the first japan bill containing virtual currencies is expected to come on april which recognizes bitcoin as a method of payment.Although,it doesnot define bitcoin as a legal currency,it is still considered as a remarkable progress for bitcoin in japan.Hope, most of tourists who would go to japan to see 2020 olympics would be able to pay in bitcoins.
This is good news, because there are already accepted asco as a means of payment, hopefully this is a good start so that other countries can follow Japan to accept bitcoin as a digital currency
Where do we stand on this? Has anyone done a write up and analysis of where this currently is? A video/podcast or something I can watch?

Is Japan the first country that recognize the crypto currency of bitcoin as payment method? and all because of satoshi nakamoto great idea in makin if bitcoin and as their very own locan citizen?
They are first that officially announced it, there are some that test it but Japan is first that accepts all payment in bitcoin.
This is major step or some other country to follow the as an example, maybe Russia or some other European country, Sweden maybe now that they developing some altcoin for them only.
So if that being said, I therefore conclude that japan are really patronizing their very own craft. Because above anything else they support the product of their own countrymen. Salute to the government of Japan in doing this big step for the future.
I think it's still too early because the transaction problem dibitcoin still not finished yes although I'm happy if this news is true because this is one of the development of cryptocurrency considering japan is a country that advanced rapidly in the field of technology.
in fact such kind of act will make bitcoin more stable, in fact other countries will also at least start thinking about bitcoin. i think there are so many other countries where the users of bitcoin are too much and hope that their people will convince their government to accept bitcoin as legal currency.

love to hear that Bitcoin is being used in japan. I hope that more countries will do more things for BItcoin to be accepted in many places so that other cryptocurrencies can be existed on our planet
I hope this one can happen too in my country, I hope goverment in my country try to accept Bitcoin as payment method, so many citizen will interest and many merchant can use Bitcoin as a payment in their merchant.
When Japan proves bitcoin is a success business and does really provide a great impact or help to their people,bitcoin will surely adapt by many countries real soon.

Japan has started by using bitcoin as a means of payment of things to be imitated by other countries such as Indonesia.

I believe any country can imitate or follow the footsteps of Japan including Indonesia if they have the political will because I don't think any country lacks the basic necessities like internet and access to computers but the main implementation of Bitcoin as a payment system in any jurisdiction lies on the political head of state or government and so they must be willing to implement it just like Japan.
Correct but think that all want to wait to see how will Japan come to this. They hopping if they come to great success that they will share knowledge but this will be wrong. Also think that big countries will first follow Japan (Russia and some other Europe country), dont think in this picture will be USA at least not in the first steps.
After everything goes well other will follow like you mentioned Indonesia, and maybe Philippines as well, cuz they have big community.

Superb, with official recognition of Japan then will make many countries using bitcoin, Japan is the country's second strongest economy after the USA so if Japanese accept bitcoin transactions then make prices skyrocket.

Well, actually this thread is already kind of old, because im sure that most of the people participating on this forum already know about that Japan has accepted bitcoin as a possible payment method. But im still really happy that something like this happened, after all we can always have many different countries following their steps. Because if the one country did something like that, then some of the others may want to do the same if it will turn out as a good decision.
The last increase of the cryptocurrencies price, was mostly because the Japan market obtaining more and more btc, and altcoins.
They made such a big movements, that it has resulted in such a massive BTC/USD rate increase, which is very nice for every bitcoin user, that currently has some bought.
You are right because of the acceptance of bitcoin as payment for the state of japan others will also accept it and as because of the acceptance of Japan the price increased too much if other countries will also accept then the price will increased much more and we will be millionaire with bitcoin. The last increase of the cryptocurrencies price, was mostly because the Japan market obtaining more and more btc, and altcoins.
