It is being reported that Jake Paul is set to box Canelo Álvarez in May. Maybe this will be the finale of the Paul Brothers reality series. We’ll have to see if it actually happens. It seems like the Paul brothers have been making a lot of clickbait announcements lately. What do you think? Real fight or no?
For me sure it was clickbait. This Paul brother will do anything just to be talked about and to get engagement on their social media. Isn’t this new? He’s made so many fight announcements that never actually happen.

And if I’m not mistaken, Canelo Alvarez has an upcoming fight against Terence Crawford, which would be a much better thing for him to focus on.

My only question is, if this Jake Paul vs. Canelo Alvarez fight actually happens, who would be the favorite in the odds?

Since the fight has been fixed then definitely they will fight. Paul has been challenging Canelo Álvarez for a while now and it is good they settled their differences in the month of May so everyone can rest. Whoever loses will go home and whoever wins will celebrate. Though the fight is under consideration but I believed they will and I am predicting that Canelo Álvarez will win the fight because he more smarter than Paul. And the fight happen in May 3rd Las Vegas (Cinco de Mayo weekend.). Everyone needs to watch this fight because it will be a awesome fight in the year.

Let’s consider this as Jake Paul’s “early retirement” because Canelo is nowhere near the level of fighters he’s previously dominated. But let's cut the shit, this fight is not happening. Jake Paul is just stirring up another hype train to get people talking, and before we know it, he’ll already have an easy fight lined up where he’s the clear favorite again.

Jake Paul is great at grabbing attention, but not everyone is dumb enough to fall for the hype.

The real fight for Canelo is against Crawford, not Jake Paul.

There are a lot of news articles that Alvarez will face Jake Paul for "cinco de mayo". It could all be clickbait and hopefully it is not true as it would be a very one sided match. If it is real and no exhibtion, Alvarez will knock Paul out in the first 3 minutes of round 1 which should still be exciting to watch lol.

There's so much excitement sparking from fans and other people as well.Whether or not the fight would commence we don't really know but the rumors and assumptions from fans are literally generating a sort of heat and brutal anticipation towards the fight.
I see that they're not rivals, but the quest and confidence from Paul to challenge an all time boxing legend for a fight is so intriguing and he's fiercely fueled to embark on the fight.

Paul's statement to defeating Alvarez could be sounding unrealistic, prior to Their past boxing experiences and skills but let's see how it unfolds.

Not sure though if it has bring excitement to boxing fans in general, but for his fans or Canelo, maybe it will attract them to watch this fight. However, for Canelo Alvarez this might hurt his legacy a bit. He is not even retired, and yet he wanted to go to exhibition fights already? And Cinco-de-Mayo usually is reserved for big boxing fans and not this kind of exhibition fight.

So it's pretty disappointing and I'm sure there are fans of Canelo not wanting him to do this. We wanted him to fight a Mexican, in David Benavidez. But it seems that he is ducking the Mexican Monster. But let's see what happens, usually by this time, Canelo should have announce who will be his opponent this Cinco-de-Mayo. Last year it was Jaime Munguia.

Nope pass.  After getting duped into the mike tyson fight i wont watch one swing from either of these guys on that night.  Not sure after last disaster why anyone else would waste theor time. WWE is more entertaining at least.  All of these exhibition fights are dumb, let hime fight a current contender in his weight class, get licked so we can all move on.  Its ruining boxing to be homest.
Yea, it really ruined pro-boxing, and when we thought that after we done with exhibition fights because the border has open and we are not back to normal, this fights suddenly increases and not only that, it's getting bolder with ridiculous amount of money on the line. Specially the supposedly huge amount on the Conor vs Jake fight in India and luckily it didn't go or it was just another fake news. So similar to this, this could be one of those fake news as well as Canelo is very much active in boxing and he still is the MW champion, undisputed so I have my reservations as well that this fight is real. Probably click bait on the news article that released this.

Its all a money game and boxing is the new (and most lucrative medium rn). Netflix hopped on board and streamed the last one I mean these guys have got the money and the connections and honestly I feel like that last one with Paul and Tyson was so staged. Its all good fun though I guess. I mean what more can you expect from a couple youtube video pranksters that grew up? hahahha. They went from collecting crumbs to getting a slice of the whole pie and you've got to give it to them for that.

i believe that alvarez can win this fight 100%. no matter how you look at it, alvarez just has way better stats than jake paul-- and i think even the most insane person would think twice about betting on jake paul. if alvarez agrees to this fight, then this is a fight that could potentially be just another entertainment and free money for the paul brothers.

100% ? Like somebody here would give Jake a 0.01% chance to win it Cheesy Its funny if you have bothered to open both of their stats and compare it Cheesy I think the odds would be a total joke if this fight happens Cheesy In one of the articles it was written that Canelo and Jake had "some level of discussion". I think it was something like "I challenge you for a fight!", "No interesado". But it was enough to create a hype Cheesy

Looks like this is just a clickbait article and fake news. And so I will say that this is not a real fight.
I will give both Jake and Canelo the benefit of doubt that they are going into the box for a real match. But if it's for just social clout, to make money off hype and people, then it's not nice. I don't expect to be experiencing the same format of game in wrestling and then boxing again. Can we just get a real fight? And if someone is leaving the ring, you don't have to pair them for a game. You can get available fighters still in the game to fight.

But how can Canelo box in exhibition match when he is still very much active in the scene and still considered as one of the best and pound for pound if I'm not mistaken. Unless there is NDA or there is something in the contract that he will not knockout Jake Paul.

Than bringing Paul, who is leaving the boxing ring just because of social clout. It makes these games less interesting to bet on. And this is why you see a low amount of gamblers engaging in these games because they make it look like child's play. It's staged, so insiders know who will win. So, if you are betting on this ones, the chances of losing will be very high, and it's not fun because it doesn't give you the real-life experience like football does.

And it seems that Jake Paul has sign his death wish if he really wants to face Canelo in the boxing ring, and then with boxing rule. Although he can call and says that the gloves or ring will be chance, still though, it's very hard to stage this fight. Although it the right kind of money is in the table, I doubt that Canelo Alvarez will refuse this fight as he is chasing money fights already to milk his career before he retires for good.

And Canelo Alvarez still has a lot of good fights in him, like Crawford or Benavidez.

So it doesn't make sense for him to suddenly jump on the bandwagon on Jake Paul, unless he is going to make $120 million because that's what the media is reporting that he is asking the powerful broker from Saudi. And it seems that they are on the negotiation about him and Crawford this May.

Looks like this is just a clickbait article and fake news. And so I will say that this is not a real fight.

If there's huge money involve then it makes sense after all this is an easy fight for him especially his opponent is Paul Jake.

Also its crazy that Jake Paul fly so high and think about he can defeat Canelo since even if he defeat Tyson on his last match it doesn't mean he can also catch the head of Canelo. For sure he would learn a hard lesson that boxing is not pure entertainment and there's huge risk for him if he just take it easy.

If you search this you will see lots of articles discussing this match up. So provably the fight is true and its going to happen in May.

Even if the fight takes place, it will be as fake as the last fight with Tyson. Is anyone seriously talking about a sports fight here? It will look extremely ridiculous and in the format of a show where the result will be decided before entering the ring, the only question is about compensation for the fighters. This event is about selling tickets, broadcasts and sponsorship collaborations, not about a sports competition.

It's most likely a clickbait announcement to hype them up but knowing the state of today's boxing who knows, this fight might actually be true. anyway, all I am saying is, while I think this might just be a clickbait announcement, I wouldn't be surprised if Jake Paul vs Canelo Álvarez actually happens.

There's no doubt the skill and the power discrepancies are very obvious; Jake Paul is not even in the ranking of any boxing organizations.
And title holders will not be allowed to do exhibition matches; they can go for title or non-title matches, and these are all professional matches, not exhibitions, so I don't think its going to happen. Jake Paul is an influencer; they want to create hype and they want to attach their names to popular personalities, especially in boxing.

There is a lot of news about this matchup, but there's no confirmation yet. What we all know is Canelo will likely face Crawford in September, but this is boxing. The media will come out with news about this boxer facing this boxer in order to generate interest, and the media love this because they have something to feed to their readers.
I doubt this one is going to happen. Jake Paul is not someone the World Champions will take into consideration because he is unranked and the Champions want to face top-level boxers who are not into exhibitions.

I doubt that this fight will take place. Probably another clickbait from the Paul brothers in order to maintain interest in the person of one of the brothers. At first, the older brother was going to "beat" Conor McGregor, now the younger brother wants a fight with an opponent who will make a chop out of him. I can't even imagine how the fans can make money on such a fight by betting. Hypothetically, this is about the situation: there is a 90% chance that Jake Paul will lose, or 10% that he will win, but then there is a 90% chance that it will be an accusation that this is a contractual fight.

Once more the Paul Brothers are spreading crap news and hypothetical fights to disturb the waters and see reactions. They are both ridiculous and act like 6 years old kiddos trying to find new toys to play with. However, I would love to see this "match" become a reality and watch Jake Paul's face get smashed by Canelo. Cool

Well, if Canelo is really after the money, it could happen, but it wouldn’t look good, especially since he’s still an active fighter. Even his own fans are already complaining that he’s facing opponents who are too easy for him. That’s why I thought this year would finally be the time we’d see Canelo take on a real challenge, someone who actually has a chance to beat him.

And of course, that’s not Jake Paul. He’s probably the weakest opponent Canelo would have ever faced.
