I would keep 100k in the coins you mentioned at the percentages you mentioned and buy a house or any other asset that will not drain the rest of your money. Big opportunity this is!

Hi Guys

I've been in the crypto scene for many years now, first time post here over a dilemma I am facing.

So, I am fortunate enough to make 600k from buying and trading Bitcoin and other crypto assets, and I don't know what to do with the money. Personally I think this is the year I will become a millionaire, as I can only see the marketcap of all coins growing. But friends close to me think I am an idiot for not selling yet, and if it were to collapse to zero, I would never forgive myself. But they don't know the market like I do, and I do believe that it is only the beginning. They say I should sell 95% buy a house, a car and live a nice lifestyle. I am frugal, have always lived within my means and never spent any crypto money as of yet, but I am tempted to start spending some of it now. I am 26 years old, rent an apartment and drive a car worth less than most peoples pushbikes.

Hi. Congratulations for your gains in the bull market. However, it's way harder to  gain in a bear market. You're saying that you would never forgive yourself if it goes down and not selling. It's a traders dillema. You could also be angry if you sold and then the price skyrocketed after that. My advice is, if you hodl so much value in crypto, that you find some more experienced traders with a good TA analysis reputation.

Keep living frugally. Diversify diversify diversify.

Don't buy a house.

A house bound you to government.

The point of having bitcoin is to be free.

Breed. Inherit your wealth to your biological children.
You are quite lucky to have this much of earning while being into the world of the bitcoin as there are so many who are trying their bets and are still unable to make anything fruitful. I don’t think so that there is any such need of quitting it as far as you are making some good money out of it. You need to stay there and keep doing the things in the similar manner so that you can have more money.

I am 26 years old, rent an apartment and drive a car worth less than most peoples pushbikes.

My portfolio currently looks like this....

43% Raiblocks
40% Oyster Pearl
5% Enigma
4%Dash
1.5% Bitcoin
and tiny holdings in Waves, Lisk, Stratis, Game.....

I think that both XRB and PRL can double easily this year.

This is not based on greed btw, I want to make enough money so I can buy my siblings houses and see them mortgage free.

What would you do if you were me? When do we call it a day and give up trading?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

A year older than me and i'm very well off (not in necessarily in terms of Crypto)... I think theres a few things to consider here:

1. Whats your actual income at the moment? If it's low, then selling half or so to buy property and rent it out etc... is not actually a bad shout. If its high, then skimming some profits (not necessarily up to half) is also a decent move.
2. Renting is just not financially optimal either way, so that I can appreciate you should consider doing away with - buy somewhere to live, get a mortgate if you dont wanna use up too much cyrpto on this but do something.
3. Just from making 0.1% a day in a volatile market like this, thats 600$ roughly a day, i'd definitiely be skimming profits by this point if i was you.

That said, you can risk it all and possibly lose it or quadruple it.... It will never be "enough", but there is defo potential to make more. I say find the balance, somewhere in between.

Reading the replies of OP it seems that he made up his mind and never call it a quits and just planning to hold some and diversify the rest and it's a good and wise move to do. Cryptos are just starting its era so it's too early to call it quits and I think no one in the right mind will quit when he knew that he can profit big.

Yeah, common ! I mean, I see no reason for OP to quit too. He has built a good start that some of us wish to have got to & with 26 age, he has fresh energy to go all out for diversification. As rightly said , cryptos are just starting up, he could build more money since he already has the capital .

In my view, I think he should split into two, invest one part in real estate and then sell off some of the coin that have got to there highs and then buy cheaper coins with good tendencies for growth in the future. Meanwhile, I hope he is keeping his securities and code save, also disclosing to a trusted party - just incase.

or he can invest in both, blockchain powered real estate technology. A lot of them are appearing but few ones are worth the time to invest in. (e.g. Proppy, AQWIRE, Needacoin) imo though.

600k dollars is very big amoun and for sure before you get that amount or profit better to have also big capital becaude you will not make 600k dollars if you have small capital. Because we know those peolle who earn a lot of money because they can earn a lot of profit because they have a lot of money to buy different altcoin and there's many not only some.  It depends also to the coins that you bought if it's possible to increase the price or not.
uniquely to deal with any projects, you must initially study all the technical information and documentation of this project. It's almost a certain percentage to make my investments risky.

Well, you should not ask such questions because noone knows what will happen, so any advice is just an assumption about what will happen in future... Maybe you should've sell everything, because this year is becoming tough for us...

he could still hold his coin too if he wants because if he sells right now, I don't think that he can make a good profit because every altcoin in almost all of the exchanges is dropped 30% or more. but for me, if I can see that the price could go up into the highest price, I will sell 75% from the total amount and save the profit and wait if there are any down for the price. and I don't want to give up trading because I really like to do trading for now and I still want to make more profit in the future.

Holy sh*t! Dude you mind giving a more better explanation to this? Do you mean 600k dollars, euros or what? Mehn… you must have made a lot of money in this, what the… I haven’t even gotten up to 100k dollars in this. Well, from the way things are actually working out for me, I expect to hit a huge profit soon. But I don’t think you should call it a quit yet, but be careful on how you invest so you don’t lose what you have gained.
Probably he is very talented he has great skill and maybe some luck as well, I have been in cryptocurrencies for some time as well and I'm not close to 600k dollars like him but thanks to the growth in the market in the last year I still got great profits and since I plan to hold for a very long time I know that I will eventually get the profits that I needed and that I want.

Call it quit is what you should never sign up for, the need to invest will always arise, so keep doing what you are good at, accumulate more so you can invest in any upcoming ICO to expand the crypto-world.

I really hope he sold those currencies 2 months ago.

He's probably down to about 250-300K right now.

OP posted on 1/9 right around the ATH market cap.

Hope he sold,  allocated for taxes, maxed out his IRA for 2017 and 2018,  bought a small duplex, rented out the other side, took a nice vacation for a month, and came back and bought the same amount he sold or less than 1/2 of what he paid.

I don't know about you but I would get out, I am not greedy and 600k is a lot of money. I would eventually buy back in, maybe buy lots of monero and neo then keep for a while and then take a vacation to mexico and enjoy myself
True , I would do the same but the thing is , after earning so much of money from a particular thing we get involved in it too much and try to gain more from the same . I would back off though , 600k would change my life (anyone's life for that matter ).

Bitcoin can provide a good profit, and I think you have to increase the percentage of bitcoins, because I'm pretty sure that even if you hold bitcoin for a long time, you'll get a lot of revenue.

Don't give up as long as you earn money. When you lose everything, quit.

If this is true then take out about 350k and keep investing with the rest, if you have made 600k I believe you will be able to make even more. I don't know what you will end up doing but if it were me, that's what I would do
