I disagree with it completely, but like you said it has been talked about a million times. I believe it is managers duty to put everyone equally and in a role, it doesn't matter if you have Ronaldo or Messi or anyone else, if they play a role that they suppose to play then they will be good, if you focus everything on them in the strategy then you are going to bad.

As Always the main problem of this team is the midfield.
Neither if they will buy Haaland they will score 20 more goals when you haven't players who are able to supply the strikers.

At the moment the priority to me are
2 players in the mid > Striker > left-back
