Faucets are not worth your time. The payout from one could be under the minimum transaction size - i.e. - if the fee costs more to send than the faucet gives. A bigger issue with faucets is that an outgoing transaction from your wallet could be composed of multiple miniscule dust amounts, which could cause your transaction to become larger in size, and possibly costing you more in fees than you have collected from the faucets.

Faucets are good for beginners, assuming something comes from it, and they are good for promotion, especially for altcoins. But you would probably be better off just buying $50 or $100 of bitcoin on an exchange or localbitcoins.com and having the satisfaction of knowing that you are invested in bitcoin to some amount, and that you know how to negotiate the buy and sell system. Then you will be better informed to teach others. A lot of people started with $50 or $100 investments...

faucets are suppose to be treated like donations for the poor. basically to get people started.

they are not meant to be treated as a regular income, so i think your problem is that you keep pushing your luck on the same faucets.

secondly, you need to research satoshi dust limit... you will find that most websites offering multiple faucet access, clump all donations into one lump and pay out above the satoshi dust limit of over 5000 satoshis.

if only people were not so greedy to try using faucets as a regular income. then these faucets would give out one time donations of above the satoshi dust limit.

just like mining, the more you try to be greedy and grabbing as much as you can, the harder it gets.

Can anyone help with this? Im new to BTC and after talking about it with a guy at work i decided to give it a go. I won't put any real money into it until i see for myself if its worth my time. He told me about the faucets and also about how they pay out peanuts for youre time but i thought i would start there and see what happens. I've been using Land of Bitcoin Faucets and extras for 3+ weeks. Every day i do around 20 faucets. (I know this isnt alot but im still sceptical about BTC) So far the biggest single payout i received was 1,750 Satoshi which i was amazed at....now im just Pi**ed off immensely. I only have one wallet and one ID on my laptop. My Bitcoin wallet has been catching up and on Thursday it finally fully caught up....and my wallet is still empty.

Why?
