I don't believe in Zcash. Even though i saw that coin in a exchanger site and has a very high price it doesn't change my mind. For me, Zcash is just another type of hype where newbie traders or investors is one of their target because in my opinion, a real altcoin or crypto-currency always start from the bottom and it builds trust during years and not only a week or even days. Zcash is just a hype and it will be turn to scam later, Stay away from that coin.

Thanks for your reply. At first, when I saw the high price of ZCash, I thought that it was going to surpass Bitcoin in marketcap ranking, but as days passed since launch, prices started to decline, leaving Bitcoin as the champion in price and marketcap. It just turned out it was just overhyped, but I'm glad that markets are starting to reflect the true value of ZEC nowadays.

Speaking about the launch of Zcash, I was surprised to see that it only offered a command line wallet that could only be executed on Linux, which makes it difficult for newcomers to get into the cryptocurrency. Most cryptocoins have GUI wallet, at launch so why has it been something missed out on ZEC? In my own opinion, I think that the phase of the command line wallet should've been during the beta/testnet. That way, when launching ZCash, they would've had a user friendly wallet to help attract non-tech savvy users into it.

Anyways, it is nice to see the real facts about an specific altcoin before considering to invest into it. Just my opinion.  Grin

I do not understand their thinking of the value of ZCash.
Let me explain,
-Team X hypes about the new product being launched with capabilities of it taking you to Mars.
-Team X plans to launch only 100 copies of this self operational Mars touring machine.
-Without seeing or using the machine, all the rich brats pre-order the machine as they had ample of cash to invest and they look at it as an opportunity to re-sell their limited edition product to other rich brats.
-Reality,machine was never launched. On Further investigations machine didn't actually take anyone to Mars,it just gave them a virtual tour.500 more machines were produced. The prices fell, other 500 rich brats invested in the limited edition virtual mars tour machine. The vicious cycle continues!

It is less expensive now. I used to sell at the price of 3 bitcoin each ZCash, but the price is only 0.089 now.

that still counts as insanely expensive in my book. it's gonna take quite a while before it's anywhere near settling and then people can get a better idea of where they stand. i hope the crazyheads who paid over 1, or several hundred, btc flipped it quick enough to make some money but someone somewhere along the line threw their money away forever.

Some people think it is not expensive and started buying. I do not understand their thinking of the value of ZCash.

Nope for me zcash is just a scam coin this is really expensive when you are going into market and see the price of zcash if you are going to buy it and wait again for the price increase then you're like throwing your money in garbage hahaha without any emotion lmao don't invest on this coin.

Since Zcash launch, prices have been around the $1000+ mark, however after a few days the price has gone down, and I think that it will continue to do so for the following days until it reaches the total supply of 21 million coins.

In my own opinion, Zcash has been overvalued, (considering that there have been privacy oriented altcoins before like Monero) and the fact that Zcash does not enforce anonymity by default (unlike Monero), it makes me wonder whenever Zcash would be a good investment or not.

If there is one thing that I don't like about Zcash, is the fact that it is behind a company, as well as having a sort of premine called Founder's reward, which seems kind of fishy to me.

Please let me know what do you think about this.  Smiley
Their biggest drawback is the founder's rewards, and the anonymity, this coin is over hype, zcoin is a much better version I prefer the later than the former..

Soon this coin will lose hype and we will see it's real value.

Indeed, Zcash for is no difference in the ponzi scheme like what other coins rises before, once they collect big amount money they run away immediately and the investors will do nothing about it. There just hyping the people only,

Never invest in zcash, it is very shady, you know.  Angry  The founder team gets free 20% reward which I assume it is unfair, I would rather they have an ico to investors, not such a shady behaviour, to reserve every 20% share of mined coins, it is same as premine coins. And polo pumped it to 3300 btc at launch, definitely an insider trading

Definitely agree with you, especially the part about founder's reward. It's very similar to a premine with the only difference of the coins being collected among different miners, to build up those "premined" coins so that founders of the coin can get a quick buck once the price increases. That is why prefer to choose a fork from Zcash instead like Komodo, or Zclassic in which employ a fair mining system with absolutely no founder's reward. By eliminating that scheme, it could make the coin rise in price over the long term. Just my opinion.  Grin

By the way, another coin I'm looking to invest into is Zcoin. This last one will be on the top list of my altcoin investments.

Not right now but in the future I believe it might. Price discovery is impossible right now.

I saw this on http://zcash.flypool.org/

Because of another bug in Zcash version 1.0.2 we are still unable to send transactions to z addresses! Therefore DO NOT use z addresses to mine on the pool for now.

It is not even worth to consider to invest in Zcash. The market cap is around 58k Zcash at the moment and the supply will keep growing till 21 million.
The price will continue sliding down as the coin supply keeps increasing. Buying Zcash now is like holding a hot potato where its value will keep dropping. My advice is to wait for Zcash coin supply to be more than 1 million before considering to buy.

The price is still over inflated at the moment. When the price stays around $20 for some time, it could be good to buy.

That is right. It is better to wait for about 6 months and see if the ZCash is accepted by any merchants.
The primary pump can happen anytime. This no sense for me to hear zcash will get accept by the merchant.
Starting from 2009 bitcoin had got announced for public, six years was passing and what about the mass adoption of bitcoin by the merchant?
I could have said if that was taking more than bitcoin. It is fair to get compare.

Probably good advice...myself I am 'mining' Zcash with 2 5 card GPU rigs.....all them flashing LED's and whirly noises of the fans on the GPU's.....

not likely my 'wisest' move don't ya know. But anyway figure it will dump...difficulty will go down...maybe hoard some...see where it goes....

(mainly to keep my shiny led's and whirly soothing noises going ..don't ya know...)

Right now mining it direct to BTC. AT SOME POINT it will not pay (or if so maybe electric) then choices will have to be made on if zcash has 'legs' or will 'fade'

So as to 'investing in Zcash' ..er well ...not sure ...but will get a lot of computer stuff and gpu cards in the event gpu mining goes bye bye....

(frigging crypto silly hobby!)
