What free CLAM? You can dig some CLAM but usually people get 4.6 CLAM or a few times that so they have to buy to play/invest more

The thread name has to be changed...

yup, I think wallets before May has clams in it.

Answers it

The client needs the keys to prove ownership of the BTC, LTC or DOGE that was in the wallet on 12th May. The keys aren't sent anywhere and the client has been fully checked out and approved by several extremely trustworthy individuals (including the owner of just-dice). If you're still not comfortable then you can always send the coins to a new wallet and then import the now empty old wallet. The keys don't leave your machine but are used to generate the CLAM addresses in your CLAM wallet that would have qualified.

You'll receive CLAMS for any non-dust containing output in any of your BTC, LTC and DOGE wallets:

Bitcoin
height=300377 date=2014-05-12 12:48:17

Litecoin
height=565693 date=2014-05-12 13:06:31

Dogecoin
height=218556 date=2014-05-12 13:09:17

You only need the keys if you intend digging up/claiming CLAM from the distribution and you believe one or more of your wallets would qualify. Otherwise you can just buy and sell them like any other altcoin.

the only reason why clam is a high value coin is due to justdice, i dont see anyone else carrying it.

and they been back operating since a month now?

Since someone revived it, Just dice has been fully operational for the last month or so after adopting clam
Users with Bitcoin Dogecoin or Litecoin before a certain date in 2014 have Clam in their wallet addresses as long as they have the private key so its free money to convert at an exchange or play around with.

It has a bit of value because older bitcoin users had some spare clams lying around in old wallets and just dice had a good rep.

with so many free clams around I'm surprised the price was not dumped to 0. Either by the owners or by Just-Dice

Hope is good for the better luck next time , We must trade by setting up some target and sooner as we reach to our target . We must take our profit and withdraw ourselves from there.

There are more willing to buy than to sell it. This applies to other coins.

Have not read the new laws yet, will do soon. Let's see if it is a matter of tax or licence...

It seems it is about license and stuff like AML.

http://cointelegraph.com/news/111905/canada-signs-first-ever-official-law-regulating-bitcoin
Quote
“The five most important aspects of Bill C-31 as they relate to Bitcoin are as follows:
 1. Regulates Bitcoin as MSB – Bitcoin dealing, more specifically referred to as “dealing in virtual currencies” in Bill C-31, will be subject to the record keeping, verification procedures, suspicious transaction reporting and registration requirements under the PCMLTFA as a money services business.
 2. Does not define “dealing in virtual currencies” - The phrase “dealing in virtual currencies” was left undefined and it is not known what the defined term will encompass in terms of business activities once defined by regulation.
 3. Registration with FINTRAC - Bitcoin dealers will be required to register with FINTRAC and if successfully registered, to implement a complete anti-money laundering compliance regime.
 4. Captures foreign Bitcoin companies targeting Canada – Bill C-31 is more sweeping than other Canadian laws because it extends to: (a) companies that have a place of business in Canada; and (b) companies that have a place of business outside Canada but who direct services at persons or entities in Canada. Coinbase, for example, will have to register with FINTRAC to continue to provide Bitcoin services in Canada. Having a place of business means physically located in Canada, or having an R&R in Canada. Bitcoin businesses in Canada, however, that provide services to persons or entities outside of Canada are exempt from Bill C-31 for those external services.
 5. Prohibits banks from opening accounts for Bitcoin entities if unregistered - Under Bill C-31, banks will be prohibited from opening and maintaining correspondent banking relationships with Bitcoin dealers that are not registered with FINTRAC. This is an extremely important aspect of Bill C-31 and Bitcoin businesses should ensure they understand what a correspondent banking relationship is and how it can affect the provisions of banking services to them internationally.”

Well I'm sad to see them go (even if it is temporary), hopefully they'll find a way to reopen. Just-dice was a pretty good place to invest, small reliable gains. That being said even if they do reopen much of the market might have shifted to other dice site operators (in all probability Primedice).

primedice doesn't accept investments from what i've seen.. maybe stunna will change his mind.

I would like to make a betting site of my own to allow investments like J-D, but i wouldn't know how to code it.

Anyone else who wants to make a J-D similar site? There's probably a lot of investors (and gamblers) who would like to join the replacement.

Sorry to see just-dice go. Regulation is killing bitcoin. Have not read the new laws yet, will do soon. Let's see if it is a matter of tax or licence...

Regulation can't kill gambling. These kind of websites will just move off-shore. Things happen really quick in bitcoin world.
