At this time it is set at 0.   Prior to mid 2015 a decision will need to be made as what it the appropriate value for the coin to continue to receive the hash rate that it is currently receiving.
this would require hardfork. it would be problematic to get majority of miners to upgrade. majority may continue to mine on existing blockchain. it would change investment reason for those who have bought coin based on existing semantics. effectively it becomes a new coin. it would be an interesting experiment to change coin at such a stage.

So instead of 0 IXC per block, it could be 1 IXC per block.  That way the pools will continue to merge mine the coin.
but it will be 0 won't it? only transaction fees will count and currently the only transaction fees are created by those transferring to/from pools/exchanges. ixcoin needs users!

You are correct that iXcoin needs more users.

The strategy one of our partners is implementing is for iXcoin to target a more specific market.

Furthermore,  the plan is to have more ways to exchange iXcoin,  this includes web, smart phone and SMS based wallets.

I'm not yet convinced it's going to survive 2015. If you can convince me there is a future for ixcoin even without merged mining (or with merged mining and fees?!) then I might reconsider. Meanwhile, I will play a bit with super undervalued coins like...Moon.

I'm the developer who upgraded the 2 1/2 year old code to the latest version of iXcoin.

The 2015 is a non issue.   Worse case scenario is that  merged mining will continue with mining subsidy at a much lower payoff rate than it is today.  Today it is at 96 IXC per block.   So instead of 0 IXC per block, it could be 1 IXC per block.  That way the pools will continue to merge mine the coin.

Cool man, glad you joined us.  I think this coin is seriously primed to take off.  You've been keeping up so what's your take?
to me it's a gamble. it depends what people will do when minting stops and mining income moves to transaction fees. the coin becomes rarer so cost might increase. but miners might leave it (especially ghash.io which probably has >80% of the hash rate) which means transactions will be slow and people mihgt leave. If the coin is scarce price might rise. if coin is dead price will drop. so it all depends, in my mind, to what people will do when minting stops. what do you think will happen then? i'm banking on scarce coin = price rise.

I think MOON is in-play for a pump, just look at the volume.

But you're talking cheap?  Moon has 27 billion ShitCoins.  Do the math, iXcoin is cheaper.  IXC is cheaper and it's tested and proven where moon is another turd waiting for the pump and dump.

Buy it and flip it but buy some IXC to hold.

Edit:  High volume on GDC too.  Another turd that may be worth flipping.

IxCoin is still expensive in my view. Then again, maybe I shouldn't have sold at 3k satoshis.

Lol, sorry man, I shouldn't have provoked you but you pissed me off.

It's cheap man - just look at the latest developments.  We've got a sweet talented new crew. A bit mysterious but who cares.

Seriously, I feel bad, buy a few K coins.  There's only 21 million total coins ever, just like BTC, so the price is cheap.

Yeah, iXcoin is about to go on a major tear, newbie.

Right now it's on Vircurex and Cryptsy.  But we're close to adding some more.

Buy a few thousand iXcoin while you can.

Too bad the creator is gone and chillin' with Satoshi.

Tell that guy Thomas and Satoshi will be there.

BTW, Folks... Like https://www.facebook.com/iXcoin  on FaceBook!

Got this message:

Hello. My name is Teddy.

I was hoping you could help me make contact with the creator of IXcoin.

We are hosting The Crypto Currency Convention in NYC on April 9th. We would like them to speak and promote IXcoin.

Our mission is to bring awareness and acceptance to all Crypto Currency and not just bitcoin.

Education and exposure is the only way we all win.

We are expert marketers and expect 1500-2000 attendees.

If you could please forward a message or somehow make an introduction, it would be greatly appreciated and productive.

This is going to be a huge success and we are so excited to be a part of this with you!!!

With Respect.

Now we are at block 187045

When Luke' survey will be ended, the mined coins will be over 18 millions (85.7%), leaving less then 3 millions to be mined.

85% -> block 185938

90% -> block 196875

Every day ~ 7000 new coins are produced. Where are they?

70,000 you mean?

That's a good question.  There's should be a lot for sale and there is not.
