I have decided to award all of the qualified participants of the last round with $10 in BTC, as we only had 6 of you who met the criteria for the last week that the challenge was held. I hope you don't mind that ONE of you lost out on an additional $15, but please note that you did so in order to share the winnings with 5 others.

If I may be honest, it would require way too much time for me to go through your post history to the last month in order to critique the proper posts for the week of the challenge, so I would rather pay you personally (not from the challenge escrow account) for being a participant in the challenge for the week that everything went awry lol.

With that said, will the following members please PM me their SegWit-enabled addresses so that I can get them their small bonuses:

max2607: PAID (tx)
Sellingaccs: PAID (tx)
shahzadafzal: PAID(tx)
Seetheummerallyeah: PAID (tx)
bitmover: PAID (tx)
r1s2g3: PAID (tx)

Update: THE CHALLENGE WILL RESUME AT 8PM!

A new self-moderated version of this thread has been started! The purpose of this was to clean it up, as it has been moved to a new section of the boards. Specifically "Games and rounds". Due to the existing clutter of this thread, I found it best to lock this one so that we can move the dialogue to the new thread.

I will leave a reference link to this thread in the new one (at the bottom of the top post) so that you can reference it, if need be, at any time from the new thread.

I'm excited to get this challenge back on track, and I thank you all so much for your patience! Please see the new thread for updates to how I will run this challenge.

Thanks so much, and I can't wait to hear from all you guys!

Here's a link to the new thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/joes-signatureless-challenge-win-25-4-merits-every-week-paused-3784164

Please note that the signatures have changed (to reflect the link to the new thread). PLEASE UPDATE YOUR SIGNATURES! If you have a custom signature, please update the link in the signature with the URL of the new thread, or by using this custom link: http://bit.ly/SigFreeNew

Hey all, been a crazy week, but I'm back for the weekend. Unfortunately, I'll be unavailable next weekend, so I'll START the next round that weekend (Week of May 13). Thanks for being patient, and I hope this serves you enough warning and notice if you'd like to partake in the next round!

I will be closing this thread for now, and will reopen it on Wednesday, May 9!

Thanks again for all of your patience.

Note: All the participants are allowed to wear the signature of their choice while the campaign is paused! No worries!

Good luck to your future mate! Its actually a good news. Must have been all the good deeds that you had done for the community in here for you to deserve such an opportunity!

But your project deserves to be here still. Maybe is there anyway to select a potential candidate to carry on your will for this? I am not up to it but I know there are alot pros that are fit to do so.

Hi Sir Joe, I'm planning to join a Signature Campaign since round 7 (round that I joined) has been paused. If I'm accepted, I will be out for the contest and I will remove my Signature. I hope you still consider me to have a position in any place in your contest (assuming that I deserve any place). I will only remove my Signature once I'm accepted in a campaign. But if no campaign accepts me. I will keep wearing it.

Thanks

you pay with your privacy.

As is the price of most things these days. Too many people are ready and willing to give this up for the feeling of safety or a quick dollar. You pay with your privacy, your time, potentially your reputation and all the opportunities that you are neglecting while doing these bounties. The cost is too high to even participate.

I have sent documents, my telegram, created a twitter, etc.... did a bunch of useless tasks and received from 5cc to 20 usd. I think it's just a waste of time.

All you did was a whole bunch of work to save these companies money, unfortunately. They would've paid more money for your information if they tried to acquire it from some kind of marketing agency and you did a bunch of advertising, basically for free, because all they wanted was your information to inflate their numbers and mark you down as a "customer/purchaser" illegitimately. It's a dirty game, and nobody should play.

In the long term, you will make more money educating yourself than joining bounties.

I don't even believe it is restricted to the long-term. I think in the short-term you would be better off doing anything else with your time. Even filling out surveys for money pays better and more consistently that these trash bounties, and at least they're honest about invading your privacy. I agree though, educating yourself, making smart investments with your time rather than doing whatever you believe to be the easiest dollar.

The short answer is going to be, "yes". If there is no challenge going on, then there is no obligation for you to wear the signature. Although, one of the main points of this entire challenge is to kind of show the light to lower-ranking members about airdrops, bounties and spamming around the forum. Do as you wish, because the round has been "paused", not "extended".

You're free to come back when the challenge picks itself back up.

Yeah, this is why i joined this campaign at the first time...

In my opinion, airdrops and most bounties are a waste of time and they are not free, you pay with your privacy.

I joined a bunch of airdrops last year, about 20, a received just very few (about 5). I have sent documents, my telegram, created a twitter (already deleted anyway), etc.... did a bunch of useless tasks and received from 5cc to 20 usd. I think it's just a waste of time.

About twitter campaigns, that's a totally waste of time too. Time that could be better used studying and educating yourself about crypto. In the long term, you will make more money educating yourself than joining bounties.

It's a shame to see so many people doing those useless bounties for so long... they get involved mostly with bad actors, scammers and shitcoins. That's why so many people here say "ICOs are scam". Well they are not, there are many good ICOs around there, but many of them do not even come here to bitcointalk...

I think that if you are looking for good altcoin investment, Reddit is a better place to start.

I discovered some nice altcoins here, mostly those associated with good managers and that do not spam the forum, which use only sig campaigns.

Bitcointalk is amazing to talk about bitcoin.

Please note, I am not running the challenge, so everything I say is just how I have interpreted the situation. Joe may have a completely different take, and I would advise you wait to hear from him, if possible. I just wanted to get what I believe to be the correct answer to you, since it may be awhile until Joe pops in.

Joe
I have some sMerit to spend. It is too much work for me to check other people posts to find who of them deserve merit points. First, I am thinking to give it to you directly, then you can share but only half of them. So, I want to help you with your contest and participate here with my smerits.

Please please please forgive me for the hiatus, and I promise we will get back to the challenge as soon as I know I can dedicate the few hours this needs. I would hate to be in the same position again as for the end of Round 6, where I've left you guys hanging for this long because I've been too busy.

I'll be sure to update you guys with details when I'm ready to accept applicants again for the next round, which will be Round 8, starting on May 6.

My suspicions have proven to be correct. I was under the assumption that work and life had just gotten a bit overwhelming for now. As I said earlier, I am sure nobody is going to hold it against you. You've been holding it down, doing all of the work yourself and even going out of your way to give feedback to each participant. There is nothing to be forgiven, as you've done nothing wrong.

We'll see you in a couple of weeks to pick up where we left off. We've got the funds to continue, that's for sure, so I can't imagine the interest will dissipate by the time you return. Go handle what you need to handle, and we'll dangle in suspense happily.

Thinking about sponsoring for another week, but I want to have a slightly bigger impact this time Tongue

So I've come up with a little side-challenge for other people who are thinking of sponsoring this campaign.

I want to pledge another 0.01 BTC to be paid on Saturday, 21st of April.
But there's a catch...

I want to see some other people step up, so I will only send 0.01 BTC, if you get another 0.01 BTC in sponsorships from other people before Saturday, 21st of April (before 8PM UTC).

If that condition is not met, I'll just sponsor 0.005 BTC

Good idea or not?

Btw, I think you forgot to add me to the list of sponsors Wink

Great idea, but I haven't been able to revisit this challenge for over a week because of my unexpected schedule, so I'd wait on donating anything just yet Smiley We still have a good cushion in the account for now, so let's wait until we're in need of more funds to keep this going. Is that cool with you?

I'll make sure to add you to the sponsors! So sorry about that; it's been a shit week lol

Yeah that's totally fine by me, I was waiting until I heard back from you, so I'm glad that I did Smiley
I'm also willing to sponsor a bit of my time as well, to pick someone out for the next rounds or so. If that would help a bit with the work load.

We'll start a similar kind of challenge when the funds start to run out and do it in the beginning of the week rather than the end.

@BTCforJoe

I participate in a lot of Content Creation (Video) bounty Campaigns where I am asked to make posts likes these:

-snip-

How do you proceed in these situations? Do you simply ignore those or you count them as low quality posts?

Well, a bit of both: I simply do not count those posts towards your entries for the round, given that you have at least 7 other quality posts for the round. Otherwise, the posts would count towards your score, but it would end up being a very low score because of its lack of quality.

One of the participant of this campaign : AleksNewman has been caught of copy-pasting by botany. Please ban him from the campaign.

He has been disqualified anyways, for lack of relevant posts for Round 6.

Good day Joe!

I joined signatureless challenge round 7.. I just want to confirm if I'm still in..  And if the there's a chance of winning..  I want to confirm/change if I use 3Q6AeMiP8vSaH1Q9U9LuV6fdMkMXjmFmbF as my greenaddress..
Thanks a lot!

Updated. Good luck! We'll see how close you are when I start the judging for Round 7. Sit tight!

Very well said! Took the words right out of my mouth lol

Agreed. However he logged in today, so at least he is still alive Smiley There's no reason to start the next round before Joe is done with the past two rounds.

Unless his murderer stole his laptop and he has it set to stay logged-in. Shocked
It's not that there's no reason to start the next round, there is no way to start the next round. It is Joe's challenge, afterall.

So after few months after I finish all the remaining bounties I will come back. What do you think?

I think that this type of thing need not be said. We would rather you drop the worthless bounties and join us, but you are free to do whatever you believe to be the best thing for you to do.

May be Joe should make a team now and distribute the small tasks like excluding the spam posters and posts and Joe can focus on evaluating the posts only.

I think a team might get in the way more than they'd maximize efficiency. Joe has earned themselves a bit of vacation time. We can be patient for the next round and the announcement. Allow the suspense to build and empassion you.

Hey all, quick update:

First of all, my most profound apologies for my absence for the past two rounds. I hope you guys don't mind, but I will award Round 6 and Round 7 after reviewing the entries this week. But I'm going to have to take the next two weeks off and resume the challenge again on May 6.

Real life has caught up, and unfortunately, I've been stuck doing some major freelance gigs that required grueling hours on a daily basis. By the time I had free time for myself, it was literally to snack on something and check my personal emails before I knocked out for the day.

I literally just submitted one of my projects, and have a few more, but felt the need to update you guys, which, trust me, I meant to do much sooner than I am.

Please please please forgive me for the hiatus, and I promise we will get back to the challenge as soon as I know I can dedicate the few hours this needs. I would hate to be in the same position again as for the end of Round 6, where I've left you guys hanging for this long because I've been too busy.

Also, for those of you that don't know, I've recently accepted a Marketing Director position for a new crypto company, and we are nearing the beta launch of our first service website. We're also nearing the launch of our first funding round, so that has also been taking a ton of my time lately.

I meant to update you guys sooner, but I had no idea that my workload would hit me like a ton of bricks.

Thanks so much for your patience, all, and I hope you can understand why I need to take this brief hiatus. I'll be sure to update you guys with details when I'm ready to accept applicants again for the next round, which will be Round 8, starting on May 6.

The spreadsheet will continue to be turned off for now, just to indicate that the challenge is currently on hiatus.

I'll leave the thread open until Thursday so you guys can discuss anything you need, but feel free to PM me with any questions you may have until the thread is re-opened again when the application process begins for Round 8.

Thanks again for your patience, and my most sincere apologies for my unannounced absence.

I like this idea, hence I decided to support promotion the challenge wearing your signature. Probably I will join later. Good luck to all challengers! Kiss

Is it me or is the spreadsheet not working for others too?

It only asks me to request permission and not to view it?
Oh don't you worry nothing is wrong... whenever Joe is doing the math...  spread sheet turns-off automatically... its like a magic...

Please do not request access to the spreadsheet while it’s turned off. Every week, I get a half dozen requests. Please don’t request access; it gets quite annoying, especially when I always mention that I am turning it off beforehand.
