It's one good thing to sign younger players, it's also another to see them playing alongside experienced players so they could pass on whatever they've learnt over the years to the youngins. Good example I'd say is what Kobbie of Manchester United is doing right now around Bruno Fernández and Casemiro in midfield.

Real Madrid know that young players will develop more rapidly if there are senior players within the club who can guide them. Just look at the football history of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Even Messi was mentored by Ronaldinho on the pitch and C. Ronaldo was mentored by Zidane on the pitch. I agree that Real Madrid seems to be blending youth with experience. Modric's presence proves that strategy. Kroos, like Modric, is valuable on the field and in teaching new players. This mix of youth and experience has kept Real Madrid competitive on all fronts.

Kroos' possible move to Saudi Arabia raises concerns. Real Madrid have been doing this for several seasons, they have combined young and senior players in the team to create regeneration and it has been quite successful so far and the reason for keeping Modric and Kroos is very appropriate to guide the young players.
