So? What importance does this news have?
Jack is the CEO of Twitter and has 4 million followers, many of whom probably don't know a lot about bitcoin. Consider it good publicity

Regardless who Jack is, if people got excited and market pump just because news like this (without any real adoption)
He's also the CEO of Square (which owns The Cash App) and has investments in companies that develop crypto protocols, so it's actually pretty cool that we get to know that he's a firm supporter of btc (whatever his motives may be)

Ohhhhhhh the name jack doesn't really mean something to me when I first read the thread but now I know. I don't really care what he is holding but to those who believe the guy, it should be a big thing as its like endorsing the coin. Did this news come as a storm like being published on forbes magazine?

I'm just hoping this isn't yet another one of those times where some celebrity says something positive about Bitcoin and everyone makes a big deal out of it, because they think it'll help with price/adoption/whatever.  Then the celebrity says/does something stupid and everyone suddenly pretends it was never a big deal and moves onto the next celebrity who said something positive.

Hope beyond all hope, my friend. This was/is still trending on Twitter/Reddit, judging from what I'm being shown, and any follow up guaranteed thousands of upvotes/likes.

Not that I'm cynical or a hater or anything like that, but I'm more excited when my regular service provider tells me I can pay in bitcoin, then in some rich guy claiming he's into Bitcoin. He's really trying to be popular too even getting on LN. Power to Jack, but preferably, power to the people!

Majority has got bitcoin and ethereum as an asset for long holding while other tokens were used into trading. Though more and more assets with better use cases were into existence it hasn't gained the trust of common people which is the must with cryptocurrency. To reach the level of bitcoin and ethereum it requires a long time as the network competence have increased a lot than the past days

And which are those assets, really?

I'm extremely interested in learning about such assets, so could you name a few? Other than Bitcoin (and Litecoin, I have to admit), I don't know any cryptocurrency in particular or a cryptoasset in general (though I don't know what the latter could be apart from a token) which would count as one "with better use cases". All use cases we have seen so far amounted to speculation in the end. But I would be happy to admit being wrong here

I was the only one who realized this:
--snip--

that is the result of a whole year of advertisement telling people to "hold their shitcoins and shittokens and have patience". eventually a great number of people started to think that they have to keep on holding shitcoins because bitcoin is rising in long term then they also must do the same!
that is also why we have so many online portfolio managers and lots of apps for pc and android for the same false mentality which is going to go away by the first half of 2019 as majority of these tokens are going to be purged and join their counterparts in the altcoin graveyard.

okay it's quite interesting to discuss it here, I think not only the founding jack of Twitter there might be other founders who are also the same as him for example Google, Facebook or others, so whether that would make the value of Bitcoin better, so I will wait for others to say that's in 2020

why are you waiting for them to say whether they have bitcoin or not? are you incapable of making your own decisions when it comes to bitcoin that you need some hyped up event to let you know what to do next!
it is pretty simple, you either see some potential in bitcoin and buy or you don't and you stay away. you shouldn't just wait for other people to do something so you can follow Wink
This is savage, lol  Cheesy.

Actually there are people who tend to trust in to things when famous individuals started to use or endorse it, that's the world works since the beginning I assume so there's no problem with that. Lucky to those who chose to explore first as they got their rewards and imitating someones action is fine.

I was the only one who realized this:

 Grin

leaving a joke aside, bitcoin is already have big popularity, it just needs a big campaign that makes governments aware of regulating that market in a way that is very good for governments and for people. We need to get back to having bitcoin debit card, we have to use the banks without fear of blocking our accounts because we are using cryptos.

Yeah, I think it's a wise choice. there are still many famous people besides Jack who choose to hold only Bitcoin. And I also just want to buy and hold Bitcoin. True, Bitcoin is the best choice for long-term investment.
So, why are there still people who are hesitant to buy Bitcoin ? Yeah, I think that person doesn't understand about Bitcoin.
Yeah, buy now or you will regret it!

Well obviously, a lot of people are just invested in bitcoin not because its their favorite, its because bitcoin is the only crypto they know and to be honest, its the only crypto that offers a high investment i mean a lot of people who did not know about bitcoin only invested in it recently in late 2017 where its price went through the roof and it was hitting every media and everyone and their dog wanted a peace of the cake but they were only met with disappointment when its price went down after that, and their only choice was to just hold because if they sell it they will be losing hard.

Maybe he hasn't discovered or never gives time to study how other coins are working and  if you are really into cryptocurrency you should at least a holder of the top 3 coins in the market, I'm surprised he is not compiling a portfolio of good coins if he is really a cryptocurrency investor

Do people really think this tweet will start the next bull run?
Its been a positive week so far so maybe there is a correlation between the tweet and bull run we are in.

So, Jack is involved in bitcoin like a forever supporter! I did not know about it, because a couple of months ago, Twitter wanted to ban crypto ads and a lot of crypto supporting twitter accounts got suspended! So, I thought Jack doesn't like cryptocurrency!

In that tweet, Ales Gladstein quote a tweet where he wrote, " Bitcoin also matters for freedom and human rights Smiley " the tweet link is here, https://twitter.com/gladstein/status/1092965942626156545

So, by a single tweet from them, many people will join in the crypto industry! And, We need more famous people in crypto to make crypto familiar with everyone.

This is not not new, Jack Dorsey is known as a supporter or advocate of Bitcoin and recently he's been consistently saying good things about it. But I'm just wondering, what if Bitcoin started a bull run again and he made huge profit from it, would he still be saying this things about Bitcoin or he will be just like other influenced people that used their popularity and spread good things about Bitcoin (which is a good thing lol) to earn huge profit from cryptocurrency then started saying bad things about it after earning millions of dollars from it and benefit from it, then started to buy again when investors got scared of FUD they spread. I would like to see an influenced person that really believes on the technology not just another one that wants to make money from it.

Well first of all congrads to the founder of Tweeter to give BTC a endorsement like this.
I am not sure how honest this man is since I do not know him personally but maybe he is just a BTC shill.
How do we know he does not have other coins?   I thought it is that if you have a lot of money you own more then just BTC.

It's not clear what you mean, because many people have Bitcoin but they do not want to disclose that they have Bitcoin to say more about it, but you do not have to say anything more about it, but if you want to give an important message then mention it.

He ironically had a pretty good podcast with Joe Rogan all about this topic. It's worth the listen if you have the spare time.
I think about 30 minutes in it starts focusing on bitcoin/crypto twitter.
It got me a little excited as i've been following the square/bitcoin stuff for quite awhile now.

It's true I'm holding two coins now this time BTC and BCH.But Bitcoin I've been holding a long time ago when its value was $8000.in fact I'm still focusing more on Bitcoin.
Forget it bitcoin prices will increase at any time.So in my opinion Jack has taken a good step.so it can give us more benefits with the future.
