If anyone from this forum would knew the answer to this question he/she should be already a millionaire, don't you think so?  Smiley

It's very annoying to see your portfolio decreasing with ~50% or more within the last weeks, but older people in crypto market passed through this situation multiple times in the last 2-3 years. Nothing goes up or down forever, neither crypto market does. Next month we can have a new 20-30% correction, or an over 50% increase. That's crypto market and you don't have to forget 2 key points here:
 - crypto market is very (but very) volatile. (that can be bad when correction, but also exciting when huge profit)
 - don't invest money you cannot afford to lose.

My personal feeling is that the end of crypto is not here, the market is still quite new and it needs to face important challenges during its way to maturity.

My portfolio has dipped 90% since the 12th January and the biggest mistake I made this year was not selling before the 13th January. I would have by now not been scraping for pennies and I would have semi-retired and been able to help my Son get married. Now the way the market has gone really flat for months and is just getting worse and worse, I don't really see it happening right now, not for a long time, if at all, to get to previous All time highs. I think the honeymoon period is over. Those who were lucky enough to cash out already did so.

bad news keep spreading like wide fire because big players wants the price down so that they come on board . this is not the first time crytocurrency is going down. if you check history there was a rise and a fall of crytocurrency evry year . the best thing you can do is to invest more. crytocurrency will definite replace fiat currency is just matter of time. you cant fight technology

There has been consistent bad news since bitcoin became known around the world, hasn't really damaged it's reputation, if anything it's strengthened it.

People are suspicious of banks and governments more than ever, which only opens the door wider for alternate places to store wealth.

It seems as if some investors have fled the market. Now, only the most interested participants who have a greater conviction in the cryptocurrencies remain.

8 thousand dollars for 1 bitcoin, it's quite a lot of money.
When everyone realizes that coins should not depend on news, they can no longer be manipulated as they are now!

And there will not be such protracted falls.
I agree that it is not that bad, but I really look forward to it recovering! I want to see at least $15k again in a few months! Because what's happening now is kind of free of any motivation... Is this fall happening due to stupid google ads? I recall facebook doing a similar thing, but when btc went up to $11k, I started to see ads once again! And why should one even care much about some ads? This is not the kind of news that should have such strong impact on the market imo. I understand that when something is hacked, or there are bugs or anything of that sort, then it's natural for people to panic. But google ads? Come on, we're better than that.
Actually, we are not better than that and probably can never be Smiley Thats the whole premise of the speculative crypto environment: Prices go up on good news and goes down on bad news.. even if the news makes NO ultimate difference to the maketplace and has no real negative effect on the project. The stock market, and by extension, the crypto market, has always been like that from day one. Its hardly ever rational. Though the rumours or news of Google potentially baning bitcoin or alt adds would actually affect the whole crypto industry big time... so i expected even more reaction to that!

What bad news exactly do you mean and what is going down? When you put it this ways it sounds so cataclismic. But what I see it's just normal volatility process related to Bitcoin and the news that are coming like those form Germany are not bad.
So I guess it's the question of perspective. And experience I would say. And the statement that it's the end of cryptocurrencies is totaly out of common sense.

While the downside looks more likely in the short term, but in the broader scheme of things, Bitcoin price will stabilize. Think long term investment.

Don't be so foolish man.The Up's and down's are normal in every market situation whether it is stock and share market, real estate or mutual funds everything depends on the market trend .A good investor normal waits for the market to fall so that they can make more number of investments at the lowest rate i am someone who try to make as much as investments i can when the market price is down and the deflation in the market is not going to be there for longer period of time even though the current decline has happened due to the action taken by google to put a complete ban on btc ads has resulted in the current decline does not mean that they decline is going to stay for longer period of time.

I agree there have been a lot of bad news lately whether it's the various countries governments cracking down on crypto currencies or facebook and now Google planning to ban crypto ads but still I don't think it's the end of crypto currencies.

Absolutely no. This is 2014 all over again. If you can't bear these dips, maybe it's better to find more stable, old school investments like stocks or even bonds Tongue

If you only see the price, it may seem bad or a neverending loss since the beginning of the year. But if you look at other criteria, there are a lot of things to be cheered and definitely showing that Bitcoin is at its peak moment. The average fee has once again reached as low as < 10sats/B. Just a few months ago, we were at 200+ sats/B. How good is that? Now you can send thousands of dollars with only cents worth of fee.

I do not think that the end of the crypt is because still the development of buying and legalization takes place in different countries and although the currency falls, it does not mean that it will not.

As we go back several years ago like 4 years backward, we could see that the value of the bitcoin was downward trend for so many months and it lasted in a year. During the 1st month of 2014 the bitcoin got 1800 USD ATH, and the price got fucked up by mtgox issue  where the price went down to 1000 usd then drop to 300 usd in a  years time. So the price wave history will repeat itself but it doesn't mean it will end.

Yes it's totally the end of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general.
Bitcoin has died 269 times since it was first created, surely that must mean that the end of cryptocurrency is near.

Many bad news will never be Bitcoin's coffin and market decline will never be Bitcoin's tomb. The spread of bad news are just attempt of market manipulation and the decline is just a natural phenomenon. Cryptocurrencies are here to stay. Just these simple reasons will not constitutes to an end of cryptocurrency.

This is really a difficult moment for this platform and it's true that a lot of bad news has come to this system in recent times. but don't lose your hope. if you want to succeed then you have to pass a lot of barrier towards your vision.
Yesterday, I read an article regarding the advertisement issue. Google created a new policy that they will not allow any ICO related advertisement in their platform starting June 2018. So that it's really a shocking news for a newcomer to this platform. but things will be changed in the coming future.

So far, I have not heard any bad news about cryptocurrencies. On the contrary, I have heard many rumors. The bad news is that we must learn to verify.
