does jd do anything to protect user privacy and anonymity? does it log IP addresses? does it log conversations from chat? does it delete information that is not useful long term?

JD does log IP addresses and chat conversations.  None of this information will be shared with any third party unless I'm compelled to by law.  It's useful to have this information when investigating past events.

Yes, it seems like since the profit is at 1.77% now and it will be at 1% in the infinite future, the profit has to go down now. Although the profit going down to 1% would be just as possible as the profit going up to 2.54%.

If the site was up 1 BTC on 10 BTC wagered, we'd be at 10% profit.  You might think the profit has to go down for the profit to reach 1%, but it doesn't.

If later the site is up 10 BTC on 1000 BTC wagered, the profit is up from the previous 1 BTC and the site is now only up 1%.  The profit has increased from 1 BTC to 10 BTC while simultaneously decreasing from 10% to 1%.

See how that works?

Even if the site had won exactly 1% of all wagers after the initial "1 BTC from 10 BTC", then when it was at 1000 BTC wagered (an increase of 990 BTC) the profit would be up 9.9 BTC to 10.9 BTC, an overall profit of just 1.09%, very close to the expected 1%.  So even though the house performed just as expected after the initial good luck, the profit still returned pretty much to the 1% level where it should be.

In short the percentage profit isn't expected to fall because the profit falls, but rather because the total wagered increases.  There are two ways of making X/Y get smaller: decrease X or increase Y.

I'm running a martingale python script and was working fine for the last 3 days and now I get a 403 forbidden message. That indicates that they don't want me betting anymore. I asked 4 times on chat why is this happening and no reply, NOTHING REGARDING this problem. Great customer service!!!!

There's a "contact us" section in the FAQ.  It doesn't suggest asking in the chat.  I'm often in the chat, but not 24/7.

In the last 24 hours or so the site has come under attack, and so I have had to put countermeasures in place.  If your Python script is reconnecting to the site over and over again then you may have been affected by the countermeasures.  This may also cause your chat messages to be silently ignored.

We've had someone spamming the chat with bible passages from multiple IP addresses.  I'm sorry if that means that some users with unusual access patterns have also been affected.

If you email the support address (found at towards the bottom of the FAQ tab) I'm sure we can sort this out for you.

So the site is up 0.7% higher than it should be, does this mean investing now might be a bad idea or am I getting the math really wrong?

Thanks Smiley

No, you are a victim of Gambler's fallacy. Ironically, that is what is making this site so much money.

Good read, so lets see if I have this right:

Given enough time the profit percentage will approach closer and closer to 1%. But this doesn't mean we have to take a loss on our investment over this same time period.

The win rate for the site will get closer to 1 percent as the law of large numbers causes it to even out, however this does not mean we lose money necessarily.

Am I correct?

You are correct.  Just because the site is up 1.7% now doesn't mean anything.  Future results are still expected to be 1%.  This is why a martingale betting strategy can be so dangerous.

Conversations in chat I would assume are logged (And any user can also log them if they want, that's the beauty of sockets). No information is intentionally deleted (why would it be?)

If you want to protect your privacy, you should rather do it yourself rather than trusted the site to do it for you. Only browse using a VPN and encrypt you messages if you don't want everybody to read it.

I wrote a little user script yesterday that shows you the site profit percentage in real time:

It's surprising easy to write scripts for J-D.  Grin

I added something similar to the 'chat' and 'stats' tabs.  You'll see it when you reload.

(thought if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear)
GHhghhhugh.

Oh, having user/password and be able to bet, widthdraw bitcoins is not an issue now?

Is it? Enlighten me, because as far as I know, this isn't illegal, yet.
You did not understand at all.
All I'm saying is that CloudFlare can steal your password, your bitcoins whenever they want. Or give it to governments.

Well, if the CloudFlare production servers can be accessed by any employee of the company, so yes, this can be a problem. But I'm sure that these servers are very critical and only employees that can be counted on the fingers of one hand can access them and I'm also sure that every access to these server are logged. So, I really won't be worried about this.

They can't steal your Bitcoins because your bitcoins are stored in doog's cold storage.

MTGox uses Cloudflare and Prolexic, blockchain.info uses Cloudflare. So, why?
Because they can see your password in clear text. And they can log everything you do.
I certainly don't trust a bunch of american hipsters offering a service mostly for free to protect my privacy and property.

Ok, this is a valid point for MTGox as they have your name, address, phone... in you account (thought if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear), but in the case of blockchain.info and just-dice, this isn't a problem.

maybe you should consider using something like https://www.cloudflare.com/ ... idk! just maybe Smiley

Certainly not.
If you use cloudflare on anything remotely BTC-related you're a security dumbass.
