This is really a thing? There's a competition about who reports the most abuse posts?

A friendly competition, yes.  It's a good thing as the mods can't be everywhere at once.  Smiley

I don't see it as a "friendly competition" I see it as a punishment for wasting my time  Tongue. Most of my reports are about threads in a wrong section or users copy-pasting. I hate wasting my time reading posts that I have already read on another website, or reading spam topics on a pump and dump telegram channel.

I have never met cases of copy-pasting here, but I guess it is because of I read crypto news in my native language. The only thing for reports I saw here it is case of multiply accounts, like on Meta board appear a thread "my friend's account is banned" or "my wife's account is banned", such threads are just rediculous, but I've never reported any I guess, I just do not know how to check out an IP address  Tongue

Impressive.

I've been reporting a lot fewer posts now that we have the merit system--and I feel much less stress these days, too. *Whew*
Really? Because that's not been my experience at all. The merit system seems to have made no difference for me whatsoever.

Yeah this all we need to avoid some members who created two or more accounts just get more project in bounty campaign. These are greedy members who were actually milking the system. It should be reported to the moderator so that we could help promote the healthy environment for the system. Yet, in dealing with these reports we must also consider that some of the members here are not too good in grammar construction. The thoughts must be consider in reporting to a post or somehow their should be any guide on how and when to report post. I hope that I could see some threads regarding on how to report post. Since I am newbie here, I am still have a lot of research to do and I am also interested in the cryptocurrency that one day I might have.

What I would really like to see is some feedback on which of my reports were good, bad, or ignored. As it stands now, I report egregious (in my opinion) serial posters and wall-quoters and off-topic spammers and a week later the posts are still there. Sometimes I'm not even sure if I reported them since there is no way to check so I might be reporting the same ones again.

I, too, would like to see an updated reporting report.  Before the merit system was introduced, I think I was spending more time searching for shitposts than actually posting here.  And as you can imagine, the garbage posts were not hard to find.  They were (and still are to some extent) everywhere.  My report count is now something like 3000 with an accuracy of 98%, I think.

Hilariousandco handled a lot of the spammers I reported, and I am grateful for that.  It's nice when you suddenly see someone get busted back down to brand new because a mod deleted all of their shitposts.  I've been reporting a lot fewer posts now that we have the merit system--and I feel much less stress these days, too. *Whew*

I am alive but in hibernation.

Sorry for my ignorance, How can I find this.
(because I reported few, but I do not know outcome. If it is part of user stats then I get message like user stats are disabled for this user)

Last time instead of reporting the posts, I actually reported the user in PM to moderator. I got below in reply.

Cleaned up his threads, thanks for the heads up.

In relation to reports, @theymos could we get some statistics on how many reports are made a day, and how many of them are bad/good reports? It would be interesting to know how many reports the staff are having to deal with on a day to day basis.

In theory. But, these discussions don't happen anymore. The board doesn't have a dedicated moderator, so maybe theymos would be willing to add one to clear up the mess. We all know that the politics and society has been a mess for awhile. Hilariousandco has mentioned it a few times in the past.

That would be Nice!  I find myself limited to just Meta board these days. The rest of the forum is just not even worth clicking on anymore.

Accuracy?  Try reporting threads in Politics and Society.(One of my Favorite Areas of the forum) Your Accuracy will drop to shit......watch as the threads remain even though they are shit and have nothing to do with the topic.  I have reported so many only to be ignored and watch my accuracy drop.   That Area has become off topic and i don't visit it anymore. So sad. Piss poor Moderating in that section that's for sure.

I don't spend any time in the politics and society board anymore. Most of the things which need to be discussed have already been discussed throughly and any major events that need to be discussed I will read at other sites.

Spam is spam at the end of the day and should be easily identifiable most of the time. Taking a look at someones post history and including a note in the report field can sometimes help if they are posting the same thing over and over. Although, I agree some sections are easy than others for example, most of my reports these days are from the altcoin section and it's very easy to keep your percentage up when there's hundreds of posts which consist of the same spam. Though, it's still painful to sort through and report them all.

Good job!

I disagree. Politics and Society are ever changing Day to Day so should that Sub Forum. You Can never cover it all. The world is too vast and too much going on to cover it all or discuss it all. I enjoyed the Debates and discussions there about the World Happenings From people in the specific area.   Such a great area it was.   Sad to see it has gone to shit.....Now i have to visit Reuters.com to get my world info ....And it's not from the people of said countries  Undecided

What's your accuracy? Anything over 60% is considered good AFAIK.

The only board I don't report is my local board, it's not moderated at all, the guy doesn't care much (he post once per month or less, last time was to say oh I see the merits system Cheesy Cheesy) He only waits the members to report and as no one report, no one moderate (members got tired to report for nothing and seeing the guy is inactive) To give you an exemple, you go to the dev section and you find a topic about how to find a bounty campaign LOL. Bitcoin section is mixed with altcoin, members introduction and so on...

We can't always put the spoon in the mouth if he doesn't make an effort

Should either speak to him about it, or contact theymos. If there's enough spam to justify moderation then you'll need an active moderator to deal with it. I'm sure theymos will check whether the mods 1. active 2. if the thread needs either another mod, or replace the current one.

576 posts with 99% accuracy

Hard to reach the 100%, sorry Mods if sometimes I waste your time Cheesy

With a report accuracy at 99% you certainly aren't wasting anyones time.

Although, it isn't 100% accurate, rather it's rounded  up. It would be nice if something could be implemented to show this sort of stat permanently to the public as it seems there's enough interest in it to justify it. Also I asked Lutpin recently if he ever won the race to 20k with Shorena but, he hadn't reached it yet. Seems Shorena wasn't active for a few months too, but he may have reached it.

I never realised people were using it that much, I should probably pay more attention to Meta.  This is quite the eye-opener for me.
Theymos' last reported stats served as my eye-opener. I already had hundreds of reports.

It's time to see how the other grizzled reporters are doing. Post your stats!
I'm not sure how useful it is to fill a thread with stats, but here's mine* anyway:
