They can but not having the cups do not improve your odds.

that's absolutely correct. In fact, giroud has become a machine goal for milan. Missing him and leao at the same time is obviously a disaster for the club. AC milan is not performing the same like intermilan. I don't know what kind of changes being made by pioli.
The performance from acmilan has been declining so hard. I remember the first match of UCL by acmilan this season was very promising. It was against newcastle and acmilan was doing non stop pressure toward its opponents.
The things are changing so fast. Acmilan's performance was not the same like the the match against newcastle. Lack of consistency. The club is not having good chemistry too.
ACmilan looked like a different team compared to the club before it was against newcastle. This is a setback for acmilan. The chance to lose in the game is pretty big.

AC Milan started the campaign on a very good note but has really declined in form recently and that is believed to be caused by the injury crises that's hit the club as majority of the first players are currently suffering one injury or the other.
That being said, we should also understand that sometimes some players do utilize the opportunity of playing regular football when the more preferred players are out injured. So I think the players of the club that are currently fit should give their best and prove to the club manager that they're deserve regular playing time

Especially their players in defense who suffered a lot of injuries and also, two of their key players in attack also suffered injuries such as Rafael Leao and Pulisic . No idea but maybe the game that France had today against Gibraltar gives him a little bit of the feeling to score a goal as he was brought on late in the game and scored two fast goals.
