They have been playing with fire recently, dropping that many points and now they even have to sweat at the end of the season because of their Champions League qualification being at risk. But apart from Lazio losing many games recently, it doesn't really matter which team of the top six is going to take part in the Champions League. Those are all names and teams that I would like to see in the Champions League. Even Roma would be fun to watch next season if Mourinho stays there. I would like to see him coach a team again that is playing the CL. He is always good for some strategy and drama in international tournaments.
But if you look at the table now and if you had been asked pre season to rank your first six clubs, wouldn't it have been at least very similar to what it is now? I am not so much talking about the exact order of the first six clubs, but rather about the first 6 in general. I think you could exchange Roma for Atalanta, but frankly speaking I think these top 6 teams are those that most would have chosen to be the top 6 pre season.
Therefore, it is not that much of a surprise that Atalanta is now 7th. I would even say that 90% of the people would have chosen the top 7 exactly as it is right now. Again, the order is irrelevant for the moment.
