, like about history and animals and shit like that.  If they about popular culture and hollywood or some stupidity like that I would be in the negative range by now.
I would have preferred them to be bitcoin and/or crypto related.

It is definitely necessary!  It's the best way to prevent users being scammed.

If it's not necessary why will people be complaining about intellectual quotient, see, you have spoken my mind in the aspect of scam and spamming, so from my intellectual capacity, i comprehend that it will reduce the factor whereby the community will not involve of making irrelevant and shit post to the community.

Are you kidding me?
How does the IQ test prevent users from being scammed? I personally would appreciate it if you espanciate this cus am confused.

Yes, the IQ Test implementation is a welcome development, though I still doubt if this is not an April fool, atleast, it will help to eradicate bot usage on the forum and encourage members to make better posts, it's also a good source of learning something new every day cus when confronted with a question you don't know the answer to, you can easily Google that question and when you are able to find the answer to it, you just leant something new.
So personally, it's really a welcome development and I hope it stays even if it was supposed to be an April fool, i think this April fool is worth keeping.

It is a new thing and surprisingly effective one too. When Today I first time saw it I thought its April Fool event by BTT forum but now I think they really take initiative to prevent some unnecessary posting and to reveal how well developed the users mentality is.
Now we have a curiosity after posting either we were wrong or right after we submit the post and select the IQ answer. Its really fun think for me.

The IQ test is obviously part of an April fools day joke.

The questions are not bitcoin related, so the usefulness of the test is limited. I do like the concept of showing others a general idea as to how knowledgeable someone is when showing their posts.

I am almost one year here in our forum and about this IQ testing all I can say is Maybe yes this is belong to the April fools joke but for me I take it seriously not a joke cause it's help to our forum clean and Antispammer,  Antishitposter. A user who are less than 120 IQ hope that's not true that admin will ban you.  And if it's true I think I want to say good bye  Grin  Grin heheh

Theymos should use this system instead of questions to test our IQs.

Don't give theymos ideas please or else we will have to ask for help from a smart person (called Mr G) before posting here Roll Eyes
BTW Adding a timer after clicking on post will be interesting too, for accuracy and scientific purposes eventually Tongue

And in your opinion, is this IQ test necessary?
Yes, it's necessary. Making 3 posts without testing your IQ will result a permanent ban of your account.

You shouldn't be allowed to post if you answer 5 out of 6 questions wrong. You need 2 right out of a couple.

I OBJECT AND DO NOT ACCEPT!!!

I think this is very discriminatory, we have a lot of members here in the forum and I am sure that we have members with a learning disability that would have a hard time with the IQ tests theymos implemented. It's Ironic that he wanted the forum to be as unrestrictive as possible yet he implemented this test that will only allow smart people to post. this is extremely disappointing.

First of all, where do you belong? Let us hear your views  Huh

My views on this subject are quite clear. In my opinion we should not be participating in (or encouraging others to participate in) any form questioning which displays our intelligence levels within the forum UNLESS all questions are related to just one particular and specific day of the year. I wonder what that date could be.....

~snip~
and I see the members are divided into 4 parts in responding or responding to this new system.
that is :

1. people who accept and don't mind
2. people who object but still accept
3. people who object and do not accept
4. neutral person

where do you belong?
And in your opinion, is this IQ test necessary?
let's discuss and share your opinion

people hoarding merit regardless of your post there by making you not feel like posting...
Oh really! I am just in the know that earning merits is a reason why a user would want to make a post, and then we get to a situation like this: 'no merits earned, then i ain't gonna post', fair enough Grin
but the iq test is way better, you get the answer then you get rewarded instantly
I am pretty sure Theymos is going to get this suggestion soon: "substitute the merit system for the IQ system" Grin
Lol, I'm seeing some post that it's a joke
Absolutely not, it is on mate! Wink Grin.
If Theymos substitute the merit system for the iq system it will be really amazing, I am not bothered if it is on or not, I totally prefer the iq system also, in as much as it will bring quality posts to the forum its highly welcome. In my opinion this will work better than the merit system, I'm just having the feeling that it will

It’s just a joke man, Jesus Christ. Look at the date on your calendar, theymos pulls a trick/joke/trivia like this every April Fools.
Many members are taking it as serious warning from @theymos completely ignoring the April's fool day tradition on the forum and thinking they will be getting banned if they don't pass the 120 IQ levels   Grin Have seen lot of such threads in different boards today but relax guys and take chill pill.

It’s a tradition but to answer the OP, I don’t mind it at all, it’ll be gone in 24 hours or so.
Some members including me thinks it should be implemented as well with only forum and bitcoin related questions to boost the knowledge bags of forum members.

Edit2: IQ of 113?  Gimme a break.  Last time my IQ saw that number was when I was attached to an umbilical cord and had not yet seen the sunshine and come to loathe it.
This is one best way to increase my IQ level to unexpected levels so thanks to the @theymos for providing the bitcointalk members opportunity to show thei high IQ levels here Grin

But you know how other genius might be feeling after looking at whole IQ scene at this time on the forum:

So we can increase it to unexpected levels if we wish to do so today but no cheating is allowed  Grin

Another edit: Oooh, biology this time.  The answer was The Theymos Gland.
