It was a game that Inter needed to win I other to stay in touch with league leaders Napoli and despite not being able to deliver a convincing performance at Roma, they were able to get the best out of the game. Napoli's performance in recent weeks is not bad. They are not playing very successfully but the important thing is to get 3 points from the match and they are managing to do that.
They do not have a very dominant football, they do not have a great style of play but they are still at the top of the league and the point gap with their opponents will continue to widen as long as they continue to win matches like this
This season is really competitive in all the leagues and it will be really refreshing for the Napoli fans if they can get something out of this season since the last time they touched the trophy was two seasons back.

There's no doubt that it was a tight match, both teams built a strong system to not to lose, I was watching the game and almost turned off the TV because there were no goals, but I didn't because Lautaro Martinez scored a goal. He looked emotional when celebrating which shows that it was a difficult goal. Until the match ended it was proven that no more goals were scored, congrats to Inter Milan, this team still deserves to continue in the Serie A title race.
Rumagnoli got a red card in the 24th minute so Lazio couldn't match Juventus' game and instead they were more defensive and didn't make several attempts to attack. Lazio have done their best in the match even though they were short of players because they got a red card. Juventus on the other hand did not appear solid because even though they were superior in number of players they were unable to score several goals that should have been confirmed well.
I also saw Juventus' performance and appearance were not so impressive when playing against Lazio at their home ground because Juventus should have been able to win more with players who were still quite complete. But in reality Juventus only won through one own goal from Mario Gila in the 85th minute where those were quite crucial minutes for the home team like Juventus. And I think if Lazio had played with a complete number of players until the end of the match, I think Lazio would not have lost and even had the potential to win if the attacks they built could have been better.

Stats hide the fact that Inter Milan made more dangerous finishes in this match and if Roma goalkeeper did not play well, Inter Milan would have scored more goals than only one winning goal. Roma generally played worse than Inter Milan in this match but it is true that Roma are under Inter Milan in quality, not only in this match but in recent seasons. This defeat, even by a strong opponent, one of best candidates for Scudetto, is a painful result for Roma because they continue to be under half of table.

Simone Inzaghi certainly understands the meaning of losing points in today match, his team will have difficulty maintaining the Scudetto if they continue to lag behind Napoli who are currently leading the standings. Besides that, Ivan Juric efforts to bring his squad closer to the European zone are quite difficult.
This match is clearly impossible to pass because both are good enough in defending so if you put it on it is clearly a mistake and I put it on Inter it is a win.

Inter Milan won the game but with just a goal which may look disappointing because most persons before now knowing their caliber as the defending champions would favor them to win with even much more goals but i was expecting a goal from Roma as i believe they were becoming equal to challenging a team like Milan since they have been able to show some slight improvement even beyond their domestic league. But after this game, it feels Roma has got a whole lot of work to do.But Inter Milan isn't quite as solid as they used to be last season although nothing has really changed since then. It is as if a whole team can get out of shape after having won a title. It reminds me of Napoli and how they won the title almost in record breaking manner and then the season afterwards they got into trouble and couldn't achieve that level of consistency again. It's crazy sometimes as it often lacks reasonable explanation.
Maybe in the case of Napoli the transition to a new coach might have played a role back then. But when you now look at Inter Milan, nothing has changed and yet they are not as good as last season.
But as I said before, no team is fully convincing yet although Napoli has been solid for a while now.

I didn't watch the match, I just saw my ticket that had won and for me it's good. So, I guess the same goes for Inter since winning is the target. It is not how many chances you have in the game but how many of them you will manage to convert into goals. One chance can be crucial and Inter is more than serious to know that and take it. Let's see the next-round fixture against Juventus...
