Could you see a future wherein the entire world shares one global currency, be it fiat or crypto? If I think it in a scifi kind of way, it would most probably be some digital currency that could all just use. It doesn't even have to be in this century. Maybe the next?

Right now, US Dollar recognize as global fiat currency. Most commodities and world trade using US Dollar. Its already happen and i dont think crypto can replace US Dollar in near future because most central banks prefer using their own currency
Thats true and Im pretty sure the government will never want to use unregulated thing that they cant control, like cryptocurrency except if they create their own coin.

I think there is a possibility there will be one global currency, because the world is always making changes. Cryptocurrency is likely to be the answer as a global currency that will be used in the future.

Global currency is not an easy way to setup because many governments will not accept for this proposal as they don't anything positive about the market. So it will take a lot of time because all governments should come closer in order to find a solution and it is impossible to set up on global currency for all.
We can have a global currency no doubt but for that we need the mutual consent of the governments and countries around the world. We have USD but USD is owned by America. To have a decentralized global currency, we can look to Bitcoin as one but again there are countries around the world not in favor of this coin.

So until and unless it is not recognized around the world as a technology and currency, it cannot become a global currency despite having what it takes to become one.

I don't think so especially if it would be a digital currency. Nowadays, we are into technology but still there are people who doesn't know how to use gadgets, no read and no write. Also, not all countries wanted btc, that's why it is banned in some country. I'm fine with, I can turn my crypto into local currency, for me that's enough. Having one global currency is likely impossible.

Yeah right, different countries have different fiat currencies and I also not expecting that cryptocurrencies will be one of them and most specially I am not hoping to have one digital currency.

In my opinion, there is a huge possibility that someday, there will come a time where people will come to a conclusion that we should create a currency that is universal and we can use wherever we want, whenever we want. Just like the english language which is being used as our international language, this decision brought a good effect to every one and I believe that having one currency will bring the same effect to us.

Yes i have positive mentality about crypto will be one global currency in near future. At present time worlds largest economic country are thinking about cryptocurrency and some also accept it. They also thinking that day by day people are being too much busy and they have not enough time that handle hard money. So if any body choose any alternative at present time cryptocurrency may be the best choice.

There is no probability that there would be a global currency. Every country has their own unique pride and has individual gold deposit in the world bank. The wealth of a country depends on how strong their economy is and that's the reason why those rich nation will not allow to have a global currency. It would be unfair for them to have the same currency to those poor country and trading would not be advantageous for those rich nation is global currency exist.

Crypto doesn't have any chance to become global currency in this century since the people's ties with traditional fiat money are too close. All banking systems with millions of their transactions are bound to fiats, these systems have become convenient and familiar to so many customers that I wonder what could make them shift to crypto? Anyway, if this happens it will take many decades - I don't think I will witness the victory march of cryptocurrencies during my lifetime.

Bitcoin can be the main cryptocurrency, but not a single one. Many various altcoins will always exist, and people, who like them, will use them. Their number will be sufficiently reduced.

Of course it is possible if future bitcoins are adjusted to overcome blemishes and are accepted by governments globally.

But why are people so bothered about this? Even if it’s going to happen it’s not going to be through Bitcoin or any form of blockchain. It will still be through something physical like the fiat we are using today. And the government will be the ones to decide that and it will also be controlled by banks, so you all should just stop deciding yourselves. We know Blockchain is good but not a lot of people are ready for it.

This could be difficult to control when we have different culture and economy every country as the standard is not the same. Policies every country had different and this can bring chaos and misunderstanding in every people. Maybe this could be possible if we have only one leader to decide for the whole world.
of course it will cause chaos, I can't imagine if the world only has 1 currency, how to distribute to many countries, how the economy is described in a country (because there is no local currency), and who will control the circulation of this currency (if only one currency)..
A chaos that will not even be able to resolve. Every country worldwide, unless there is a country that is not independent anyway, sure do have a say for their own country, and for something like a global currency to even be a thing, there must have been a country that would want to impose it on other countries and I wonder how that is going to work out.

Just as we have had in the past with USD being a globally accepted currency and every other country still having their own local currency, I would say it is the only thing we are going to get to see which would be an alternative that is accepted worldwide and nothing else.
Only one condition required for that. When all countries accept and legalize bitcoin as their regular currency, it will become global currency for the whole world. There is no doubt that we will enjoy one digital currency in the future. The world is turning towards digital currency and now it is the time to move on digital currency. Crypto is digital currency and bitcoin will be the mainstream in the future.
We do not need for all countries to accept bitcoin as their official currency, you are confusing the subject what we need is the acceptance of people, we need them to use bitcoin, if they do, whether we get the approval of the government or not will be irrelevant since there are many things that the governments disapprove and that people do anyway because it is in their best interests to do it.

none, even fiat cannot be a global currency because each country certainly does not want to have the same currency as all countries in the world because it can affect the country's economic performance, especially in the import and export sector. because in that sector the country can take profits from their currencies which can cause inflation or deflation in their currencies.

I think it's quite possible. But the decision to adopt such a currency depends on banks and government agencies. And they will not do it if it is not profitable for them. Not all countries (especially corrupt ones) will see this as a good prospect for themselves.
I think it's might possible but need a lot things to settle before it happen, but for me I like the idea of having a one global currency because it will easy to us to used, but the only problem is all government will not accept and allow to happen. But in the end once the property of government get involved surely is a long time decision and possible cause not good in both side, so its better to not crossed there way.

I'm going to tell you honestly and realistically that it won't. China  is the perfect example of the huge obstacle that it will face if we want to pursue that in the future. China hates following others because they want others to follow them so they want the world to use their own or else they won't agree.

I am thinking that bitcoin has the one's who can get that opportunity to be a global currency and I think it would be more useful to any people who will get involved to it. And I think most of the country would accept bitcoin as a second currency in their country.

There is a possibility that Bitcoin will become a global currency. But a lot of work should be done in this direction. The governments would probably do everything to prevent this scenario, as they're interested in money they can control. It seems more realistic that Bitcoin will be accepted as an alternative to a global currency.

yes of course that can happen but to be able to become a global currency it takes a very long time and certainly it requires clear rules for the use of cryptocurrency, while fiat like the USD I see is acceptable and is often used for several countries.
I believe this is more than global currency right now. People are from different backgrounds and countries are entering into this world of trading and investing in bitcoin. We haven’t seen a currency that comes out and then get spread over how world within only few years. Like dollar, it has taken out some hundred years to get over the world economics. But see the bitcoin, it just become amazing.

I think the world will eventually have a world government and a world currency.  I think this is very far in the future though.  Bitcoin has already proven that a global currency can work quite well.  It is a lot more convenient when you don't have to worry about exchanging your money for a different currency every time you travel.
In this world of globalization-when everything around the world is being linked through internet- nothing is impossible and this dream of man to have one global currency can also become true if mutual consent is being set. Bitcoin is one great pick for this purpose but the problem is that not all the countries around the world accept it and we are helpless to call it a global currency. This can possible happen in future if it is recognized around the world and I one great medium of exchange.
