~snip~

jerry0, you thought wrong as well as many others, and and now you are disappointed with the development of events. But it's not all so black, and all that has happened you should use in the future and start thinking differently. There is no chance that price is go up to 100k $ or 1$ million back in 2017, it was only matter of time when the correction will take place. Media is pumping this story so high that it seemed that the price would never stop growing.

You just need to look into their past, and even BTC have only 10 years of history, you would see some things repeat in cycles. Some may not agree, but situation is similar to 2015, price was just around 200-250$, and it was not easy for users to accept it after the price has passed 1000$ mark. Now people are disappointed with 3500$ while they are thinking about 20 000$.

Perhaps there is no progress as regards price, but there is progress in development and adaptation of BTC. Lightning Network is progresses every day more and more, and this is something that can greatly contribute to the adaptation of BTC as a digital currency.

You're looking at a very narrow picture, try to look at things in a broader context then just price.

I think the future of bitcoin still full of hopes and potential, I think people are too obsessed with the hyping price in 2017 so most of them not see a bigger picture, the value of bitcoin will increase if there is more adoption, its more important to make people see the bitcoin from the usage and technologies side rather than from the price, so don't too worry about the price, it will slowly go up

We must not forget that Bitcoin is still an experiment that we do not know how it will end. Those who have invested just to earn, unfortunately, may be disappointed with what has happened to the price over the past year. Those who like this idea, believe that it will succeed and become an officially international currency. It is all about beliving - if you belive invest, if you want only earn - you must be aware of the risks.

Even if you thought Bitcoin reach hundreds of millions, it would be enough for you because you are too greedy. And if you manage to do it well, AML and the government is at your front door already. So, why not take what is given to you besides Bitcoin price is still high enough, Bitcoin is not a quick rich crypto you have to do your hard work first.

don't tell anyone honest what you think in here,

because it will offend some people.

just tell them what the want to hear.

yes bitcoin will be the world global dominating currency

it will successfully centre the worlds economy on itself

all global deserts will be pflastered with bitcoin mining facilities.

the investment punk that mine a lot of bitcoin will be the billionaires of tomorrow.

Maybe in Bitcoin Discussion, but around these parts, perma-bears and skeptics are welcome. I really miss some of the old perma-bears.....proudhon, kwukduck, Matthecat, other people like that. They're sorely missed.

I've been through a prolonged Bitcoin bear market once before. The OP is like a textbook case for the despair phase. Any 2017 buyers who managed to hold on this long should X out the chart and walk away for 6 more months. It'll do em good.

You need to realise that Bitcoin was trading at $200, not too long ago. And before that it was trading in the double digits.

It seems like a bear market and such to the people who paid 5 digits for a single bitcoin but it has been pretty succesful for most.

I think the people who complain the most are the ones who were in it for the money and not the technology. The ones who just want to get rich quick never took the time to understand the true meaning of bitcoin and why it exists and why its important.

the fact that you start a topic with this kind of title proves that you have no understanding of what bitcoin is. all you have always cared about up to this point has been profit and now that it is no longer coming to you, it makes you feel confused.

my suggestion is that you take this time that price is not moving and spend it on educating yourself more about what bitcoin is. try to learn what this digital currency that you own and have been buying/selling for a while now is doing, what it offers, what do the features such as decentralized and censorship resistance mean,... then you will get the answer to your question.

There is a great future for bitcoin and what is happening now has happened before and that is the conference we have on this market.  Cryptocurrencies market is currently down but that do not mean it is not going to recover.  We only need to keep faith with the market in other to be able to take an advantage of buying bitcoin and others cryptocurrencies when there are cheap and sell when there are high.  If any one told you that  bitcoin has no future any longer he or she is deceiving and trying to keep you out of the future.

this is refreshing to see. maybe this year really will be like 2015. Smiley

The price is around $3500 now.  Price has only went down.  If it does go up, it goes back down later on.  Does anyone here think there is no future for btc anymore?  When the price went to 5k then 10k then 15k and then close to 20k, i thought... wow i think by end of 2018 it would be 50k at least.  And then it dropped all the way down and now its even worst.  I had thought mcafee prediction of 1 million in few year was foolish.  But i thought by then, 100k would seem very reasonable.  Now... it doesn't even look like it will hit 10k even for a very long time.Does anyone here there is no future for btc anymore?  Anyone that has bought btc and held it for the last 1.5 year already is down a lot of money unless you are trading and even then most traders are losing.

you're definitely not the only person feeling this way. this is how it feels deep into a bear market. 14 months after the 2013 bubble top, i was still actively trading bitcoin but i had basically become a permabear. i completely lost any sense of long term fundamentals and just became super bear biased because of how soul crushing the multi-year bear was.

this is just how markets go. they push investors to maximum pain.

The most important thing about what we will do on every job that is indeed necessary action is a very high sense of optimism. Likewise, if we follow Crypto, we must also instill a sense of optimism. nowadays Bitcoin is in a very difficult and not good time but not too bad, it can still be said to be quite stable because the price drops and rises are still not too far away. there has been a lot of growing speculation that 2019 is the year when it is time for Bitcoin to come back again like in 2017, but at the beginning of this year there has not been a movement to signify a resurrection. But we must remember that in crypto all changes can happen suddenly (because like trading in general), and I believe in that. That Bitcoin will again be victorious just like 2017 will even exceed.
I don't think that bitcoin will sink.
Bitcoin will always make the future awaited by many people.

I never thought that bitcoin has no more future. You don't have to expect that much and just go with the waves so if your expectation isn't met, you will not feel disappointed. That's the logic that you should apply to yourself.

Those prices are high but who knows if we're going there someday right? I also want to see those high prices because we all want to live decently without having financial problems. Bitcoin isn't a quick rich scheme that you are thinking, it's okay to be disappointed but learn from those wrong expectations.

I would refer you to check out the historical price charts of bitcoin. Look at 2015, exact same situation we are in now. Bitcoin was at $200 then, its at $3600 now.

Yes Bitcoin has a future. Lots of positive things are happening in Bitcoin right now. Pricewise its probably bottomed out, or close to it. Wait a year and you won't be asking anymore if Bitcoin has a future, as it will be readily obvious to everyone.

How many people believed Bitcoin would carry on into multiple tens of thousands in late 2017? More than a few. They were wrong.

How many people believe Bitcoin might never reach impressive heights again in early 2019? More than a few. They'll be wrong.

Im not against with your thoughts but you need to understand that there is no overnight quick rich scheme in crypto.

Yes some lose, even I, but to the point to think that BTCtc no future anymore... I see it's not making sense.

People should understand how volatile bitcoin is. There are lots of years to come so rather to think that btc price must be $10,000 or more tomorrow, just do your best to acquired more today while you can.

You're asking about a future for BTC and yet all you talk about in your post is price.
Even if that's all you care about, how do you expect the price to go up without some actual utility for the asset?
Maybe you're looking in the wrong direction.

finally a technician answer, that doesn't look like profit maximalization,

do you truly care just about the tech of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies or do you care how expensive they can be sold?

The OP's tone sounds like depression phase to me. Anyway, Bitcoin development is still ongoing and it seems lightning will aid in the adoption of Bitcoin as a global currency.

First of all you got to have Patience. You probably bought bitcoin last
year or late in 2017 and are expecting the price to be at least above
$20,000, we are dealing with a decentralised currency which is wide
open for manipulation.

Just because John McAfee said a certain thing will happen it is not
a guarantee because guess what......he doesnt have a crystal ball
and cannot predict the future.
