Thank you so much!

Best of luck, Thomas!

I can give you access to the website.

If I do so, I would like you to keep the following:
 * General layout
 * Current IXC logo
 * Top description paragraph of IXC
 * Bottom FAQ

You can change the rest. Or link to other internal or external pages.

Those are some interesting requirements.  Who is this Thomas Guy and what's his goal?

Unless you want to work something out with ahmed_bodi to obtain the github.com/ixcoin repository, it will become the new official ixcoin developers link for 9.2 and beyond.

Thank you for your work.

I can give ahmed_bodi collaborator access to the Ixcoin github if people think he is trustworthy.

I think Ahmed is trustworthy.  If there are no objections from other members then I say give him access.

Thank you, Thomas.

Thank you for trusting me; I will do as you say.

But I have to ask, the website is so outdated and generic, wouldn't a full redesign be much better?  Did you ever see Luke's website design.  I really think we need something like that.

Thanks again!

THOMAS,

Can you also give your chosen rep access to your iXCoin twitter account?  We have other twitter accounts but I think yours looks the most legit.

If not then I'll use the @IXCFoundation twitter account which I created recently since that's a legit looking one as well.

Regards...

I don't believe Twitter allows me to give others access to the account. If there is a way, then please let me know.

Let's see how things go with your management of the website and go from there.

Those millions of IXC will never be redeemed. The clients were being run out of several virtual machines that have long been since deleted in the earliest of IXC attacks by yours truly. For all of those who do not remember, TN was the original pre-mine scammer "enthusiast" who didn't bother to disclose that fact until it was discovered post launch. That was the sole reason the "I0coin" was created.

IXC will never go anywhere till TN decides to step away.

BTW, TN is *not* a single individual, IXcoin had a developer and a front man who posted as TN who has indicated several times he is not a developer at various points on the board. The original developer dropped the project after they realized that the premine wasn't going to work leaving TN to handle things on his own which is why it decayed into the zombie it was for a couple of years.

~BCX~

The original premine wasn't going to work?  Meaning what?  From the beginning there was no intention to dump it as Thomas was actually buying IXC and no IXC was ever dumped.

So what didn't work then?  They spent more money in launching IXC than the entire premine was worth at the time.  Again, the quick cash scam premine theory makes no sense.

And Thomas doesn't have to step away if 3 years later his promise and premine are still intact?  In fact that adds massive integrity to Thomas and IXC since no dev has ever held on to a premine that long and never sold any of it while continuing to pay large bounties 3+ years later.

Thomas could have easily dumped the premine and blamed you for killing the coin and simply walked away so the fact he didn't do that and he's still here with the whole premine is the most amazing thing about iXCoin.

But I do wish Thomas would get serious cause his behavior makes me so angry sometimes that I would like to see him gone as well; but I would much rather prefer that he stays but get more involved in IXC.

Finally, I too think there are others involved with Thomas.  And I think there's a hedge fund or maybe something bigger behind Thomas and IXC pulling all the strings.  Cause to me all of this looks way too well planned out which, if true, is very good news for all IXC holders.

I'm still concerned over what the default minimum Ixcoin transaction fee should be set @

If Ixcoin goes up to where I think it should be, the current level is fine....actually I haven't a clue.  If the price stays low or goes to near zero, we had better plan on having a large transaction fee in place.

Don't think we should be letting anybody send coins with a zero transaction fee though, its soon going to cause us problems and I'm leaning toward a very high minimum.  Like one coin.

If nobody speaks up, it's going to be whatever ahmed_bodi decides it should be set at, and come to think of it, I'm curious about what his opinion is on that point as well as any other miners/devs listening in.  Note: If all you have to say is this coin is dead, please don't respond.  It's far far from dead and has a long history that is only going to get much longer.

@markm - Hope you got things working with an upgraded client?  If not let us know.

ETA:
@Nasakioto - You must have thought about this day allot, any ideas or opinions appreciated too...

Since CEX.io will be the ones mining IXC [for free] and thus securing it, I think they should have a say in what the minimum fee will be.

I'll send a message to Jeffrey and ask him to chime in.

Cheers!

Edit:  I sent a message to Jeffrey at CEX.io so I hope to get a detailed response within 24 hours.  I'll let Ahmed know at that time so he can update the code with the proper fee schedule.

Hi,

I haven't read through all the forum posts since I last checked last month. Apparently ahmed_bodi has developed or is developing an update to 0.9.2. I'm happy to look at it and maybe someone can send me a link to the release/code. If the community has an opinion on his work, please let me know too. If it looks good and the community is fine with it, I can pay the bounty.

I see someone is mentioning updating ixcoin.org. I'm happy to give a trusted someone access to ixcoin.org to put more updates there as I don't have the time to work on it myself.

Greetings Thomas!

Ditto cinnamon_carter's suggestions.  As you can see that github branch is forked off this location:
https://github.com/IXCoin-Dev/IXCoin

Unless you want to work something out with ahmed_bodi to obtain the github.com/ixcoin repository, it will become the new official ixcoin developers link for 9.2 and beyond.

For my part, I've been testing the win32 exe on an XP SP3 computer, and it's working fantastic, from a client wallet users pov:
Windows QT: https://www.dropbox.com/s/743o27bf80g850o/ixcoin-qt-0.9.2.1-win32.zip

The only problem I've found so far, besides a very few cosmetic issues, is that an upgrade from your v0.3.24.3 client first MUST be made with FrictionlessCoin's v8.6 wallet, then the upgrade from there to 9.2 has been working perfectly and was nearly instantaneous.  That executable found here:
http://www.ixcoin.co/?page_id=21

Note: No coins have ever been lost by me in sending/receiving between any of the 3 versions.  The above issue ONLY matters if an old coin holder wants to migrate 3+ years of blockchain files from the v0.3.24.3 client to the new 9.2.1 client, they must first upgrade to the 8.6 version, then the 9.2.1 we're about to release.  Anyone can re-download ALL 3+years of blockchain at any time, with any version.

My intention is to produce a ixcoin-bootstrap-20140xxx.zip file as close to right after the last mined coins appear, then make it available for download and/or via a torrent....

Note to community:  Assuming FrictionlessCoin is no longer involved, whomever paid for and/or is going to be in charge of the new or rejuvenated ixcoin.org site, needs to grab all the content from the ixcoin.co website that seems useful to us moving forward as the new community, expect it to disappear.  Note that FrictionlessCoin also has those executables up on SourceForge here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ixcoin-ng/files/iXcoin/ixcoin-0.8.6/beta/
And the source is on his GitHub repository, I've copies of all those files, but not anything else that might be on the ixcoin.co site.

Best of luck to you Thomas, as much as I would have liked to qualify for that bounty, my hats off to ahmed_bodi for getting this done, I'm certain it will be only a matter of days after he's thoroughly tested the new ixcoin merged mining code on PolyMYR pools, before he's able to give us a complete release that meet your requirements.

Thanks for planting the seed  Grin

@cinnamon_carter  Looking forward to your compile testing....

@Community - Are we going to have a wiki.ixcoin.org site as well?  If not we should change references in the new ixcoin 9.2 client code (console help) back to reference the bitcoin.org wiki....

GR

Thank you so much for finally logging in.  Please understand how difficulty it is to put up with a dev that is never here after promising bounties and progress.  On top of it all we look like fools not being able to update our own website/github which only you have access to.

You don't have to choose me but please choose someone you trust to update the website, GitHub and maybe also have access to paying bounties.

I am available full-time for iXCoin, as I have been the past 18 months, so I can do whatever is required but I would need access from you.  If you think I'm an asshole or you simply don't trust me that's fine, just please give someone access so we can appear somewhat organized and professional.

Thank you so much!

Best of luck, Thomas!

i forked his repo here  https://github.com/photonproject/IXCoin-1

i have not had time to compile and test it yet, should be able to do so on linux and windows not a mac,

I own no heavy mining equipment but can certainly check it out

He is well known as a problem solver and I doubt I would be able to fix something if he cannot get it to work.

Please consider giving Vlad access to the website or Deadsea if you won't give it to Vlad.

Thanks

ps

I don't know if you know the answer or now but do you know who mined milions of iX early on as unredeemed at output to all different addresses ?

Whoever did it had to know what they were doing.

Is it you ?  I know your early posts show you were buying iX from others willing to sell.

If you don't know or care not to answer I respect your privacy.

I have studied many coins and never (other than bitcoin) have seen such care gone to early mining unredeemed coins at output.

Whoever controls these private keys is sitting on a stash of iX that is probably the largest in the world.

Can someone explain to me how IXC is now the most secured alt-coin on the planet when it was 3rd just 2 months ago?

Given anyone who's doing merge mining will also mine Devcoin. I0Coin and Namecoin why and how would IXC be the only one blowing everyone else out of the race?

It would mean that someone is adding massive hash power and purposely choosing to only merge mine IXC with Bitcoin, which means they're intentionally leaving a lot of money on the table by not mining the other alts.

Is this correct?

If so, who would do such a thing and why?

[Yes, the above question is rhetorical and is meant only as as test]

You are right.
It's just a redirect.
We need a shorter link, easier to remember.
You could make one, if you wish.
Im fine with a redirect/frame aslong they dont change the donation addresses or impose that they are the owners Smiley

Don't worry. You are the Hero. Well, Legendary.

---------

Interesting this website: It can show the coins in descending difficulty. Where is iXcoin?  Roll Eyes

http://www.coinwarz.com/miningprofitability/sha-256?sort=diff&dir=desc

Frictionlesscoin, maybe it's time you update the description on your website ixcoin.co " iXcoin: The First Alternative to Bitcoin. Secured with 7.2 PetaHash/s"

Add a zero and it should be fine Smiley

It looks like IXC is celebrating its coming 'death' with fireworks.
The difficulty (from Vircurex): 2nd place

Bitcoin   27,428,630,902

Devcoin   12,013,522,376

Ixcoin   13,179,218,570

Namecoin   10,161,535,451

It's first place.

IXC should be compared to its peers which are other alts.

So iXcoin is now the most secure altcoin on earth.  No biggie - all alts [ShitCoins] have copy and paste features so who cares about security.  Haha!
