A movie that was totally ruined by including a gay subplot was Alexander.  Way way too much lovey dovey honey boy crap ad nauseum.  We're talking about one of the best military commanders and strategists in history being turned into a little cocksucking on the brain slut of the ancient era.  That's ridiculous.  Nobody cares.  Nobody wants all the details of their little lover's spats. 

Many other examples of PC ruining movies, many other things not just movies.  And in opposition to Popcorn's comment, it's not "whether we can tolerate it" but whether the end product of all the decisions is ENJOYABLE.  And that's all it is.  A hundred thousand hours of work, and those guys produce a two hour movie.  And we buy it, or we don't.  And it gets a 5.5 rating on IMDB, or an 8.9. 

You know, there might just be some reasons why one is a 5.5 and another is an 8.9....

What the pink mafia wants is overt representation of their lifestyle in the media.  That means that they want guys kissing, guys dancing with each other, on and on.  So yes, you think it should stay behind closed doors and they want the opposite.

Then again, any typical cop/drama/shoot it up usually has nearly nude sex scenes. 

THOSE ARE NOT IN STAR TREK EITHER!  So why does the plot and the series have to be sexualized at all?  In any direction?  Isn't a large part of the problem the sexualization of any and everything?

Yes, it should stay behind closed doors. A lot of people will agree with my perception but those that do not agree will obviously be gay and supporters of this. Unnatural or unethical things should be brought into limelight in my opinion.

A good movie to use as a measure of these critical standards is Casa Blanca.  There's a great plot, a "save the world" plot.  There are dedicated-to-the-cause characters.  Cutting through the middle of it all is a romance plot.  There isn't a single line of dialogue or a single scene that isn't tightly bound to the plot.

Contrast that with Avatar.  There is nothing but PC crap in Avatar.  Military who are mean, sadistic and who do the bidding of the Greedy Capitalists.  Aliens who are bad renderings of North American Indians.  A primary character who is a cripple-wheelchair-boy.   After all this crap is pushed in and explained, there's no room left for plot.

I can't see the issue with gays as being any different than any other kind of plot or movie revenue destroyer.

Yep! This is what I saying. I'm having difficulties with Indian movies and the Japs are also sometimes too sick for my taste, but Chinese and Korean historical movies used to be good. Russian movies were always good (except some WW2 war movies). Eastern Europian moves... well some of those are good but the most are trash. Unfortunately Emir Kusturica not very active in these days.

I agree on the fact that you can put as many blacks/Asian/gays/trans as you want as long as it's not ruining the story.

JK Rowling move about Dumbledore was cool and also explained why he had no romantic life. So it's not a bad move. It's fair with the story and even with the character.

But don't just put gays to make it like it's gay friendly that's all...

Once the law makes us all equal, why putting pressure on each and everything in our society?

I'm all for some games like Mass Effect 3 allowing gay romance. It's cool and isn't intrusive and is related to the importance of choice in the game.
But why putting forcibly gayness everywhere?

Well after if it's well writen I've got nothing against. But don't just put gays in order to reach a gay quota. It would be insulting for everyone.

If there are gay characters on every t.v show, then its not a balanced perspective and its being forced on the masses. Soon as crap is pushed and I finally pick up on it, I tune out. Has nothing to do with homosexuality, just rather come to my own decisions and keep Hollywood from influencing it.

Having a gay personality in star wars doesn't seem to change anything at all. I mean it's good that they are trying to set out that they are supporting such like what they did with the black man. Just don't overdo it and stick with the awesome story.
I have seen J.K. Rowling did the same move when she announced that dumbledore was gay.

Nothing big to fuss about, they are fictional charaters and it's good that they are unlike other bigot people.

No, they won't.  You're just repeating PC shit.

Go look at what has worked in movies, what characters have been gay.  There have been a few.  It's always been a minor theme of no importance, sometimes of comedy.  Here's one that worked rather well - in the Jersey Boys, director Clint Eastwood, the character of the music producer was a flaming gay.  Worked well, looked real, provided contrast to everyone else who was straight.

But for the most part, injecting gay into a character is simply a negative. 

What a character should be is someone you empathize with, someone you care whether they survive, die tragically, or whatever.   If not the plot fails and the ratings and income fail.

Two more recent movies with gay was DiCaprio in J. Edgar, and I think this movie was PC propaganda mostly.  But it failed to make me care at all about the main character.  Let him get shot, blackmailed, killed, I couldn't care less.

The other was the production of The Imitation Game, about Turing.  I've got mixed feelings about this one.  First, I believe almost anyone would empathize with the character of Turing.  A large part of the credit for the West winning WWII goes to him.  However, he was an open, unabashed gay, and the movie portrays him as a closet gay.  So it makes no sense in numerous ways.  Several aspects of his life are mis represented.  Also, the movie does not go into the likelihood that he was murdered, and presumes that he committed suicide.  All in all though, I think anyone would like the movie.  It's main focus is not Turing's personal lifestyle, though, and that may be the main reason.

If 95-99% of the consumer base is interested in boy meets girl, you simply cannot expect them to buy product which is boy-boy shit.  That's the business reason that it's totally stupid to go PC in movies.

Really that's what it all adds up to.  Business.
