In my opinion is hard to make consistent profit from crypto trading, high volatility and price manipulation make hard to predict price of crypto. In this current situation of market, crypto trading can be profitable only for trader who full times to analysis the market and make fast decision to sell when any bad news.
This might be an old thread but it looks like the topic is timely nowadays. Yes, bictoins and altcoins are both still profitable especially if you know how to margin trade. Pumps and dumps are stressful only if you don't know what to do during those times... in reality, the pumps and dumps are like waves, you should enjoy it on a surfboard.
I was a trader awhile back, I want to say about a year ago now and wanted to know what the current state of the market is for the traders that are currently trading to this day? I know a lot of the current exchanges that I used for trading, such as Poloniex, are still around but aren't really being used much as before.
I wasn't able to profit much but would like to hear how people are doing these days. Thanks a ton!
No doubt that the current situation of market is disappointing but we should not lose hope for trade, Prices go up & down with a blink of an eye, Its time to hold our assets or if you really want to trade then do it for long term. As long as bitcoin and altcoin still have a large number of users both traders and investors. At the time of its growth cryptocurrency will continue to swing and cause two different conditions namely up and down. Actually, these two conditions will be very profitable. If we are smart enough the condition of both will provide its own advantages.

Specially now, I have seen a lot of money from my friend and I think it is because of the sudden increase of the altcoins that gave him that kind of money.

I told him he was a genius but yet he could have waited for more. Told him to not look at the exchange after some time or he might just regret it when he sees the prices of the alts are still going up.

I am sure that you are right. BTC will be gaining again, and I am even expecting a new wave of hype around it. Hope, it will grow much. The other cryptocurrencies can also go to the Moon in autumn and winter.
It is still profitable but there are so many coins around these days that are not worth trading. Check the trading volume on the exchanges to be sure there is a market. Arbitrage between exchanges is also possible,sometimes 10%, but charges can eat into profits.
Good advice. Trading coin is a profitable business. But that must be wise, tricky and cool. Enough trading knowledge, skill and experience can assist in making smart profit. 
yes of course bitcoin and altcoin are very profitable when you can understand how to play the right trading and good, you should be able to determine the right time to buy and sell coin until you can get a lot of profit.
Bitcoin is for sure. But I'm not sure if it is a new altcoin, there are some of them are quite profitable but there is also a scam or shitcoin.
In fact trading bitcoin and altcoin is still very profitable at least until 2018. And until now already many exchange sites are used. In my opinion at this time binance is the best.

I'm new in trading and I'm getting a profit, even though my profit is small due to my small capital, so I think trading cryptocurrency is still profitable, the price of fluctuating cryptocurrency so you can get a profit or not it depends on your strategy.
Absolutely,does not matter whther we talk about altocoins or bitcoins, both cryptocurrencies are economically efficient, and you just need to follow up the market position to make sure you do the right thing.

A good trader always says bitcoin and other altcoins profitable because on what they observed and they play the coins in the market. Bitcoin and some altcoins are the future so no matter what happens and no matter what price drops and pumps they are still profitable. And if you have still doubt then try them first and you will surely realize that these coins can give you a lot of money if you handle them carefully. So right now if you have funds go and try play the market by having those coins in your wallet and let them there for couple of months.
Yes, there are many ways to earn on bitcoin and other cryptos. I am not expert in this field yet but want to become. Trading different alts as well as bitcoin can make you wealthy if you use an analytical mind
Many Altcoin can be insanely profitable provided you hold them for considerable time that enable such Altcoin to grow into price maturity. Bitcoin is also good for shorting and holding.
