I invested yesterday 2 btc so I have like 0.00527 percent or something.   There was a huge downward jump on my account, so I checked into it, since It seems crazy that anyone would bet that amount of money.

Found the guys.  Now are these people hacking, which is what I think, something possibly going on from the site owners, or have other investors actually seen losses from bettors of these amounts.  I find it hard to believe people are staking hundreds of thousands of dollars on just-dice.  This one dude won almost half a million usd yesterday lol?  It seems I just scammed right and left and am to stubborn and stupid to pull out lol.  Some insight from random people on the internet always helps.

Yeah, some gamblers take it too far. You don't gamble with something you're afraid of losing. @Bittcoo Just post the story in a new thread in Off-topic, rather than linking to websites. Hell knows what malware will cling on your device if you visit the site.

You will not mind to provide on the website the username and password of bitstamp (or btc-e or mtgox depending on where you bought the bitcoins) so that everyone can check the history and see that you indeed bought those bitcoins.

A little anonymity.
Gambling has destroyed not one life, I am financially at the bottom Sad

Come on man! You are well in a catastrophe, losing 80K is incredible, your pride is not at stake here. You shouldn'd be ashamed of gambling hard, it is a common illness. Right now the website just looks like scam and it is not convincing anyone to donate. If you provide hard data, I am sure you will get something to recover a part of your losses.

"You have no idea how hard it is for me now to work, earning about 4 Bitcoins a month."

Do you have any idea how many people on this globe work for a fraction of that? IMHO you should be happy you have a decent job, learn a lesson on what happened and continue with your life. Money is no reason to be unhappy, there are much more important things.

I'm a hopeless job. I work 10-12 hours a day.
I do not make 4 BTC this is a mistake.
Earning about 2 Bitcoins a month. I have only to repay the credits.
I do not have enough to next payday. I know that some people have worse.

Attracting more investment doesn't achieve much of anything.  If I wanted a bigger maximum bet on the site I'm sure I could double the "risk factor" back to full-Kelly without many complaints.  And attracting more investment just means I'm responsible for an even larger pile of Bitcoins.  Since I don't intend to steal them, that's nothing but extra stress for me.

You are right if players don't usually play for the maximum profit. Now promotions should be focused on players, on encouraging them to play more.

If you ever need support with Just-Dice or Doge-Dice, please email the address in the FAQ:

rather than PM'ing me threats on the forum (because I don't check the forum very much any more):

Thanks!  Smiley

It took longer than expected, but finally we have resolution:

The 1.17 BTC (or whatever it was) is safely back with its owner...

funny, but jokes aside, how do we trust someone to hold that much Bitcoin without draining everything out one day?  I'm curious because I'm interested as an investor.  Is the identity of the man in charge known, and what kind of liability would he have if the disappeared?  After the Ukyo scam and countless others, I am very nervous about putting my money anywhere.  What makes just-dice safe when you choose to invest in the house (Luck aside.  I'm talking strictly of trust in people)

The best evidence that I don't intend to steal investor funds is that the total bankroll was over 60k BTC for a while and then a big investor pulled out 12k BTC all at once (I paid him out in two transactions so I didn't have to keep such a large amount online at once).  It's unlikely that the bankroll will ever be that high again, and so that would have been the obvious time to steal it if I was going to.  But instead I let him withdraw his 12k BTC.

I know it's not much proof of anything, but I think the way most scams work is that the operator tries to make as much as he possibly can out of them, which it's clear I'm not doing.

Everyone needs to make the trust decision for themselves.

I'm not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing... but at this point the site has a large enough bankroll to cover the occasional whale that stops by.  Additional investment just hurts current investors by diluting their stake.  Additional investment neither hurts nor helps dooglas since he takes the same cut no matter how much is invested.  So there's really no incentive for him to go out of his way to provide docs and what not to attract new investors.

In fact, if he was aggressively trying to raise capital and build investor trust, that'd be suspicious to me.  The only reason to do so given the current bankroll would be so he'd have more to steal later.

Note that he's not talking about being able to cover losses to lucky whales.  He's just talking about the risk of me stealing the invested coins.

Like you say, I don't feel the need to convince anyone of anything.  I've been doing this long enough now that there are plenty of people who trust me.

So you're welcome to join the fun if you want to, but it's up to you to decide whether you can trust me or not.  Also bear in mind that the 1% edge isn't big enough to prevent a very bumpy ride to profit.  We often have losing weeks; in fact 2 of the last 3 weeks the site has made a loss (the winning week more than made up for the two losing weeks, but that's by no means guaranteed).

As the MPOE-PR stated, investing bitcoins anywhere other than MPex is no different than gambling on JD.
