The season hasn't been quite adventurous for Juventus as they've been indicted to not taking part in the Europa League. They've been focusing their strength on the domestic Serie A league and they've been doing excellently well in it. They've even got a greater chance of being far ahead in the standings than the likes of Inter Milan because for others, after the league games, they'd still have to play the continental tournament and this will definitely affect players' physical capabilities too.
Although inasmuch as a weighty gap is expected of them, Inter Milan has made it difficult because they've also been in their best form. The team are using this season to put in more work to ensure a spot in next season's European cup tournament and they definitely would earn it.
They've got good set of players, right squad combination and their coach is doing his best part and giving them the right tactical approach. I don't know if they've got choice of changes to make during the mid season transfer window but at this state now, Juventus are good to go to some extent only if extra energy wants to be pumped into the squad to increase their efficiency too.
Now Juventus has shown signs of taking control of the top of the standings from Inter, even though we know that Inter still has one postponed match that has not been played. Being absent from European competitions is actually very detrimental, because the club income will drop drastically and will make it difficult for them to move in the next transfer window. If they can't win the Scudetto then that will be a new problem, because they really need bonuses to be able to build a squad and compete again in European competition next season.
On the other hand, we also see that Inter has not shown any signs of decline, even though they have more matches scheduled than Juventus. However, it is not impossible that the competition that has been created between Inter and Juventus will be revived by Milan, because there are still many matches remaining in the second half of the season, there is no certainty that Inter and Juventus will continue to get full points in every match to come.
Statistically I see Inter as slightly better than Juventus, they have a sharp striker like Martinez and better squad depth. Juventus doesn't seem to be making any moves in the January transfer window, previously I predicted they would look for a new midfielder after losing Pogba due to a doping case.
