yeah lol did you read the pizza story guy? that is everyone dream, to have 10k bitcoin and hold them until now, but i think already everyone dumped at the 2013 ATH, it's very hard and very tempting to sell at those price when you have so many bitcoins, and it's easy now to say that if i would have hold i would have been rich, try to say this when the value is shit lol
The story of pizza guy is one of the saddest stort that I have read because he used his 10k bitcoin for some pizza. I think if he hold until now I guess he could become millionaire. We all know that having a lot of bitcoin is a chance to become rich in the near future.

Yes, that kind of things happen. I am also very deceived that I did not buy more bitcoins when the price was very low. However I think a 2x-3x is still possible in the next three years, so what I recommend you is to buy now, or when price will drop a bit if you think that will happen and then wait and especially never sell it even if the price is sliced in two overnight.

'offered' them?

I suspect most of us were in a position to buy or mine at some point. With a bit of effort anyone around could have mined 100's. I thought it was just a fad so never got involved.

There you go.

Mining for small timers was always more expensive than buying the coins from the market. I still remember the case in 2012 and early 2013, when the coins were available for less than $10 from the exchanges. At the same time, the cost of mining rigs (BFL, Bitmain.etc) was insanely expensive, and they had a positive ROI only after 5-6 years.

#Sounds like you didn't buy them, whoops!!
Well yeah,  you could've been a millionaire,  easily and I've no doubt that it was the one and
only bitcoin you were offered.   It sure as hell wasn't bitcoin cash or some other sound like
bitcoin, because I'm pretty sure bitcoins were in their infancy back then.  Shoulda woulda coulda.Yes, you could have! anyways you're not the only who has missed an opportunity to be millionaire by bitcoins in early days. you could still be millionaire in future, buy and hold at least 1 bitcoin might be worth 1 million someday.

Lol that would be nice but 1 million ? 21 trillion market cap would be a little too much even to imagine.

Yes, bitcoin is real but becoming a millionaire is not something that can easily happen Smiley
Yes, if you joined bitcoin back in 2009 and bought 100 btc for maybe $10, now you could be millionaire!
But, it's almost impossible to predict such things.
It's the same with Microsoft, Google, Facebook tc.
Their stocks was very cheap in the beginning but now these stocks are very valuable.
My advice is to research for a new, unknown businesses and try your luck Smiley

Please forgive my cynicism.
I was offered bitcoins in I think 2010 when they were 50p each.
I was tempted to buy £200 worth but had been just lost £200 to a ponzi money scheme so decided against it!

I have seem recent reports saying they are now worth £2,500

Are these the same Bitcoins?
So would I be able to actually sell for cash or money in the bank?

Sorry to ask, but I see lots of people saying they are millionaires but don't think I have seen anyone with the actual money banked.

I mean, my 400 bitcoins would now be worth £1,000,000 and I could actually sell them for £1Million less commissions?

You gotta see I'm sceptical.
Please tell me I haven't made the biggest mistake of my life?

offensively of course (but there is still much room for becoming rich, work on it, develop and maybe you will have another chance to become a millionaire

Honestly that pizza guy is my inspiration in buying and trying to invest in bitcoin despite its price hike compared to from where it started. I still believe bitcoins price will go up so high compared to now and that my investment will bear its fruit maybe sometime in the future and I'm willing to hold until then I just hope that I will not faced challenges that may make me sell my coins prematurely nor a reason for me to panic sells.

Of course you can. There are two ways:
1) Buy or mine bitcoins in hope that it will go up in price (if it will be $20k you'll need 50 BTC)
2) Invest in ICO (nice ideas turn into big money eventually)

That story is not clear but i understand that you ignore to buy bitcoin when the price is low then you are asking if the price of bitcoin is really high right now yes your 400 bitcoin is now a ton of money and yes you do made your biggest mistake of your life and that seller too he made the his bad decision if he actually sold that bitcoin.

This is the reason for everyone to monitor the market everyday and this is actually how trading works, If you have a huge amount of capital then your profit will be also high and in the near future the value of bitcoins will still increase that is why need to hold more longer till it reach that time.

The old bitcoin is the same as the current bitcoin, and you can still buy and sell. If you still have your bitcoin now, then you are lucky, you are rich, and if you do not, then you should not be sad, Because it is not too late to invest Bitcoin, of course, you have to be clear about the risks of investing, and I wish you good luck. Well it is sad the you missed that opportunity, It also happened to me because I came to know about bitcoin when the price was $240/BTC and I could not invest my money after I loose my money in Liberty Reserve some years back. Which made me to makeup my mind never to put my money online things again.

If you bought bitcoin last 2010 then yes your now a millionaire if you haven't bought wait for 2018 because bitcoin will largely fall next year and then jump high by 2019.

I agree to you that if he bought bitcoin on the year 2010 the he's a millionaire. But for me if you work hard everyday just to earn bitcoins you can be a millionaire as well but in a long time hardworking because the price of bitcoin this year is very expensive and very high that you can buy things what you need in your everyday life.

Yeah this was indeed one of the chances you would get to become a millionaire but you threw it out of the window because you were not willing to spend 200 Pounds am sure you even spend more than that during the weekends having fun wit your friends. Sucks to be you though.

came in this thread expecting OP became a millionaire. Grin

Cheesy I think everyone would be a millionaire by now. I know many people who regret not getting in when price was extremely low but pizza guy story is probably one of the saddest.
You could become rich if you use bitcoin and having bitcoin is one of the best way to become rich. You should work hard and put some effort if you want to become millionaire with bitcoin. The pizza guy story is a very sad story and I think he regret that he use his bitcoin to buy pizza.
