Looking at De Gea impressive performance with Fiorentina this season, I really regret Ten Hag decision to prefer to rely on Onana. Many thought De Gea would lose his touch after resting for a long time, but when he returned, De Gea was able to meet expectations. Fiorentina were lucky enough to get De Gea, the number of goals they conceded this season has decreased significantly.
Everyone must regret it, especially those Man United fans.  Grin
At that time, Ten Hag might blame De Gea that made Man United defense to be rather weak in each match. In fact, what made the defense weak was Man United defenders which have very poor quality. And the worse one was Maguire.

De Gea have proven his quality as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Sure, Fiorentina is very lucky to have him on their squad now. Fiorentina defense becomes stronger and they can get positive results in many matches. Considering their current performance, they look like to have the chance to finish this season in UCL zone.

The draw against Juventus was fair for both teams, although Thiago Motta squad was more disappointed. So far, even though Juventus have been unbeaten in Serie A with their new manager, I'm pretty sure the fans are not happy with the 11 draws they have played.
Both teams performed quite well and they looked equally strong. However, we must admit that Juventus more dominated the match. But they failed to keep their leading in the last five minutes of normal time. Again, Juventus got a draw results. Yep, they have got 11 draws in 18 matches. It is surely a disappointing result for Juventus.

Something we often see from Juventus nowadays so it is not strange that the final result will be a draw, but it is also quite pleasing to see their match there are 4 goals scored unlike previous Juventus matches which were only draws with a narrow score or no goals, this is enough to prove that Motta has slightly improved his attack line. On the other hand, Fiorentina is not a team that is currently easy to beat since the arrival of De Gea, he has played a big part in every positive result for the team.

Fonseca's dismissal is quite surprising news, hopefully Sérgio Conceição, the new coach of AC Milan, will bring better results in the future.
I mean when it's 2-2 that is a bit of a weird one. Yes we are used to seeing Juventus get a tie, but usually because they do not concede goals too much and score that much, but when it's 2-2 which I think they had one before too right?

That means suddenly their offense was better and was able to score, and now the defense did not do as well, so these are all the things that matter. Juventus is not doing that well and considering how much they are spending, they should be able to do better than this and have a higher place in the standings. If they are doing this badly, Motta has a lot of things to explain, and so does the management, fans are furious and mad at the results and I can't blame them for it neither because they deserve to be mad.

Lastly Milan has sacked Fonseca after the 1-1 draw against Roma. Sérgio Conceição is about to arrive in. Another Portuguese manager choice but a more successful one. Let's see what happens.
Wow... That draw led to the sack of Fonseca? I haven't read any sport news today. It's a good decision, because how can a strong club like Juventus be drawing most of their matches. That is a poor result, and Juventus deserves more than this. I also thought that Juventus would win Fiorentina after taking the lead, but Juventus was unable to defend the goal till the end.
I personally think that AC Milan deserves a new coach who can hopefully bring better changes to this team. Paulo Fonseca was actually quite good for AC Milan in the UCL. Well we know AC Milan managed to win 4 times in the UCL in the last 6 matches which put them in the play-off zone. But in Serie A the situation is actually very bad. Because this team usually competes in the top 4 but currently Milan is only able to be ranked 8th. So yes, Paulo Fonseca's dismissal yesterday is actually quite understandable. And AC Milan's new coach at the moment is Sergio Conceicao. I hope their new coach can be more reliable.

It seems that Roma's performance has improved and a draw when visiting AC Milan's headquarters is quite good for AS Roma and a draw is also very fair for both teams because in the match both teams were able to play quite balanced.
Indeed, even AS Roma admitted that there was quite good development in this match. They even thought that Milan might leave them and take 3 points in this match, but in the end, Roma with Ranieri was able to hold a draw with a score of 1 - 1. It's enough. and in the future there must still be more development.
Roma this match:
  • 55% ball possession
  • 12 shots and 5 shots on target.
  • Can withstand 21 shots and 7 shots on target from Milan.
  • Quite good here
Honestly, it's obvious that AS Roma will not be relegated this season, they are not that bad, and also Ranieri was retired, so at the end of the summer he will go back to retirement. So, basically Roma management is just looking for some people that can replace Ranieri at the end of the season and fine with any result.

Milan 1-1 is a good result without a doubt, but they also would be fine with losing or winning too, either case they know they won't go down and they know they won't be in a big place neither, so they are fine with every result they have so far. Which is why I believe that we are going to end up with a different situation, it is not that easy and we need to remember that it is not going to be that easy at all.

Fiorentina equalized the points with Juventus despite having one game less.It is really incredible that Juventus has not yet been defeated in 18 games.I wonder who will stop them in the league.
Juventus are indeed unbeaten in their last 18 matches, but their dominance seems shaky. How could it not be? Out of 18 matches, only 7 have ended in wins, while the other 11 have ended in draws. These statistics reflect that even though they are difficult to beat, Juventus this season seems to have difficulty really overcoming their opponents. Many teams have been able to hold them to a draw, as if finding a gap in the Old Lady's game. They must rediscover their attacking power to lock in three points in every match.

True, most likely Milan had been thinking about firing Fonseca for a long time, they started the season badly, then there was a temporary improvement, but overall Milan is playing worse than last season, and of course they expected Fonseca to improve his results, but it is clear that it is difficult for him to work in Serie A. Milan decided to replace one Portuguese coach with another, now Conceicao will be Milan's coach.

Ac Milan should be among those teams in the top 5 and pushing very hard to challenge for the title, it seems like after last season that they did well the Ac Milan side became terribly poor and they can't play straight 5 games without losing 2 or 3 games and I wonder why they have good players and still no improvement in the team. Juventus and Ac Milan look alike and if they say I should choose between the both of them I think I'll go for Milan because they have the players but the only problem is making use of them to produce something positive while Juventus are always settling for a draw and they don't have any creative player to help the team stay strong, they can't even defend properly, talking about Juventus, seriously they need to improve (Ac Milan and Juventus).

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for Ac Milan this season, too bad for the coach (Paulo Fonseca) cause when things get out of hand with a squad, the coach is the first to be criticised and whether the players are performing well or not the whole blame is normally on the coach, I've noticed that lately, clubs are not very patient with coaches anymore if the board management feels that you're not trying enough or your best is not encouraging, they'll be forced to terminate contracts with the coach and that's why they've sacked Fonseca today, cause the team wasn't showing any sign of improvement and are not even in the top 4 currently, They're in 4th position which is poor for a team like Ac Milan, although they waited for about six months before making the final decision and despite having a big win in their Derby match against Inter Milan and another with Real Madrid in the UCL, it wasn't enough to keep him, maybe if he managed to win Roma yesterday I think they would've considered him for a while but after the draw march at home the board thought it's a right decision to sack him and appointment Sérgio Conceicao as the current manager of the club, let's see whether he'll turn things around or make it worst.

Bologna have become a team in form in recent weeks. They haven't lost in the league for a long time and they are almost in the top 6 in terms of points.Although they have 2 games less, the points difference with their closest rival is 4.They host Hellas Verona at home and they are heavy favorites against their opponents. They will want to take advantage of this as their opponents have a period of poor form.
We will watch 2 teams fighting to stay in the league.Como will host Lecce at home.Como are not playing badly in the matches but they are an inexperienced team and they are not good enough to win.Their opponents are at least in their teeth and I think they will win this match at home.

You are getting it wrong mate it wasn't Juventus that fired there coach it was AC Milan, however i was surprise when you mentioned Juventus and i began to wonder when Paulo Fonseca was hired by Juventus because he coaches a different club while Thiago Motta is for Juventus and irrespective of the few draws we have witnessed but the club will never fire there coach now because there situation is that critical and besides even if people say that the reason for AC Milan to have fired Paulo Fonseca was because of the draw with As Roma I still doubt it because they cannot tell me that As Roma cannot play draw with AC Milan, so perhaps they had mind to do this before the match.

Milan drew 1-1 with Roma at home.We knew that both teams needed 3 points but there was no winner in this match. Both teams had plenty of chances in the match but no more than 2 goals were scored.
Juventus, on the other hand, drew with Fiorentina at home.We watched a match with a high level of viewing pleasure. The first half of the match ended 1-1 and although Thuram put his team 2-1 ahead at the beginning of the second half, Fiorentina managed to get a point from this away game thanks to Sottil's beautiful goal.Fiorentina equalized the points with Juventus despite having one game less.It is really incredible that Juventus has not yet been defeated in 18 games.I wonder who will stop them in the league.

Another disappoing game for Juventus.
They were winning 2 times against Fiorentina but both times they conceded a goal and Fiorentina managed to tie the game in the latest minutes of the game.
Their race for the Scudetto is basically over now, they can enter in the race only with a miracle now.
This is something unique. Usually a team with an unbeaten record will be ranked 1 or 2 in the standings because being unbeaten means they dominate every game. But Juventus is different. They are unbeaten but they have 11 draws and 7 wins. It seems like they have a problem in their defense because they conceded several goals in the final minutes of the match.
Yes they should forget about the scudetto. With the points they have I think only a miracle will make them champions. Right now I think Juventus can focus on improving their ranking and getting a position in the UCL zone.

It was obvious that he was going to leave the team, and the last score made the management take a decision.
The expected happened. Sergio Conceição is the new manager of AC Milan. Milan, who parted ways with Paulo Fonseca after poor results, immediately made a change of manager. After Pioli, Fonseca failed to deliver the desired results. Conceição last managed Porto last season. Let's see how he will do in Italy. It's a fact that the league is more difficult than Portugal.

I know Fiorentina have been in good form this season but I wasn't also expecting them to get a point when they visited Juventus yesterday but at the end, it ended in a 2:2 draw. Juventus results this season I think is below the predictions of many at the start of the season especially after the signed a young but experienced manager in the person of Thiago Motta.
David De Gea like you pointed out produced yet another man of the match performance. Since he joined Fiorentina in the summer, the Spanish international have really done a lot in his performances and id you ask me, I think he's the club's best player this season.

I watched both of those games last night and the one that amused me the most was Juventus - Fiorentina honestly.  Roll Eyes  I was expecting a win for Juventus by a small margin but I really admired Fiorentina's not dropping from the game until the end. I can say Juventus were more dominant in the second half but they once again got a draw. Unbelievable... They are the weirdest team in the league now with 11 draws in 18 games while being unbeaten at the same time.  Cheesy

By the way I really loved De Gea's effort here. He made some critical saves which played a big role in that point they got. It is nice to see him back in professional football. I would recommend Manchester United to see what they are missing.

To be honest, Manchester United needs to come watch what they are missing after De Gea was named man of the match against Juventus. De Gea made important saves that stopped Juventus from scoring several goals; if De Gea is still Manchester United's goalkeeper, they would not be conceding unnecessary goals from corner kicks. Juventus was unable to maintain the advantage, which would have increased their league points, but they remain in sixth place because Fiorentina leads them by one goal.

However, when it was time for AC Milan to defeat Roma, they failed to do so, a team that has been much worse this season. Although Milan's play has also been unstable this season, I was hoping for a better outcome because Roma hasn't defeated a major team to indicate that they are back to winning ways. After the home draw, Milan's management fired Fonseca, and Sérgio Conceição is now appointed as the new manager.

Lazio played the whole match almost dominant against Atalanta. When we reached the 90th minute, Zaniolo made magic, he made a perfect pass to Lookman in a position where there was no goal, and Lookman made an assist to Brescianini. Atalanta continued to press after the goal, if Atalanta had scored another goal, it would have been a heartbreaker for Lazio.

Lazio was very good in the first half. Atalanta took control in the second half, but they could not score until Zaniolo made that pass. Although the match ended in a draw, Atalanta was the team that was happy with the draw.

Lazio started the match better. They had many scoring positions at the beginning of the match. Gendouzi had a shot that hit the post. Dele Bashiru scored a great goal and they took the lead. By the way, Dele Bashiru played for Hataysor last season. He was loaned to Lazio with a compulsory purchase clause. He has been getting more chances in recent weeks. With the goal he scored in this match, I think he secured his place in the team.

I agree with your comment about the match, Lazio played better in the first half. But in the second half Atalanta played better.  They gave the Lazio defense a hard time in the second half. Because of the pressure they created, the Lazio defense made too many mistakes. And in the second half Lazio failed to create any danger in the Atalanta goal except on the counterattack. They gave us a good game.

This season Fiorentina after De Gea arrival has been the most productive team under the crossbar. I don't think Vlahovic shot will be cleared by De Gea who has limited hands. This draw is very favourable for Fiorentina because they still have 1 game left to play and if they can steal points from Napoli, the race for the Champions League ticket will become very interesting. The next match will not be easy, Napoli will also target three points to return to first place.

Venezia had made it difficult for Napoli to break through their goal even though they were quite dominant in controlling the match, Antonio Conte troops had to fight towards the end of the match to find the winning goal. The three points obtained in this game are very important for Napoli to maintain their chances in the hunt for the championship title because Atalanta, who are at the top of the standings, were only able to get a draw when playing away at Lazio's headquarters.
On paper, Napoli should have won easily, but Venezia performed beyond expectations in this match.
What you said is true because before the Napoli vs Venezia match started I thought that Napoli would win a lot at home when hosting Venezia. But what happened was beyond expectations because Napoli was only able to break through Venezia's goal in the second half or more precisely in the 79th minute by Raspadori. However, the victory by one goal was also very meaningful for Napoli because Napoli's target itself was to win in order to have the same points as Atalanta.
Napoli find it difficult to use home advantage to secure many goals from Venzia, but they secured victory at the end of the game to beat Venzia 1:0 to have the same points with Atalanta in the Italian league table. Those that predicted for Napoli to win in their home make money from their prediction last night because Napoli never agree for Venzia to end the game for draw 0:0, which was the major concern of the Venzia players but Napoli coach gave some words of advise in the second half to his players that made the goal to came out for Napoli to win the game.

Now that Napoli have succeeded to have the same points with Atalanta that is in the first position in the able, I guess Atalanta will take their next game very serious because I know they are not comfortable with the points they are having with the team that is in second position, which they will do something nice to  make their points higher than Napoli in the next game.

Juventus is the only team that has never lost in this season. But they are in 6th position right now. I think they have only 1 win in the last 6 matches. All the other matches are draws. I have never seen such a ball-less performance. Like, go for the win at this point even if you are risking losing. I don't think they are going to achieve anything if they keep performing like this. I know a lot of people are not going to agree with me. But that's alright. Some people like to see beautiful football regardless of the result. But I want to see a competitive season and a good competition from a good team. And I think Juventus to be a good team. Watching them 9 points away from the first position actually makes me sad. They also have some hard matches coming up. So I don't even think they will be able to keep the lossless streak that they have right now.
